High Head Castle

The River Ive is a river in the county of Cumbria, England. The Ive rises near the settlement of Hutton End and flows north-north-west, through Ivegill, below which it joins the Roe Beck. The Roe Beck joins its waters with those of the River Caldew, which continues to join with the River Eden in Carlisle.

Inglewood Forest is a large tract of mainly arable and dairy farm land with a few small woodland areas between Carlisle and Penrith in the English non-metropolitan county of Cumbria or ancient county of Cumberland.

Ivegill is a small village in Cumbria, England. The village has one place of worship and a school. It is located on an unclassified road near Southwaite services which is on the M6 motorway. It takes its name from the River Ive which flows through the centre of the village. Nearby settlements include the villages of Southwaite, Low Braithwaite, Middlesceugh and Highbridge.

Stockdalewath is a small village in Cumbria, approximately 7.5 miles south of Carlisle in the extreme northwest of England. It is located on the River Roe, and is in the civil parish of Dalston. As of the 2011 census, the population is estimated to be 74.Archaeological evidence, mostly based on aerial surveys of crop marks, suggests that Stockdalewath was a rural settlement in Roman Cumbria. Within a half mile of the village are three camps thought to be Roman, with the names Castlesteads, Stoneraise, and Whitestones. They are equal distance from each other and form a triangle.

Roe Beck also known as the River Roe in its lower reaches, is a beck that flows through Cumbria, England. It is a lower tributary of the River Caldew which it joins near Gaitsgill south of Dalston. The total length of the beck including Peel Gill is 20.8 kilometres (12.9 mi) and it has a catchment of 69 square kilometres (27 sq mi), which includes the area of its major tributary the River Ive.

Burthwaite is a village in Cumbria, England. The history of Burthwaite is synonymous with the history of Blackhall Park Estate also called Blackwell Park in some records. Until recent times the owner of Blackhall Park also owned all eight cottages, the two farms of Orchard House, Burthwaite Croft and the small holding of Burthwaite Villa (now Thwaite House). Rose Castle is a 16,244 square feet (1,509.1 m2) fortified house in Cumbria, England, on a site that was home to the bishops of Carlisle from 1230 to 2009. It is within the parish of Dalston, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Dalston itself, which is four miles southwest of Carlisle. The architects Anthony Salvin and Thomas Rickman were responsible for the alterations which took place in the 19th century. The historical importance of Rose Castle is shown by its Grade I listing by Historic England.

Southwaite services is a motorway service station, between junctions 41 and 42 of the M6 motorway near Southwaite, Cumbria, England. It is about 7 miles (11 km) south of Carlisle, within the civil parish of Hesket It is operated by Moto (it was owned and operated by Esso when the northbound base opened in 1972). A southbound base was added in 1977. Esso later sold the services to Granada. For a time in the 1990s the service area was briefly renamed Carlisle. Southwaite has entrances from both the northbound and southbound carriageways of the motorway, and there are facilities built on both sides. A pedestrian footbridge connects the two sections of the service area. Both sides have a Burger King restaurant, WHSmith, M&S Simply Food and a Costa Coffee. The south side also has a Travelodge.

Sebergham is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Cumbria. It is located on the B5305, south of Carlisle and south-east of Wigton. The civil parish population at the 2011 Census was 365. St Mary's Church is medieval in origin, repaired in the 18th century and with a tower added in the 1820s. It is a Grade II* listed building and lies on the Cumbria Way walk. The parish formed part of Inglewood Forest. Sebergham Bridge dates from 1689 and Bell Bridge dated from 1772: both were Grade II listed. Bell Bridge collapsed and was swept away by the River Caldew during the passing of the remnants of Storm Jonas on 27 January 2016. It had previously been damaged by Storm Desmond in December 2015. The replacement Bell Bridge, incorporating stone from its Georgian predecessor, was opened to the public on 19 December 2017. Sebergham Castle is a farmhouse, formerly known as Colerigg Hall, transformed in the Gothic Revival style in the late eighteenth century. A mile to the south-west of the village is Warnell Hall, a fortified house which is now a farmhouse. It was built in the 16th century incorporating part of a 14th-century pele tower.

St Mary's Church, Wreay is the Church of England parish church of Wreay in Cumbria. It was designed by Sara Losh in about 1835 and built between 1840 and 1842. It is notable as the earliest known example in Britain of a revival of Lombard architecture. It is a Grade II* listed building. Prominent in the churchyard are a mausoleum of Sara Losh's sister, Katharine, and a copy of the Bewcastle Cross.
