Nikolaj Plads

The Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center (Danish: Nikolaj Kunsthal, formerly (from 2006 - 2010) Kunsthallen Nikolaj and (until 2006) Nikolaj Udstillingsbygning) is an arts centre in Copenhagen which occupies the former St. Nicholas Church (Danish: Sankt Nikolaj Kirke), named after Saint Nicholas, one of the city's oldest churches and most conspicuous landmarks. It is situated on Højbro Plads, a few steps away from Amagertorv and Strøget. The church building is noted for its fanciful Neo-Baroque 90 m (300 ft) long spire. The tower offers some of the best views of the city centre.

Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design, often abbreviated to SAFD, is a fashion design school in Copenhagen, Denmark. It offers a full-time three-year fashion design education, and a variety of short and summer courses. It was formerly known as Margrethe-Skolen.

Nikolaj Plads 32, also known as Sankt Nicolai Hus, is a property situated on the west side of Nikolaj Plads in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was, like most of the other buildings in the area, constructed as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945. Former residents include the theatrical scenic painter Christian Ferdinand Christensen.

Lille Kirkestræde 1/Nikolaj Plads 28 is a Neoclassical corner building situated in front of the former St. Nicolas' Church, now Kunsthallen Nikolaj, in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It was listed in 1945. The building was like most of the buildings in the area constructed following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945. A plaque on the chamfered corner of the building commemorates that Louis Pio spoke to the crowds in Lille Kirkestræde from a window on the second floor on the night before the so-called Battle of the Common (Slaget på Fælleden) on 5 May 1872.

Fortunstræde 1 is a Neoclassical property situated at the corner of Fortunstræde and Admiralgade, opposite the former St. Nicolas' Church, now Kunsthallen Nikolaj, in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was like most of the other buildings in the area constructed after the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. It was shortly thereafter acquired by the bookseller Abraham Soldin who in partnership with his brother Salomon Soldin ran a bookshop and publishing business from the premises. The venture was later continued by his son Ferdinand Vilhelm Soldenfeldt as F. V. Soldenfeldt. The building is today owned by Borgervennen, a fraternal society founded in 1788, now based in the apartment on the first floor. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945.

Hotel Royal is a former hotel located at the corner of Ved Stranden and Fortunstræde in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The hotel existed from 1798 until 1876 and the building has later housed a newspaper publishing house and the Danish Society of Engineers. The listed, Neoclassical building is now home to Nordic Council's operations in Denmark. It fronts Slotsholmens Kanal and is located opposite Christiansborg Palace on Slotsholmen.

The Buurmester House (Danish: Buurmesters Gaard) is a Neoclassical property situated at Admiralgade 20 in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is one of several buildings constructed by Ernst Burmeister as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1959.
