Chizuk Amuno Synagogue (Hebrew: ק"ק חזוק אמונה), is a historic building on the National Register of Historic Places in Baltimore, Maryland. It was once used by the Chizuk Amuno Congregation. It is part of the Jewish Museum of Maryland and is currently used by the B'nai Israel Congregation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

B'nai Israel is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located in the historic Jonestown neighborhood, near downtown and the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. The synagogue is one of the oldest synagogue buildings still standing in the United States.

The Lloyd Street Synagogue is an 1845 Greek Revival style synagogue building in Baltimore, Maryland. One of the oldest synagogues in the United States, Lloyd Street was the first synagogue building erected in Maryland and is the third oldest synagogue building still standing in the United States. Lloyd Street is now owned by the Jewish Museum of Maryland and is open to the public as a museum in the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

McKim's School, also known as McKim's Free School, is a historic school located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is an archaeologically accurate Greek-style building. The front façade is designed after the Temple of Hephaestus, or Temple of Theseus, in Athens, Greece in granite. Six freestone Doric columns, 17 feet (5 meters) tall, support the entablature and pediment. The sides were derived from the north wing of the Propylaia on the Acropolis of Athens. The building site was funded by Quaker merchant Jon McKim who funded a trust for poor students managed by his son Isaac after his death in 1819. It was designed by Baltimore architects William Howard and William Small and erected in 1833. It served as a school and youth training center until 1945, when the building was adapted for use as the McKim Community Center. In 1972 the building was sold by trustees to the city.McKim's School was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It is included in the Baltimore Heritage Walk.

The Russian Night School of Baltimore was a night school that served the educational needs of Russian and Eastern European Jewish immigrants living in Baltimore. Located at 1208 East Baltimore Street, the school was founded by the Zionist activist Henrietta Szold. The school was open for a decade, closing in 1898 after the City of Baltimore agreed to open public night schools for immigrants. 5,000 students were educated at the Russian Night School. The school left a lasting impression on American education, being an early example of an educational institution offering English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

Hendler Creamery is a historic industrial complex in Jonestown, Baltimore, Maryland. Since it spans an entire block it has addresses at 1100 E. Baltimore St. and 1107 E. Fayette St. "The Hendler Creamery is historically significant for its contribution to the broad patterns of history in three areas of significance: transportation, performing arts, and industry."

The Flaghouse Homes were a Baltimore segregated public housing project built in 1955. They were located in the Jonestown section of Southeast Baltimore North of Little Italy and East of downtown bounded by Pratt Street on the South, Baltimore Street on the North, Central Avenue on the East and President Street on the West. They were demolished in 2001.

Old Town Friends' Meetinghouse, also known as Aisquith Street Meeting or Baltimore Meeting, is a historic Quaker meeting house located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story brick building which has undergone several alterations over the years. It is the oldest religious building in the city, having been built in 1781 by contractor George Mathews.Old Town Friends' Meetinghouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Jonestown is a neighborhood in the southeastern district of Baltimore. Its boundaries are the north side of Pratt Street, the west side of Central Avenue, the east side of Fallsway, and the south side of Orleans Street. The neighborhood lies north of the Little Italy, south of the Old Town, west of the Washington Hill, and east of the Downtown Baltimore neighborhoods. The southern terminus of the Jones Falls Expressway is located here. Jonestown is a historical section of southeast Baltimore established in 1732 that was laid out on 10 acres (40,000 m2) divided into twenty lots on the east side of the Jones Falls. The district is a mix of industrial, commercial and residential buildings. In the last half of the 20th century, Jonestown has shifted from a predominantly Eastern European and Jewish neighborhood into a predominantly African-American neighborhood. Public housing replaced many of the former rowhouses and townhouses throughout the area, though a historical presence is still felt. In the early 2000s, though, modern row housing replaced the public housing. Jonestown is home to Baltimore's central post office in addition to 8 Baltimore City Landmarks including the Flag House; the Jewish Museum of Maryland, home of the Lloyd Street Synagogue; the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture; the Carroll Mansion; the Phoenix Shot Tower; the Old Town Friends' Meeting House; The House at 9 North Front Street; and the McKim's School.

Flag House Courts was a public housing project built in 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland, comprising three 12-story buildings and multiple low-rise units. It had recreational facilities with bingo and dances, a swimming pool, and a basketball court. However, the complex had problems from its opening. Elevators often broke down, trapping riders for hours. Residents were forced to run fans, even in winter, because a faulty heating system made the buildings unbearably hot. There were also the problems of crime and drug dealing. By the late 1960s, gunshots at the complex were common, and elevators and stairwells reeked of urine. Residents often threw objects out of windows, including Christmas trees. Vacant apartments were turned into drug hangouts, and stairwells became violent crime areas. In 1993, the projects were renovated slightly, but problems continued. They closed in 1998 and 1999 and were imploded in 2001.

The Baltimore International College (BIC), founded in 1972, was a private, non-profit college located in Baltimore, Maryland. It offered specialized degree programs in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. The college was taken over by Stratford University in January 2012. Stratford university finally closed operations due to bankruptcy on February 2023.

St. Leo's Church is a historic Roman Catholic church complex located within the Archdiocese of Baltimore in Little Italy, Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is the 'core' of the neighborhood.
