Born, Luxembourg

Born Castle (French: Château de Born) is located in the centre of the little village of Born some 8 km (5 mi) north of Wasserbillig in south-eastern Luxembourg. It has a history dating from 1286 when the Lords of Born lived there. In particular, they were associated with the families of Hattstein, Faust d'Aschaffenbourg and de Villers. Today's castle was built on the old site in the 18th century and is privately owned.

Moersdorf (Luxembourgish: Méischdref) is a small town in the commune of Mompach, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 293. It is often called the “little Switzerland of Luxembourg” by residents and tourists alike.

The Sauer Valley Bridge is a motorway (Autobahn) bridge high above the Sauer River which at this point marks the frontier between Luxembourg and Germany. It was constructed between 1984 and 1987.The bridge is 1,195 m (3,920.6 ft) long and, at the lowest point of the valley, 98 m (321.5 ft) above the valley floor. Viewed from above it is formed as a curve with a radius of 2,000 m (6,561.7 ft). Additionally, the road surface has a constant 1% gradient. The girder bridge was built with a single superstructure for both carriage ways, and is positioned approximately a kilometer to the north of Wasserbillig in Luxembourg.

Girst (Luxembourgish: Giischt) is a village in the commune of Rosport, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the village had a population of 109.

Langsur is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

The Wasserbillig Aquarium is located in Wasserbillig, a small town in the south west of Luxembourg on the German border. It consists of 15 tanks ranging in size from 300 to 40,000 litres (79 to 10,567 US gal), with fish from all five continents in their natural surroundings. Among the more exotic varieties are angelfish, neon tetra, the colourful Japanese koi and percidae from South America. But there are also species from closer to home, including eel, bream, gudgeon, asp, tench and zander.Set on a hill overlooking the River Sauer, the aquarium also has a restaurant and a children's playground. It is open from 10 am to 5 pm every day from Easter until the end of September, the rest of the year it is open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Wasserbillig (Luxembourgish: Waasserbëlleg [vaːsɐˈbələɕ] ) is a town in the commune of Mertert, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, Wasserbillig has 2,186 inhabitants, which makes it the largest town in Mertert. Wasserbillig is the administrative seat of the commune of Mertert.

Trier-Land is a Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the border with Luxembourg, north and west of Trier. The seat of the municipality is in Trier, itself not part of the municipality. The Sauer (German and Luxembourgish, German pronunciation: [ˈzaʊ̯ɐ] , Luxembourgish: [ˈzɑʊɐ] ) or Sûre (French, French pronunciation: [syʁ] ) is a river in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. A left tributary of the Moselle, its total length is 173 kilometres (107 mi). Rising near Vaux-sur-Sûre in the Ardennes in southeastern Belgium, the Sauer flows eastwards and becomes the border with Luxembourg near Martelange. It forms the border between Belgium and Luxembourg for 13 kilometres (8 mi) north of Martelange. West of Esch-sur-Sûre it flows into an artificial lake, the Upper Sûre Lake created by the Esch-sur-Sûre Dam, which gives its (French) name to the Luxembourgian commune of Lac de la Haute-Sûre. After flowing through Ettelbruck and Diekirch, the Sauer forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany for the last 50 kilometres (31 mi) of its course, passing Echternach before emptying into the Moselle in Wasserbillig. The rivers Wiltz, Alzette, White Ernz, Black Ernz, Our, and Prüm are tributaries.

Oberbillig is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The municipality is situated on the Moselle river, a situation reflected in the design of its coat of arms. There is a car ferry across the Moselle that connects Oberbillig in Germany to the city of Wasserbillig in Luxemburg.

Wasserbillig railway station (Luxembourgish: Gare Waasserbëlleg, French: Gare de Wasserbillig, German: Bahnhof Wasserbillig) is a railway station serving Wasserbillig, in the commune of Mertert, in eastern Luxembourg. It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company.The station is situated on Line 30, which connects Luxembourg City to the east of the country and Trier.
