The Baldwin County School District is a public school district in Baldwin County, Georgia, United States, based in Milledgeville. It serves the communities of Milledgeville and Hardwick.

Riverbend Correctional Facility (RBCF) is a privately operated, medium-security prison for men, owned and operated by the GEO Group under contract with the Georgia Department of Corrections. The Baldwin State Prison, previously the Baldwin Correctional Institution and the Georgia Women's Correctional Institution (GWCI), is a prison located in Milledgeville, Georgia, United States, with a Hardwick postal address. The prison has a capacity of 900. After complaints in the early 1990s by more than 200 women of sexual abuse by guards, an investigation was conducted. More than a dozen guards were prosecuted. The state decided to move the women to other prison facilities for a total change in culture. This facility now houses only adult male felons, with a capacity of 992. Also on the prison grounds is a boot camp which houses 240. It was constructed and opened in 1979. It was renovated in 1989 and re-opened in 1990. It is a medium security prison. It is a part of the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Lockerly Arboretum (50 acres) is a private, nonprofit arboretum located at 1534 Irwinton Road, Milledgeville, Georgia. It is open daily, except Sundays, without charge. The arboretum was chartered in 1965 on the grounds of the antebellum "Lockerly" (originally "Rose Hill") mansion (1852) constructed by Judge & Mrs. Daniel R. Tucker whose grounds were influenced by their friend A. J. Downing. In 1998, Col. Oliver N. Worley donated an additional 200 acres (0.81 km2) to the foundation for an Environmental Education facility. The arboretum is a horticultural laboratory, with collections of azalea, camellia, conifers, holly, rhododendron, and viburnum, as well as daylily, iris, and a greenhouse for cactus and tropical plants. The Rose Hill mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

New additions since 2003 include a classroom wing, a JROTC building, a fine arts wing, cafeteria and a vocational building. Baldwin is the only public high school in Baldwin County, and the largest of the three total high schools. The other two are private schools: John Milledge Academy and Georgia Military College.
