Shōryaku-ji

Iwaigawa Dam is a concrete gravity dam located in Nara prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for flood control. The catchment area of the dam is 3.3 km2. The dam impounds about 5 ha of land when full and can store 810 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started in 1974 and completed in 2008.

Enshō-ji (圓照寺 or 円照寺) is a Buddhist temple complex in Nara founded by Queen Bunchi, daughter of Emperor Go-Mizunoo, in 1656. Together with Chūgū-ji and Hokke-ji, it is considered one of the Three Yamato Monzeki (大和三門跡), or imperial temples, belonging to the Myōshin-ji school of Rinzai Zen. The temple served as model for Gesshū-ji (月修寺) in Yukio Mishima's Spring Snow and was used as one of the locations for the filming of its 2005 dramatization. The temple is also home to the head office of the ikebana school called Yamamura Go-ryū (山村御流). The temple is not open to the public.

Nara Saho College (奈良佐保短期大学, Nara Saho Tanki Daigaku) is a private junior college in the city of Nara in Nara Prefecture, Japan. The predecessor of the school, founded in 1931, was chartered as a women's junior college in 1965. In 2001 it became coeducational, adopting the present name at the same time.

Byakugō-ji (白毫寺) is a Buddhist temple in Nara, Japan. A number of wooden statues of the Heian and Kamakura periods have been designated Important Cultural Properties and the temple's five-coloured camellias are a Prefectural Natural Monument.

The Himegamisha Shrine (Japanese: 比売神社, Himegamisha) is a Shinto shrine in the city of Nara, in Nara Prefecture, Japan. It is built in 1981 by the people of this neighborhood on the tomb called Hime-zuka (princess' tomb) that is estimated to be a burial place of Princess Tōchi, an Empress-consort of Emperor Kōbun. It is a sessha (subsidiary shrine) of the Kagami Shrine.

Nara University of Education (奈良教育大学, Nara kyōiku daigaku) is a national university in Nara, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1888, and it was chartered as a university in 1949.

Akatsuchiyama Kofun (赤土山古墳) is a Kofun period keyhole-shaped burial mound, located in the Ichinomoto-cho neighborhood of the city of Tenri, Nara in the Kansai region of Japan. The tumulus was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1992. It is one of the tumuli that make up the Tōdaijiyama Kofun Group, which consists of five keyhole-shaped tombs and 40 to 50 circular and square tombs that date mainly from the early to middle Kofun period.

Shin-Yakushi-ji (新薬師寺) is a Buddhist temple of the Kegon sect in Nara, Japan. It was founded in 747 by Empress Kōmyō. Initially a large complete Shichidō garan temple, it suffered from fire damage and deteriorated during the Heian period. The temple was revived during the Kamakura period. Only one building, the present main hall or Hon-dō (本堂), has survived from the 8th century. All other structures date to the Kamakura period. Shin-Yakushi-ji owns several cultural assets. The Hon-dō, the principal image of Yakushi Nyorai and eleven statues of the Twelve Heavenly Generals have been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the government of Japan as National Treasures.

Irie Taikichi Memorial Museum of Photography Nara City (入江泰吉記念奈良市写真美術館, Irie Taikichi Kinen Nara-shi Shashin Bijutsukan) opened in Nara, Japan, in 1992. Located near Shin-Yakushi-ji and designed by Kishō Kurokawa, the Museum was formerly known as the Nara City Museum of Photography (奈良市写真美術館). The collection includes the complete oeuvre of Irie Taikichi (1905 – 1992), some 80,000 works; a set of 1,025 Meiji and Taishō glass plates by Kudō Risaburō (工藤利三郎) (1848 – 1929) that are a Registered Tangible Cultural Property; and photographs by Tsuda Yoho (津田洋甫) (1923 – 2014).

Tōdaijiyama Sword, also known as Tōdaijiyama Kofun Iron Sword (東大寺山古墳鉄剣 Tōdaijiyama Kofun Tekken) in Japan is an ancient iron sword excavated in Tōdaijiyama kofun in Nara Prefecture, Japan. The sword was forged in China in the 2nd century and it's the oldest inscribed iron sword which has been excavated in Japan. Its inscription is the important source of the ancient diplomatic relations between China and Japan and its domestic politics.

Kasugayama Primeval Forest (春日山原始林, Kasugaya-yama genshi-rin) is an area of 298.6 hectares (738 acres) of primeval forest in Nara, Japan, that is protected as a Special Natural Monument and which forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara. Located in Nara Park to the east of the grounds of Kasuga Taisha and a Chinju no Mori, hunting and logging on Mount Kasuga have been prohibited since 841.

Kasuga-taisha (春日大社) is a Shinto shrine in Nara, Nara Prefecture, Japan. It is the shrine of the Fujiwara family, established in 768 CE and rebuilt several times over the centuries. The interior is famous for its many bronze lanterns, as well as the many stone lanterns that lead up to the shrine. The architectural style Kasuga-zukuri takes its name from Kasuga Shrine's honden (sanctuary). The Torii at Kasuga-taisha is one of the oldest in Shinto and helped influence the style of Torii seen across much of Japan. Kasuga Shrine, and the Kasugayama Primeval Forest near it, are registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara". The path to Kasuga Shrine passes through a deer park. In the park, deer are able to roam freely and are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods that inhabit the shrine and surrounding mountainous terrain. Kasuga Shrine and the deer have been featured in several paintings and works of art of the Nambokucho Period. Over three thousand stone lanterns line the way. The Man'yo Botanical Garden is adjacent to the shrine.
