Belmar is a commuter rail station in the borough of Belmar, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States on New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. The station is not accessible for those with disabilities as part of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990.

The Shark River is a river in eastern New Jersey that rises in eastern Monmouth County and flows southeast for 11.7 miles (18.8 km), continuing through Neptune Township and Wall Township. Shark River Draw is a moveable bridge over the Shark River Inlet, an inlet at the mouth of the Shark River in the towns of Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, just west of the Atlantic Ocean.The bascule bridge, built in 1937, carries NJ Transit Rail Operations North Jersey Coast Line between the Bradley Beach and Belmar stations. The bridge was built in 1937 by the New York and Long Branch Railroad. It underwent a major 5-stage rehabilitation in 2013–2014.The drawbridge runs parallel and downstream to the fixed crossing of the New Jersey Route 35 and upstream of the moveable crossing of New Jersey Route 71 bridge to the east, together with which it is subject to the opening regulations as set out in Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

The Belmar School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Belmar, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States.The district also serves students from Lake Como who attend as part of a sending/receiving relationship. The school was constructed in 1909 and has had additions built in 1929, 1949, 1969 and 1993. There are 61 certified staff members, including the district's administrators, teachers, nurses and child study team personnel, with an additional 12 paraprofessionals. West Belmar is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) within Wall Township, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. At the 2010 census, the CDP's population was 2,493.

Belmar is a borough situated on the Jersey Shore, within Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,907, an increase of 113 (+2.0%) from the 2010 census count of 5,794, which in turn reflected a decline of 251 (−4.2%) from the 6,045 counted in the 2000 census.What is now Belmar was originally incorporated as Ocean Beach borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 9, 1885, from portions of Wall Township, based on the results of a referendum held two days earlier. On April 16, 1889, it became the City of Elcho borough, which lasted for a few weeks until the name was changed to the City of Belmar Borough on May 14, 1889. The city acquired its current name, Borough of Belmar, on November 20, 1890. The borough's name means "beautiful sea" in Italian.

The school operates under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton. The Belmar Public Library is the public library of Belmar, New Jersey located at 517 10th Avenue. The library circulates about 15,000 items annually from its collection of 32,000 volumes. The Jersey Shore town in 2010 had year-round population of about 6,000. The library is one of New Jersey's original thirty-six Carnegie libraries. The library is located at the corner of E Street and 10th Avenue in Belmar, two names later made famous by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and resulting in a large replica of Springsteen's Fender Esquire guitar being placed there.

Academy Charter High School is a four-year charter public high school located in Lake Como, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, that operates independently of the local school district under the terms of a charter granted by the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education. The school serves residents of Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Neptune, Avon-by-the-Sea, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Deal, Interlaken and Lake Como. Students are accepted at the school on a lottery basis with seats in the incoming freshman class allocated in proportion to the population of each of the participating municipalities and any remaining unfilled seats are then offered to residents of other communities.Academy Charter High School opened in September 1998. Maximum enrollment authorized by the state is 220 students.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 172 students and 18.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.6:1.
