Chop Point School

The Chops Passage is a channel in Sagadahoc County, Maine and is nearby to Chops Point, West Chops Point and Sturgeon Island. Merrymeeting Bay empties into the Kennebec River here before it heads to the Atlantic Ocean. Chop Point School and Chop Point Camp are also located on west Chops Point a Peninsula located at one side of The Chops. The Chops Passage is close to Goose Cove and Butler Cove, and marks the border between Bath, Maine, and Woolwich, Maine.

Merrymeeting Bay is a large freshwater tidal bay located in the U.S. state of Maine. Merrymeeting Bay's unusual geography defies common landform terms. It is not what is usually meant by the word bay. It is somewhat like an estuary but it has fresh water with very little salt. Geologically it is described as an "inland delta" and biologically as "tidal riverine."The head of Merrymeeting Bay is generally considered to begin at the southernmost point of Swan Island. Bordering towns and cities include Bath, Brunswick, Topsham, Bowdoinham, Dresden, and Woolwich. Public access to the bay is gained mainly from public docks on one of the contributing rivers in Brunswick, Bath, Richmond, and Bowdoinham.

The Robert Reed House, also known as the Robert P. Tristram Coffin House, is a historic house at Chop Point Road and Maine State Route 128 in Woolwich, Maine. Built in 1765, it is one of the area's oldest houses, and a distinct example of two period houses that have been joined. The house is also notable as the home of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Robert P. Tristram Coffin. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Abagadasset River is a 16 mile (25.7 km) long tributary of the Kennebec River entirely in Sagadahoc County, Maine. The river starts just south of Gardiner, and flows into Merrymeeting Bay.

Thorne Head Preserve is a 96-acre (39 ha) property administered by Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT), located at the extreme end of High Street in north Bath, Maine, which includes half a mile of shoreline alongside Whiskeag Creek and the Kennebec River. The land was purchased in 2000. The wildlife and nature preserve forms one end of the Whiskeag Trail and as such provides a trailhead kiosk with maps and rules and parking for about a dozen vehicles although there are no toilet or picnic facilities. The Preserve is open to the public free of charge from dawn till dusk daily.

The Days Ferry Historic District encompasses a rural village that grew around a ferry crossing on the Kennebec River in what is now Woolwich, Maine. The village and ferry were on the main stage route between Bath and Wiscasset until the 1870s, and retains a concentration of well-preserved 18th and early 19th-century houses. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Harward Family House is a historic house on Pork Point Road in Bowdoinham, Maine. Built about 1795 and repeatedly enlarged and altered, it is historically significant as the home of Thomas Harward, whose family's local shipyard was one of the most important elements of Bowdoinham's economy until about 1870. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Lt. Richard Hathorn House is a historic house on Maine State Route 127 in Woolwich, Maine, USA. Built in 1784, it is one of the best-preserved early Federal period houses in Maine's Mid Coast region. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Governor William King House, also known locally as the Stone House, is a historic house on Whiskeag Road in Bath, Maine. Built in 1812, this stone house's lancet-arch windows are one of the first examples of Gothic Revival architecture in New England. The house was built as a summer retreat for William King, who led the drive for Maine statehood, and served as the state's first governor. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Androscoggin River (Abenaki: Ammoscocongon) is a river in the U.S. states of Maine and New Hampshire, in northern New England. It is 178 miles (286 km) long and joins the Kennebec River at Merrymeeting Bay in Maine before its water empties into the Gulf of Maine on the Atlantic Ocean. Its drainage basin is 3,530 square miles (9,100 km2) in area. The name "Androscoggin" comes from the Eastern Abenaki term Ammoscocongon, which referred to the entire portion of the river north of the Great Falls in Lewiston, Maine. The Anglicization of the Abenaki term is likely an analogical contamination with the colonial governor Edmund Andros.
