Burnham Beeches

Caldicott Preparatory School is a prep school for boys aged 7–13 in southern Buckinghamshire, England.

Egypt is a hamlet in the South Bucks district of Buckinghamshire, England. It is located within Farnham Royal civil parish, just to the north of Farnham Common, and on the edge of Burnham Beeches. It is thought that the hamlet was so named because it was a common settling point for Romani travellers, and the term "gypsy" for such people derives from the Greek Αιγύπτιοι (Aigyptioi), meaning Egyptian.

Burnham Beeches Golf Club is a golf club, located in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England. Established in 1891, it is the oldest golf club in Buckinghamshire.Burnham Beeches' 18-hole golf course was built on land owned by the City of London Corporation. In 1909 the land was bought by Lord Burnham and leased to the club. It continued to be leased from the Burnham Trust until 2014, when the club purchased the land outright. Early in the twentieth century, J.H. Taylor was consulted on changes to the course.In 1984, Burnham Beeches hosted the White Horse Whisky Challenge, a tournament on the WPGA circuit, which later became known as the Ladies European Tour. The winner of the tournament was Federica Dassù of Italy.

South Bucks was one of four local government districts in the non-metropolitan county of Buckinghamshire, in South East England. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the Local Government Act 1972, by the amalgamation of the area of Beaconsfield Urban District with part of Eton Rural District. The district was originally named Beaconsfield; it was renamed to South Bucks on 1 April 1980, following the passing of a resolution by the district council. The name was formally 'South Bucks' rather than 'South Buckinghamshire'. The district was abolished on 31 March 2020 and its area is now administered by the unitary Buckinghamshire Council. Farnham Common is a village in Buckinghamshire, England, 3 miles north of Slough and 3 miles south of Beaconsfield, on the A355 road. It adjoins the ancient woodland of Burnham Beeches, has an area of 2.5 miles and a population of around 6,000. It is in the civil parish of Farnham Royal.

Dorneywood is an 18th-century house near Burnham in southern Buckinghamshire, England. Originally a Georgian farmhouse, it has Victorian and later additions, and following a fire in 1910, was remodelled in 1919 by Sir Robert Lorimer.It was given to the National Trust by Lord Courtauld-Thomson in 1947 as a grace-and-favour country home for a senior member of the Government, usually a Secretary of State or Minister of the Crown. The Dorneywood Trust has the objective of 'maintaining the mansion house and gardens of Dorneywood'.

Littleworth Common is a 16.1-hectare (40-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Farnham Common in Buckinghamshire. It is Common land owned by South Bucks District Council.The site was formerly open heathland, most of which has developed into birch and oak woodland. Some remnants of acid heathland survive, and marshy areas and two large ponds have uncommon communities, including the nationally rare starfruit. Wet flushes have extensive bog mosses. Purple hairstreak butterfly larvae feed on the oak trees.There is access from Boveney Wood Lane and Little Road.

Littleworth is a hamlet in Burnham civil parish, in the South Bucks district of Buckinghamshire, England. There are some cottages and houses around Littleworth Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest that covers 200 acres (81 ha). There are two pubs (The Blackwood Arms and the Jolly Woodman) and Dropmore Infant School. To the west are the fenced off grounds of Dropmore House which was built in about 1792 for William Wyndham and a gatehouse to it called Oak Lodge.

Beaconsfield services is a motorway service station on the M40 motorway in Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, England. It is operated by Extra, and opened on 17 March 2009. It is the fourth and most recent of the service areas to be built on the 89-mile motorway which links London, Oxford and Birmingham. At its opening, it was the largest motorway service area in the United Kingdom. The petrol station with 36 pumps is also the largest filling station in the country. Petrol stations are provided by Shell and a hotel is operated by Ibis Budget.

Farnham Royal is a village and civil parish within Buckinghamshire, England. It is in the south of the county, immediately north of Slough (with which it is contiguous), and around 22 miles west of Charing Cross, Central London. Within the parish boundary is the village of Farnham Common and the hamlet of Farnham Park.

Cocksherd Wood is a 4.8-hectare (12-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Slough in Berkshire. It is owned by Slough Borough Council and managed by Evergreen 2000. The reserve is known locally as Bluebell Wood.

Britwell is a residential housing estate and civil parish in the north west of Slough, Berkshire, South East England. It is about 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross, the centremost point of London. The name Britwell derives from the old English beorhtan wiellan meaning 'bright, clear well'.
