Scout Rock (known locally as Scout Rocks), is a rock face, once a quarry, cut into a hill called Hathershelf Scout and is on the south side of the Upper Calder Valley in the village of Mytholmroyd near Hebden Bridge, England. At its height, the cliff rises 130m above the village and the exposed rock face is visible from as far as Chiserley and Luddendenfoot. The majority of the rock face is now covered in vegetation. Hathershelf Forest is situated at the base of the cliff, and a large beacon stands around half way up the hill on the western side of the cliff face.

The Calder High School is a coeducational comprehensive school. It specialises in technology, with technology rooms. It is located in the village of Mytholmroyd, in the metropolitan district of Calderdale, in northern England.

Mytholmroyd (pronounced ) is a large village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hebden Royd, in the Calderdale district, in West Yorkshire, England, 2 miles (3 km) east of Hebden Bridge. It lies in the Upper Calder Valley, 10 miles (16 km) east of Burnley and 7 miles (11 km) west of Halifax. The village, which has a population of approximately 4,000, is in the Luddendenfoot Ward of Calderdale Council.The village holds regular markets. Mytholmroyd has business parks and a high street in the centre with many independent shops. It now is a designated conservation area, with more than 21 listed buildings in the village.

Mytholmroyd railway station serves the communities of Mytholmroyd, Luddendenfoot, Midgley, Cragg Vale, and surrounding areas in West Yorkshire, England. It has disabled access via ramps instead of steps on both platforms, unusually as the station is built on a viaduct. It lies on the Calder Valley Line operated by Northern and is situated 7.5 miles (12 km) west of Halifax and 25 miles (40 km) west of Leeds.

Calderdale is a metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, England, which had a population of 211,439. It takes its name from the River Calder, and dale, a word for valley. The name Calderdale usually refers to the borough through which the upper river flows, while the actual landform is known as the Calder Valley. Several small valleys contain tributaries of the River Calder. The main towns of the borough are Brighouse, Elland, Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden. Calderdale covers part of the South Pennines, and the Calder Valley is the southernmost of the Yorkshire Dales, though it is not part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The borough was formed in 1974 by the merger of nine local government districts. Halifax is the commercial, cultural and administrative centre of the borough. Calderdale is served by Calderdale Council, which is headquartered in Halifax, with some functions based in Todmorden.

Midgley () is a hill-top village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 12 miles (20 km) east from Burnley and 4 miles (6 km) west-north-west of Halifax, and just north of the A646 road. Nearby villages are Mytholmroyd 1 mile (1.6 km) to the west-south-west, and Hebden Bridge 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to the west-north-west. The village is part of the Luddendenfoot ward of the Metropolitan borough of Calderdale, part of the Metropolitan county of West Yorkshire.Midgley has a social committee to arrange events such as open gardens, village fetes, parties, quiz nights and wine tasting. A previous Co-op store has been refurbished to become a shop and community room staffed by volunteers; it opened in February 2010. Local primary education is provided by Midgley School.

Luddendenfoot railway station served the village of Luddendenfoot in West Yorkshire, England, from 1840 until 1962.

The Upper Calder Valley lies in West Yorkshire, in northern England, and covers the towns of Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Luddendenfoot, and Sowerby Bridge, as well as a number of smaller settlements such as Portsmouth, Cornholme, Walsden, and Eastwood. The valley is the upper valley of the River Calder. Major tributaries of the Upper Calder include the Walsden Water, which flows through the large village of Walsden to join the Calder at Todmorden; the Hebden Water, which flows through Hebden Dale to join the Calder at Hebden Bridge; Cragg Brook, which flows through Cragg Vale to join the Calder at Mytholmroyd, and the largest, the River Ryburn, which joins the Calder at Sowerby Bridge. The Upper Calder Valley falls entirely within the much larger metropolitan district of Calderdale. The towns of the Upper Calder are situated linearly along the valley, which cuts through the eastern slopes of the Pennines from Portsmouth in the west to Sowerby Bridge, a market town on the outskirts of Halifax, in the east.

Boulderclough is a small village in the Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. The village is situated between Sowerby at the south and Mytholmroyd at the north, and is approximately 3 miles (5 km) west from the centre of the town of Halifax. The village contains a chapel. The village public house closed some years ago; the nearest pub is at Sowerby Castle Hill half-a-mile to the south-east. There are footpaths, and a river that runs by a small woodland area.

Chiserley is a hamlet located on a hilltop near the town of Hebden Bridge, in the county of West Yorkshire, England. The Hamlet falls within the Calder ward of Calderdale.

Wadsworth is a civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 1,456, increasing to 1,603 at the 2011 Census, and was, until 1974, part of Hepton Rural District. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the main settlements in the parish are Old Town, Chiserley and Pecket Well. It was named a berewick of Wakefield in the Domesday Book of 1086, and thus subsequently recorded as a subinfeudatory manor, before its subsequent extinguishment in the nineteenth century. From the seventeenth century it was also one of five townships forming the chapelry of Heptonstall.

Hebden Bridge signal box is a Grade II listed former Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway signal box, located close to Hebden Bridge railway station in West Yorkshire, England. Built in 1891, it is one of only a few remaining L&YR signal boxes to survive in anything like original condition.In July 2013, it was one of 26 "highly distinctive" signal boxes listed by Ed Davey, minister for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, in a joint initiative by English Heritage and Network Rail to preserve and provide a window into how railways were operated in the past.
