Richard Gahr High School, often simply known as Gahr High School, is a public, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) magnet high school in Cerritos, California, serving grades 9-12. Gahr High is one of three comprehensive high schools in the ABC Unified School District. The school is a two-time (2007, 2021) California Distinguished School.

Fremont University, formerly Fremont College, is a private for-profit college in Cerritos, California, USA. It offers vocational degree programs with a focus on serving working adults.

Valley Christian High School (VCHS) is a private Christian high school located in Cerritos, California. It is one of the largest in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. It was founded in 1935 and is part of Valley Christian Schools, a school system with 4 campuses (preschool, elementary, middle and high school) enrolling more than 1300 students. In 2011, during its accreditation reviews, it received the highest degree of commendation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Valley Christian Schools is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Since September 1971, the Los Cerritos Center has been an integral part of the city of Cerritos' tax revenue. The mall is the city's largest revenue source, producing $581 per square foot in sales ($296 million total) in 2010. The tax revenue generated from the Los Cerritos Center for its host city totals to approximately $3 million a year. The facility is owned by Macerich & GIC Private Limited.

The Cerritos Auto Square is an automobile retail center located in the city of Cerritos, California. Cerritos Auto Square states that it is the largest auto mall in the world with 29 import and domestic marques.

Cerritos College is a public community college in Norwalk, California. It offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions.

College Hospital is an acute psychiatric hospital in Cerritos, California.College Hospital has been open since 1973 and has specialty programs in dealing with geriatric, adolescent and pediatric mental health issues. There is also a program specifically created to address problems in the Latino community with the services of Spanish speaking and bi-cultural psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors. The umbrella College Hospital organization has three hospitals in California located in Cerritos, Costa Mesa and Long Beach (formally called pacific hospital). They also staff a 24-hour on-call crisis team. The Costa Mesa facility has medical, surgical and both adult and teen psychiatry units. College Hospital Long Beach is the only facility with 24-hour emergency services available on site. It is a Full-service, for-profit, teaching hospital with acute care and psychiatric units on site.

Artesia (Spanish for "artesian aquifer") is a city in southeast Los Angeles County, California. Artesia was incorporated on May 29, 1959, and is one of Los Angeles County's Gateway Cities. The city has a 2010 census population of 16,522. Artesia is surrounded on the west, south, and east sides by Cerritos, with Norwalk to the north. Artesia is the home of the East West Ice Palace, an ice rink which is co-owned by Michelle Kwan. It was also the childhood home of former First Lady Pat Nixon, who lived there from 1914 to 1931, though the property on which she grew up is now part of neighboring Cerritos.

Pioneer is a planned light rail station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It will be the southern terminus of the West Santa Ana Branch Transit Corridor project, located in Artesia at Pioneer Boulevard. The segment of the corridor is expected to begin operations in 2035. The route may later on be further expanded along the West Santa Ana right-of-way, but Metro has not yet announced any plans to do so. The station is located adjacent to the former Pacific Electric West Santa Ana Branch Artesia station, built in 1906. Passenger services operated until 1950.

The Artesia Water Tower is a water tower in Artesia, California. It is one of the main landmarks in the city and can hold 50,000 US gal (190,000 L), although it is inactive. Not much is known about the tower's history. The city is aiming to have the tower declared as a historical landmark. It appeared in the film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and the sitcom My Name Is Earl.

The Holy Family Catholic Church is a Catholic church located in Artesia, California. Established in 1930, it holds masses in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese. It is named after the Holy Family of Jesus and is a part of the San Pedro Pastoral Region in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The church also contains a school, Our Lady of Fatima (OLF), named after one of Mary, mother of Jesus' titles. As of 2014, it has over 15,000 active parish members and 80% of the mass attendees are Filipino as of 2019. Rev. John Ernesto Ma. Cordero, MMHC, currently serves as its pastor. Its logo reads "Go, Therefore, and Make Disciples of All Nations...," quoting Matthew 28:19.

Bellwood General Hospital was a hospital in Bellflower, California. It was closed April 6, 2003.
