The Church of Our Lady the Merciful (Russian: Церковь иконы Божией Матери Милующей), is a former Russian Orthodox Church in St Petersburg, Russia currently under restoration. It is located in the Vasileostrovsky District, on Vasilievsky Island, at the address 100, Bolshoi Prospekt. During Soviet times the building was used as a training center for naval rescue divers. The church was the prototype for the Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt. The government began the process of return to the Russian Orthodox Church in 2006 and the official process was concluded in 2012. It is under restoration to its original use.

The Kuryokhin Center, or more extended the Sergey Kuryokhin Center for Modern Art, is a non-profit cultural centre in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The centre was founded in 2004 and named after the Russian avant garde composer Sergey Kuryokhin. The main space of the centre has a capacity of 2000 people. The venue is located in an old cinema building.

Erarta Galleries are the three galleries established in the 2010s in London (UK), Hong Kong (China) and St. Petersburg (Russia) with a goal to promote contemporary art in the corresponding country and outside its borders. The project itself is a private institution. A promotional process is based on reinvestments from sales of art pieces back into the project. In 2016, two of these galleries were closed; only the gallery in St. Petersburg survived up to now.

Erarta is the largest private museum of contemporary art in Russia, located in Saint Petersburg.The name of Erarta Museum is derived from uniting two words, “Era” and “Arta”, whose combination can be translated from Russian as “the era of art”.The museum has been recognised as one of the “5 Cultural Gems” in Saint-Petersburg by National Geographic.

Vasileostrovsky District (Russian: Василеостро́вский райо́н) is a district of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 214,625; down from 236,856 recorded in the 2002 Census.

The Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, or AARI (Russian: Арктический и антарктический научно-исследовательский институт, abbreviated as ААНИИ) is the oldest and largest Russian research institute in the field of comprehensive studies of Arctic and Antarctica. It is located in Saint Petersburg. The AARI has numerous departments, such as those of oceanography, glaciology, meteorology, hydrology or Arctic river mouths and water resources, geophysics, polar geography, and others. It also has its own computer center, ice research laboratory, experimental workshops, and a museum (the Arctic and Antarctic Museum). Scientists, such as Alexander Karpinsky, Alexander Fersman, Yuly Shokalsky, Nikolai Knipovich, Lev Berg, Otto Schmidt, Rudolf Samoylovich, Vladimir Vize, Nikolai Zubov, Pyotr Shirshov, Nikolai Urvantsev, and Yakov Gakkel have all made their valuable contributions to the work of the AARI. Throughout its history, the AARI has organized more than a thousand Arctic expeditions, including dozens of high-latitude aerial expeditions, which transported 34(?) manned drifting ice stations Severniy Polyus ("Северный полюс", or North Pole) to Central Arctic.

Smolensky Cemetery (Russian: Смоленское кладбище) is the oldest continuously operating cemetery in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It occupies a rectangular parcel in the western part of Vasilievsky Island, on the bank of the small Smolenka River, and is divided into the Orthodox, Lutheran, and Armenian sections.

SPB Exchange (formerly JSC "Saint-Petersburg Exchange") is located in Moscow, Russia. In 1997, Non-Profit Partnership “Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange” was created and became the first licensed stock exchange in Russia, with NP RTS as one of its partners. In the same year, Non-Profit Partnership “Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange” launched an electronic derivative trading platform and, by 2000, it became the leading derivatives exchange in Russia. In 2014, foreign equity securities trading started on SPB Exchange platform. By the end of 2017, all the equity securities in the S&P 500 Index became available for trading on SPB platform and a T+2 settlement cycle to match the cycle of U.S. exchanges was also introduced the same year. In July 2021 the exchange changed its name to Public Joint-Stock Company "SPB Exchange". SPB Exchange is the legal successor of the Stock exchange “Saint-Petersburg”.

Primorskaya (Russian: Примо́рская) is the station of the Nevsko–Vasileostrovskaya Line (Line 3) of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It was designed by V.N. Sokolov, M.I. Starodubov and V.A. Penno and opened on 28 September 1979. The opening of the station, situated in the western part of Vasilievsky Island, was designed to coincide with the expansion of the local neighborhoods. Like many stations built during the Cold War era, it was designed to double as a fallout shelter. Thus, the underground portion of the station features a set of blast doors a few meters before the escalator. The station's exit vestibule was eventually expanded to house one of the system's communication centers. The building also hosts a metro museum and Metropoliten cafe.

The OJSC Baltic Shipyard (Baltiysky Zavod, formerly Shipyard 189 named after Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze) (Russian: Балтийский завод имени С. Орджоникидзе) is one of the oldest shipyards in Russia and is part of United Shipbuilding Corporation today. It is located in Saint Petersburg in the south-western part of Vasilievsky Island. It is one of the three shipyards active in Saint Petersburg. Together with the Admiralty Shipyard it has been responsible for building many Imperial Russian battleships as well as Soviet nuclear-powered icebreakers. Currently it specializes in merchant ships while the Admiralty yard specializes in diesel-electric submarines. in addition, it is responsible for construction of Russian floating nuclear power stations.

Dekabristov Island (Russian: остров Декабристов), or 'Decembrists' Island, known before 1926 as Goloday Island (остров Голодай – possibly a corruption of a British merchant name Halliday) is an island in Vasileostrovsky District of Saint Petersburg, Russia, to the north of Vasilyevsky Island, separated from it by Smolenka River (59°57′N 30°14′E). The island, originally low-lying and frequently flooded, all the same was traditionally used as a cemetery (see Smolensky Lutheran Cemetery). In the early Soviet period, the name was changed to Decembrists' Island to commemorate five executed leaders of Decembrist revolt, who were buried in an unmarked grave on Goloday. In 1911, a British investment company launched a development project on a 1 square-kilometer lot in western Goloday Island, hiring Ivan Fomin and Fyodor Lidval to design a neoclassical middle-classical neighborhood. A small part of this project was completed before World War I and the Russian revolution of 1917. Eastern and northern sides of the island were heavily industrialized; the western half of the island was built up with a Leonid Brezhnev-era highrise. Dekabristov Island is connected to Vasilievsky island (south) with five automobile bridges, and to the tiny Serny Island north from it. It is connected to the center of the city through Primorskaya station of Saint Petersburg Metro.

Kanonersky Tunnel (Russian: Канонерский тоннель) is a tunnel under the Sea Canal in the Kirovsky District of Saint Petersburg. The tunnel provides a link between Kanonersky Island and Dvinskaya Street on Gutuevsky Island.The tunnel was constructed in 1983 by using Immersed tube method.
