Richard Gahr High School, often simply known as Gahr High School, is a public, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) magnet high school in Cerritos, California, serving grades 9-12. Gahr High is one of three comprehensive high schools in the ABC Unified School District. The school is a two-time (2007, 2021) California Distinguished School.

Valley Christian High School (VCHS) is a private Christian high school located in Cerritos, California. It is one of the largest in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. It was founded in 1935 and is part of Valley Christian Schools, a school system with 4 campuses (preschool, elementary, middle and high school) enrolling more than 1300 students. In 2011, during its accreditation reviews, it received the highest degree of commendation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Valley Christian Schools is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Excelsior High School, originally named Excelsior Union High School, was founded in 1903 and located on Walnut Street in Norwalk, California. The current campus was built in 1924. The campus sustained substantial damage to the administration building, auditorium, and other buildings in the 1933 Long Beach earthquake (as did the Norwalk Grammar School which occupied the former Excelsior Union High school building). Although the earthquake occurred after school hours, one student died when an internal wall in a portion of the boy's gym failed. Its last graduating class was 1981. The Excelsior Union High School District was composed of a single school which supported a district including present day Norwalk, Cerritos, Artesia, and Bellflower. In 1919, Excelsior Union High School had seven teachers, and an enrollment of ninety-eight. After World War II, the area rapidly changed from agricultural to residential and several new high schools were added to the district to absorb the large increase in population, including Bellflower, Artesia, Norwalk, La Mirada, and Gahr High Schools. In the 1950s, Bellflower High School was realigned under the Bellflower Unified School District. In the mid-1960s the changing needs of the area were the subject of a referendum to restructure the governance of area schools and realign the high schools under three school districts. The referendum passed and with the revised district boundaries, Excelsior Union High School's name was changed to Excelsior High School and it was made part of the Norwalk–La Mirada Unified School District. For much of its history, the student body was known as "The Pilots" and the school mascot was Peter Pilot. In the late 1960s the cartoon character Snoopy was adopted as the mascot. The school colors were green and white. The school and campus still exist at the corner of Alondra and Pioneer Boulevards in Norwalk. It is now the home to the Norwalk–La Mirada Adult School. Since its closure, the campus has been the location for the filming of Grease 2 and High School U.S.A. and the 1982 TV series Square Pegs. Excelsior Adult School is also the home field for Excelsior's former archrival, the Norwalk Lancers Football team. During the late 80s till 1992, the football field and baseball facilities were also home of the Leffingwell Christian High School Lions and the Pioneer Baptist High School Patriots.

The Los Angeles County Fire Museum is a public museum dedicated to the history of the Los Angeles County Fire Department in Los Angeles County, California. The Museum has 60 antique fire engines in its collection, including fire engines from the 1860s through just-retired apparatus. Its location for public exhibits is at 16400 Bellflower Blvd, Bellflower, CA, on the ground floor of the Bellflower Mayne Events Center. The Museum is open four days a week. The Flora Vista property is now the Museum's restoration shop. This is not open to the public. This collection includes fire engines pulled to fires by men, horse-drawn steam engines, Los Angeles County Fire Department equipment dating back to the 1920s, the "Disneyland" fire engine, Model T fire engines, and 1950s fire engines. The extensive collection of rigs is changed often as the Museum directors display various rigs from the shop and at South Gate. The most famous exhibits include the featured vehicles of the fictional Fire Station 51, Squad 51, and both trucks designated Engine 51, from the 1970s television series, Emergency!. The Museum was located at 9834 Flora Vista St, Bellflower, California from 2008 to mid-2018 and now houses its public collection on the ground floor of the Mayne Events Center at 16400 Bellflower Blvd, Bellflower.

Bellflower is a planned light rail station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It is part of the West Santa Ana Branch Transit Corridor project. The segment of the corridor is expected to begin operations in 2035.

Mayfair High School is a middle and high school in the Bellflower Unified School District in the city of Lakewood, California. The school first opened in 1959. The student population is approximately 3616 in grades 7 through 12. Mayfair serves students in the cities of Lakewood, Bellflower, Cerritos, as well as other surrounding cities, though the students not from Cerritos, Bellflower, or Lakewood usually need special waivers to attend.
