The Green Man was a public house at 1308 High Road, Whetstone, north London, that dated from the 15th century and subsequently redeveloped several times. It closed in the late 20th century and is now a motor repair business.

Barnet House is an eleven-story office block at 1255 High Road, on the corner of Baxendale, at Whetstone, London, N20.It was built as an office block, Ever Ready House, the headquarters of the British Ever Ready Electrical Company, before later becoming offices for the London Borough of Barnet including for the council's housing department. In March 2017, it was announced that it would be converted into 254 flats, some as small as 16 square metres. The size of the smallest flats in the building was criticised by local councillors with one saying "These rabbit hutch homes would turn Barnet House into a human filing cabinet".In December 2017 it was reported that the planning application to convert the building to residential accommodation had been rejected by the London Mayor Sadiq Khan on the grounds that the application included too few affordable homes.

Christ Church at Whetstone was a United Reformed Church in Whetstone, north London. It was founded before 1788 and closed in 2020.

Oakleigh Park is a loosely defined district in the north of the London Borough of Barnet. It adjoins Whetstone, and is often regarded either as part of that or of East Barnet, although the East Coast Main Line forms a border with the latter. The name is a relatively modern invention, after the eponymous station which opened in 1873. Since 2002 'Oakleigh' has also been the name of the electoral ward for the area, formed from parts of the abolished Hadley and Friern Barnet wards. The principal road is Oakleigh Road North. Turnings off this road include Oakleigh Park North, Oakleigh Avenue and Oakleigh Park South. There is a small shopping parade on Netherlands Road just to the north of the railway station.

Totteridge & Whetstone () is a London Underground station in Whetstone in the London Borough of Barnet, North London. The station is the penultimate one on the High Barnet branch of the Northern line, between Woodside Park and High Barnet stations, in Travelcard Zone 4. It was first built in 1872. It is on the north side of Totteridge Lane (A5109), to the east of the Dollis Brook, the traditional boundary between Totteridge and Whetstone, so narrowly in the latter.

Whetstone is a place in the London Borough of Barnet, bearing the postcode N20. It is to the east of Totteridge, and these areas are known together as Totteridge and Whetstone. Whetstone is around 8.5 miles North of Charing Cross and is within the boundaries of the historic county of Middlesex. The combined areas of Totteridge and Whetstone was, at the outset of the 21st century, found to be the 63rd-richest of the more than 9,000 wards of the United Kingdom.The High Road is the A1000, formerly known as the Great North Road, parts of it still bear this name. Until the late 19th century its tiny developed area was one of two main settlements in the ancient parish of Friern Barnet, the other being Colney Hatch. It was thus the northernmost settlement in the Ossulstone hundred. Whetstone is also the northernmost part of the parish of Finchley.

The Lawrence Campe Almshouses at Friern Barnet Lane, Whetstone, London, are grade II listed buildings with Historic England.The almshouses were built around 1612 to provide accommodation for 12 poor people. They were funded by Lawrence Campe (died 1613), a draper's merchant in the City of London, and the residents were given an allowance of one shilling per month.The houses are administered by Lawrence Campe's Almshouse Trust. They are some of the oldest almshouses in London.

Sha'arei Tsedek North London Reform Synagogue, a member of the Movement for Reform Judaism, is a synagogue in Whetstone in the London Borough of Barnet. Founded in 1961, it was previously known as Southgate and District Reform Synagogue.Its principal rabbi is Shulamit Ambalu.

All Saints' Church is a Church of England church in Oakleigh Road North, Oakleigh Park, London. The church is sometimes referred to as All Saints' Friern Barnet. It is a grade II listed building.

Swan Lane Open Space is a public park in Whetstone in the London Borough of Barnet. It is the smallest of Barnet's sixteen 'Premier Parks'. It has a children's playground, a café, and a pond which was formerly used for model boating but is now covered with reeds and water plants. Much of it is mown grass and trees, including giant redwoods and a Cedar of Lebanon, but it also has more natural areas managed for nature conservation.The park was created around the 1930s on the site of former gravel pits beside a nineteenth-century estate. The park was known locally as 'The Pits' in the 1960s and probably earlier. The pond is a natural spring. It was the scene of a tragedy in the early 1920s when children were drowned while playing in the disused gravel workings. According to a history of a local school, St John's: "Whetstone was the site of a number of gravel pits, particularly in the locality of Swan Lane. They are commemorated in the name still used for the recreation area there. School documents record a tragedy on these pits, which were then disused, in 1925, when a 10 year-year-old boy who attended the school was drowned with two friends when a raft on which they were floating capsized". In the early 1970s the park featured in one of the Monty Python films when a scene from the 'Hells Grannies' sketches was filmed in the upper part above the keepers lodge. The Wendy House that stood nearby during the 1960s and 1970s can be seen in shot. Rose beds by the café have been planted in memory of two local residents. There is access from Swan Lane, Whetstone High Road and Woodside Lane.

Oakleigh Park railway station serves Oakleigh Park in the London Borough of Barnet, north London, England. It is 8 miles 30 chains (13.5 km) down the line from London King's Cross, in Travelcard Zone 4. The station is managed and served by Great Northern. Finchley Catholic High School is a boys' secondary school with a coeducational sixth form in North Finchley, part of the London Borough of Barnet, England. The current head teacher is Niamh Arnull, who had previously been a member of the teaching staff in the 1990s.
