Indiana Virtual School is a virtual school sponsored by the state of Indiana and authorized by Daleville Community Schools. The school is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The school serves grades 6-12 and enrolled a total of 1,909 students for the 2015-16 school year according to the Indiana Virtual School Annual Report. Online schools are an alternative to traditional public schools.Indiana Virtual School is a public charter school accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and authorized by Ball State University.The school has been criticized for an extraordinarily high student teacher ratio, more than 200 students per teacher. The U.S. average for all virtual schools is 35.5, and for all public schools 16. Only 64 of 985 seniors graduated in 2017, statistics similar to the previous year, the lowest graduation rate of any public school in the state.

AlphaCom is an operator of for-profit virtual schools based in Carmel, Indiana. The schools, including Indiana Virtual School, have been criticized for low graduation rates and high student-teacher ratios. This is the lowest graduation rate of any high school in the state.

Clay Township is one of nine townships in Hamilton County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 83,293 and it contained 32,375 housing units. Since the annexation of Home Place, Indiana; Carmel is now completely coterminous with the township.

Indiana University Health North Hospital (originally named Clarian North Medical Center) is a full-service hospital for adults and children. Opened in December 2005, the 170-bed hospital and attached medical office building offer maternity, pediatric, and adult services. The pediatric inpatient services, imaging services, and emergency department are affiliated with IU Health Riley Hospital for Children and is called Riley North. Other programs affiliated with IU Health North include a Bariatric Center of Excellence, a nationally (NAPBC) accredited Breast Cancer Program, a cardiac program, a pediatric cancer program, and a range of pre-natal and parenting classes and programs. IU Health North is located in Carmel, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis at 116th and Meridian Street. It is part of Indiana University Health, but has a separate board of managers, CEO, executive management team, physician investors, and community representation. On August 23, 2018, ground was broken on the IU Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center. The addition will add 88,000 square feet (8,200 m2) of space, as well as provide consolidated oncology services.

The Indianapolis Indiana Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) located at the southwest corner of West 116th Street and Spring Mill Road in Carmel, Indiana, north of Indianapolis. It is the first temple constructed in Indiana. The Indianapolis Indiana Temple is similar in design to The Gila Valley Arizona Temple, a single-level temple with an end spire and approximately 34,000 square feet.

The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts is 1,500-seat, 151,000-square-foot (14,000 m2) concert hall located in Carmel, Indiana.After years of planning, The Palladium, one of three venues that comprises the Center for the Performing Arts, opened on January 29, 2011, and today serves as a venue by internationally recognized artists. It is located at 1 Center Green, adjacent to the Carmel City Center. The four-fronted, symmetrical design of The Palladium, massed around the domed central space of the single room concert hall was inspired by Andrea Palladio’s Villa Capra, La Rotonda (1566). The Palladium is based upon the traditional shoebox-shaped concert hall with high ceilings and massive, sound-reflecting walls. The facility also features a limestone façade and movable glass acoustical panels that can significantly alter the acoustics of the hall.The Palladium was designed by David M. Schwarz Architects of Washington, D.C. with local consultation by CSO Architects as Architect of Record. Indianapolis-based Shiel Sexton Co. Inc. served as construction manager.The Palladium is also home to the Great American Songbook Foundation. The organization's administrative headquarters are located on the Gallery level. There are two other venues that comprise the Center — the 500-seat Tarkington Theatre, a proscenium theatre reminiscent of a Broadway theatre where most of the Center's musicals are performed, and the Studio Theatre, a small "black box" with flexible seating configurations. Steven Libman was the founding President and CEO of the Center for the Performing Arts from 2009 to 2011. While there, he successfully planned and launched the first few seasons and produced two major opening night festival galas with Michael Feinstein, Chris Botti, Neil Sedaka, Dionne Warwick, David Hyde Pierce and dancers from American Ballet Theatre. He also produced a PBS special with Feinstein seen by 11 million viewers. The special, titled "Michael Feinstein: The Sinatra Project", was nominated for Outstanding Music Direction at the 64th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. In 2012, Tania Castroverde Moskalenko was hired to lead the organization. She was previously the CEO at the Germantown Performing Arts Center in Germantown, Tennessee. Under her leadership, the Center continued to expand programming offered in its three venues and attained increased funding from individual and corporate sources. In March 2015, the Center announced a significant four-year sponsorship agreement with Carmel-based Allied Solutions.In August 2016, Moskalenko resigned from her position, and board chair Jeffrey C. McDermott assumed the role of interim president and CEO. One year later, McDermott was officially elected by the Center Board as the new full time president and CEO.

Nora is a community on the far north side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Nora's neighborhoods typically feature diverse housing stock, large lots, and mature trees. The commonly-accepted community boundaries are those defined by the Nora-Northside Community Council (NCC) – contained by White River on the east (southward around the Broad Ripple oxbow), Williams Creek and 79th Street on the south, Township Line Road on the west, and 96th Street (which forms the border between Marion and Hamilton counties) and I-465 on the north. It contains six distinct commercial districts, including Nora Center, Greenbriar, and The Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing. The Nora-Northside community is situated between Carmel to the north, Broad Ripple and downtown Indianapolis to the south, Castleton and Binford communities to the east, and Pike Township to the west. Nora was never an incorporated town, so its accepted boundaries have varied. The Nora Center community district is centered at the intersection of West 86th Street and the Monon Trail crossing, anchored by schools, public library, post office, and YMCA. In 2019, the Marion County Land Use Plan defined the boundary of Nora Center and designated it as Village Mixed-Use land use with Town Center overlay topology. The Town Center (TC) overlay is intended for new and historic neighborhood centers. Its purpose is to promote development with a high degree of pedestrian connectivity that has a slightly higher density than the surrounding area. The Nora Alliance non-profit organization supports and encourages a spirit of community cooperation in Nora Center to promote strong amenities, connected people, and a vibrant built environment.

Thornhurst Addition is a national historic district located at Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana. It encompasses 21 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section of Carmel. It developed between about 1956 and 1971, and includes notable examples of Modern Movement style architecture designed by Avriel Shull (1931-1976). It includes homes of post and beam construction with huge aluminium window expanses, slate or stone entry floors, and clerestory windows.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Micah Newby House, also known as the Newby-Bick House, is a historic home located in Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. Records indicate that the farm was acquired in August, 1871, by Micah Newby from his father, John Henley Newby. Although no precise date of construction is known, Ovid Newby, grandson of Micah Newby, documented that his father, John Absalom Newby, born 1877, was age four when the family finished the house (circa 1880). It is a two-story, nearly symmetrical T-shaped-plan frame home in the vernacular Italianate style. It was restored in the 1980s.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
