Raughton Head is a hamlet in Cumbria, England, located 8 miles (13 km) south of Carlisle.

Rose Castle is a 16,244 square feet (1,509.1 m2) fortified house in Cumbria, England, on a site that was home to the bishops of Carlisle from 1230 to 2009. It is within the parish of Dalston, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Dalston itself, which is four miles southwest of Carlisle. The architects Anthony Salvin and Thomas Rickman were responsible for the alterations which took place in the 19th century. The historical importance of Rose Castle is shown by its Grade I listing by Historic England.

Within a half mile of the village are three camps thought to be Roman, with the names Castlesteads, Stoneraise, and Whitestones. They are equal distance from each other and form a triangle.

High Head Castle is a large fortified manor house in the English county of Cumbria. It is located between Carlisle and Penrith. The house is now largely a ruin with the exterior walls and certain foundations surviving for the majority of the building. The right hand wing of the building has had a roof re-instated, and may be usable again for the first time since the building burnt down in the 1950s. It is currently not open to the public. It is privately owned, and the owners have now for some time been trying to restore it to its former glory.

Cummersdale was a railway station on the Maryport and Carlisle Railway (M&CR) serving Cummersdale in Cumbria. The station was opened by the M&CR in 1858 and lay in the Parish of Cummersdale near to the village of High Cummersdale.
