Lake People Park

KVRU-LP (105.7 FM) is a low-power local radio station in southeast Seattle, Washington. The station was formerly named Rainier Valley Radio after the Rainier Valley area, where it broadcasts. It is owned by Southeast Effective Development (SEED), a non-profit economic development agency serving southeastern Seattle, which raised $400,000 to fund the station. The station broadcasts from studios in the Rainier Square Plaza housing development. KVRU began broadcasting online in 2015 and launched on the FM frequency in September 2017.The station serves the Rainier Valley neighborhood of Seattle, along with portions of Mount Baker, Georgetown, and Mercer Island. Currently, it is managed by a community organizer named Luzviminda Uzuri Carpenter also known as Lulu Carpenter. She is a local producer, educator, and artist.

Franklin High School is a public high school in Seattle, Washington, located in its Mount Baker neighborhood and administered by Seattle Public Schools. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,315 students and 65.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 20.2:1. There were 676 students (51.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 206 (15.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Cheasty Boulevard South is a 1.3-mile (2.1 km) route along the eastern edge of Seattle, Washington's Beacon Hill neighborhood. It was declared a City of Seattle landmark on January 15, 2003. Designed in 1903 as part of Seattle's Olmsted parks system, the property was acquired in 1910. Originally named Jefferson Boulevard (after Jefferson Park), it was renamed in 1914 after E.C. Cheasty of the Parks Board, a former commissioner of the Seattle Police Department and the Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition.

Columbia City station is a light rail station located in Seattle, Washington. It is situated between the Othello and Mount Baker stations on the 1 Line, which runs from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to Downtown Seattle and the University of Washington as part of the Link light rail system. The station consists of two at-grade side platforms between South Alaska Street and South Edmunds Street in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in the Columbia City neighborhood, part of Seattle's Rainier Valley. The station opened on July 18, 2009. Trains serve the station twenty hours a day on most days; the headway between trains is six minutes during peak periods, with less frequent service at other times. Columbia City station is also served by two King County Metro bus routes that connect it to Mount Baker, Renton and West Seattle.

The former Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 3515 South Alaska Street (corner of 36th Avenue, South) in the Columbia City neighborhood in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle, Washington, is an historic Christian Science church edifice, whose original entrance was on 36th Avenue. South. Built in 1921. was designed by Earl A. Roberts in the Greek Revival and Neo-Palladian styles. It is a contributing property in the Columbia City Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1980. Fifth Church is no longer in existence. The building is now the Rainier Arts Center. The only major exterior change made by the center was the relocation of the front entrance to Alaska Street.

Construction began in late 2005 and the station was opened for regular service on July 18, 2009. Mount Baker station is also served by five King County Metro bus routes that connect it to Downtown, Capitol Hill, Rainier Beach, the Central District, and the University District.

Columbia City is a neighborhood located in the southeastern part of Seattle, Washington in the Rainier Valley district. It has a landmark-protected historic business district and is one of the few Seattle neighborhoods with a long history of ethnic and income diversity.The neighborhood's main thoroughfares running north–south are Rainier Avenue S. and Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. The principal east–west thoroughfares are S. Alaska Street, S Orcas Street, and S. Genesee Street. Mass transit includes Sound Transit's Central Link light rail service from the Columbia City station (approx. 15 minutes to downtown Seattle and 20 minutes to SeaTac airport).

It is roughly bounded by South Hudson Street, South Alaska Street, 35th Avenue and Rainier Avenue. Its historic uses include specialty stores, multiple dwellings, single dwellings, meeting halls, schools, religious structures, and parks. Its architecture includes Mission Revival, Spanish Revival, Colonial Revival and other styles. On September 8, 1980, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Books4cars is a web-based company in Seattle, Washington, that carries used and rare books related to cars, trucks and motorcycles, such as service manuals, owners manuals and historical books. The business was started in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan, from a home collection of books by automotive engineer and mechanic Alex Voss. Books4cars relocated to Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood in 2000.
