Burnham Beeches Golf Club

Dorneywood is an 18th-century house near Burnham in southern Buckinghamshire, England. Originally a Georgian farmhouse, it has Victorian and later additions, and following a fire in 1910, was remodelled in 1919 by Sir Robert Lorimer.It was given to the National Trust by Lord Courtauld-Thomson in 1947 as a grace-and-favour country home for a senior member of the Government, usually a Secretary of State or Minister of the Crown. The Dorneywood Trust has the objective of 'maintaining the mansion house and gardens of Dorneywood'.

Burnham Beeches is a 374.6-hectare (926-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest situated west of Farnham Common in the village of Burnham, Buckinghamshire. The southern half is owned by the Corporation of London and is open to the public. It is also a National Nature Reserve and a Special Area of Conservation.Burnham Beeches came into ownership of the City of London Corporation after the land came up for auction in 1879. The auction followed the death of the land owner who had permitted public access. Its special status was recognised and discussed in the House of Commons. The land failed to sell at the auction. Subsequently Sir Henry Peek purchased the land at the reserve price £12,000. Sir Henry Peek sold 374 acres (151 hectares) to the City of London Corporation (£6,000), retaining the "enclosed" portion of the land of 175 acres (71 hectares). Purchase was funded from duties levied on grain landed at the Port of London. Money was also spent on roads to improve access (estimated cost £500), one of these is named after Sir Henry. At this time local authorities were encouraged to provide open spaces with public access to provide some relief from polluted towns and cities. Littleworth Common is a 16.1-hectare (40-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Farnham Common in Buckinghamshire. It is Common land owned by South Bucks District Council.The site was formerly open heathland, most of which has developed into birch and oak woodland. Some remnants of acid heathland survive, and marshy areas and two large ponds have uncommon communities, including the nationally rare starfruit. Wet flushes have extensive bog mosses. Purple hairstreak butterfly larvae feed on the oak trees.There is access from Boveney Wood Lane and Little Road.

Littleworth is a hamlet in Burnham civil parish, in the South Bucks district of Buckinghamshire, England. There are some cottages and houses around Littleworth Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest that covers 200 acres (81 ha). There are two pubs (The Blackwood Arms and the Jolly Woodman) and Dropmore Infant School. To the west are the fenced off grounds of Dropmore House which was built in about 1792 for William Wyndham and a gatehouse to it called Oak Lodge.

Cocksherd Wood is a 4.8-hectare (12-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Slough in Berkshire. It is owned by Slough Borough Council and managed by Evergreen 2000. The reserve is known locally as Bluebell Wood.

Lambourne Golf Club is a golf club in Dropmore, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located about a mile north of Burnham and about 3 miles northwest of Slough, not far from the Burnham Beeches Golf Club. It was established in 1992 and the course was designed by Donald Steel.

Burnham is a large village and civil parish that lies north of the River Thames in Buckinghamshire, between the towns of Maidenhead and Slough, about 24 miles west of Charing Cross, London. It is probably best known for the nearby Burnham Beeches woodland. The village is served by Burnham railway station on the main line between London Paddington and Reading. The M4 motorway passes through the south of the parish.

South Bucks was one of four local government districts in the non-metropolitan county of Buckinghamshire, in South East England. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the Local Government Act 1972, by the amalgamation of the area of Beaconsfield Urban District with part of Eton Rural District. The district was originally named Beaconsfield; it was renamed to South Bucks on 1 April 1980, following the passing of a resolution by the district council. The name was formally 'South Bucks' rather than 'South Buckinghamshire'. The district was abolished on 31 March 2020 and its area is now administered by the unitary Buckinghamshire Council. Burnham Grammar School (BGS) is a co-educational grammar school in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. In October 2011 the school became an academy. It takes students aged 11–18, with approximately 900 on roll.The school has an all-weather full-sized tiger-turf sports pitch that the Wycombe Wanderers first team occasionally train on, complete with floodlights and changing room facilities. In September 2004 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) awarded the school specialist school status as a science college.In May 2011 the school applied for academy status in order to be released from local education authority (LEA) control. The school has a vertical tutoring system and students are split into four houses: Winton – after Nicholas Winton Roosevelt – after Eleanor Roosevelt King – after Martin Luther King Jr. Ali – after Muhammad AliThe current headteacher is Andrew Gillespie, who took over from Catherine Long in January 2008. Previous to this, he was a regular teacher at the school. For the last seven years, Burnham Grammar School has been the location of "Lighthouse Burnham". Lighthouse is a holiday week for children run by Christians from many local churches.

Dropmore Park is a private estate located along Dropmore Road, north of Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England, about 220 acres (89 ha) in size. The park with its buildings, including Dropmore House, have Grade I listed building status. Dropmore House is one of the most important buildings in south Buckinghamshire.

Britwell is a residential housing estate and civil parish in the north west of Slough, Berkshire, South East England. It is about 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross, the centremost point of London. The name Britwell derives from the old English beorhtan wiellan meaning 'bright, clear well'.
