The building is today owned by Borgervennen, a fraternal society founded in 1788, now based in the apartment on the first floor. It was constructed in 1845–46 for a wholesale merchant named Harboe for whom Ved Stranden 16 on the other side of the block was also heightened by one storey. The two buildings was at the same time divided into two separate properties. Admiralgade 22 was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1959. The scope of the heritage listing was extended in 1988. Notable former residents include the ballet dancer Adolph Stramboe.

The Zinn House (Danish: Zinnske Gård), located at Kvæsthusgade 3, is a historic townhouse around the corner from the Nyhavn Canal in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes its name after the Zinn family, a wealthy family of merchants that owned it for more than 150 years. The composer Johan Peter Emilius Hartmann, who was married to Emma Sophie Amalie Zinn, a grand daughter of Johann Ludvig Zinn, lived on the second floor for more than 70 years in the period 1829–1900. The building was adapted in 1907. It was later in the century converted into offices. The building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1959.

The Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center (Danish: Nikolaj Kunsthal, formerly (from 2006 - 2010) Kunsthallen Nikolaj and (until 2006) Nikolaj Udstillingsbygning) is an arts centre in Copenhagen which occupies the former St. Nicholas Church (Danish: Sankt Nikolaj Kirke), named after Saint Nicholas, one of the city's oldest churches and most conspicuous landmarks. It is situated on Højbro Plads, a few steps away from Amagertorv and Strøget. The church building is noted for its fanciful Neo-Baroque 90 m (300 ft) long spire. The tower offers some of the best views of the city centre.

Nikolajgade 20 / Dybensgade 20 is a Neoclassical apartment building situated at the corner of Nikolajgade and Dybensgade in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was constructed by master mason Anthon Christian Wilcken and master carpenter Andreas Hallander in 1799–1800 as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. It was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1959. A young Hans Christian Andersen was the lodger of a widow on the second floor in the early 1820s. From 1825 to 1840 the building was operated as a home for indigent seamen under the name Bombebøssen. That institution—founded by the naval officer Peter Norden Sølling in 1819—was then moved to Christianshavn. The building at the corner of Nikolajgade and Dybensgade was hit by fire in 1855 but subsequently restored.

Boldhusgade 2/Admiralgade 26 is a Neoclassical apartment building situated at the corner of Boldhusgade and Admiralgade in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building, like most of the other buildings in the area, was constructed as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795. Notable former residents include the army officer Bernhard Ditlef von Staffeldt. The building was later home to first the restaurant and bar venue Admiral-Krien and then the experimental theatre Boldhus Teatret. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1939.
