The Grange, Broadhembury

Broadhembury is a village and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England, 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Honiton.The civil parish includes the hamlets of Kerswell, Dulford, Crammer Barton, Colliton and Luton, all to the west of the village. According to the 2001 census the civil parish had a population of 654. Broadhembury is part of the electoral ward of Tale Vale. The total population of this ward at the 2011 Census was 2,514. It is within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Payhembury is a village and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. The village is about six miles west of Honiton. At the time of the 2021 consensus the parish had a population of ~790, and it is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Broadhembury, Awliscombe, Buckerell, Feniton, Talaton, Clyst Hydon and Plymtree. The parish includes the hamlets of Colestocks, Lower Cheriton, Tale, and Upton.The parish church is dedicated to St. Mary and was mostly built in the fifteenth century. It includes a stone arcade made of Beer Stone which has several shields including the arms of the Courtenay family, a coloured roof and altar rails from the reign of Queen Anne.

Hembury is a Neolithic causewayed enclosure and Iron Age hillfort near Honiton in Devon. Its history stretches from the late fifth and early fourth millennia BC to the Roman invasion. The fort is situated on a south facing promontory at the end of a 240m high ridge in the Blackdown Hills. It lies to the north of and overlooking the River Otter valley and this location was probably chosen to give good views of the surrounding countryside as well as for defensive reasons. The Devon Archaeological Society bought the hillfort in 2022.

Kerswell Priory (alias Carswell) was a small Cluniac priory in the parish of Broadhembury in Devon, England.

Orway is a small hamlet, approximately 1.5 miles squared, situated just on the edge of the Blackdown Hills in Devon, United Kingdom. It is located in the parish of Kentisbeare, near Cullompton. Orway consists of around fourteen houses and two working farms. There is a third but it no longer operates as a working farm. Orway Crescent Farm is primarily chickens and horses. Orway Porch farm, specialising in crops (largely potatoes) and cows (Friesians), is adjacent. A stream runs through Orway Farm, past Orway Porch Farm and out through Kentisbeare. The source of the stream is very close to Forest Glade. The few children who live in Orway attend, mainly, Kentisbeare Primary School and Uffculme School. Due to the location of Uffculme School, the children are collected and returned home via bus. Orway is approximately 5.5 kilometres from Cullompton and about 10 kilometres from Honiton (as the crow flies). Directly east of Orway, at the top of the woods is North Hill. This is the home of Devon and Somerset Gliding Club. On most summer days there will be one or two gliders in the sky above Orway. DSGC offer pilot training as well as open days for those wishing to try gliding. The nearest village, Kentisbeare, has a church, a school, a post office, a public house, a parish hall and a football and cricket club.

Blackborough is a hamlet and former manor in the parish of Kentisbeare, Devon, England. It is situated within the Mid Devon district. The nearest substantial town is Cullompton, approximately 4.7 miles (7.6 km) to the south-west. Within Blackborough are situated the large mansion of Blackborough House also notable are Hayne Farm and the Old Smithy. The former neo-Gothic Early English style parish church of All Saints, built in 1838 by George Wyndham, 4th Earl of Egremont, lord of the manor, who also built Blackborough House was demolished in 1994, having become structurally unsafe. The churchyard however is still maintained and the ecclesiastical parish and parochial church council still exist.

Feniton is a village and civil parish in East Devon in the English county of Devon. The village lies about 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Honiton, 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Ottery St Mary, and 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Talaton. The parish of Feniton incorporates the hamlets of Colesworthy, Higher Cheriton and Curscombe. It covers an area of 644 hectares (1591 acres), and is surrounded, clockwise from the north, by the parishes of Payhembury, Buckerell, Gittisham, Ottery St Mary and Talaton. At the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,796, decreasing to 1,568 at the 2011 Census.The 2012 draft East Devon Local Plan recorded 716 houses within the Built Up Area Boundary. Feniton is a major part of the electoral ward called "Feniton and Buckerell". The total population of this ward at the 2011 census was 2,274.

Feniton railway station serves the village of Feniton in Devon, England. It was opened by the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) in 1860 but is now operated by South Western Railway which provides services on the West of England Main Line. It is 159 miles 24 chains (256.4 km) down the line from London Waterloo.

Blackborough House is a grade II listed privately owned country house in Blackborough, Devon, three miles (5 km) east of Cullompton. It was built in 1838 and as of 2023 is undergoing restoration.

Buckerell is a small village and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. The village is about 2.5 miles west of the nearest town, Honiton. In the 2001 census a population of 270 was recorded for the parish, which is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Awliscombe, Honiton, Gittisham, Feniton and Payhembury.
