Boise School District

Frank Church High School is an alternative public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, operated by the Boise School District. Opened in 2008, it was formed from the merger of Mountain Cove High School and Fort Boise Mid High School. It serves grades 9–12, with the majority of the enrollment in the upper grades.FCHS is named after Frank Church, a prominent U.S. Senator from 1957 to 1981, and an alumnus of Boise High School, class of 1942. The school is located in southwest Boise, immediately east of the new West Junior High School, also opened in 2008. FCHS also hosts the Boise Evening School program and B.A.S.E (Boise Alternative to Suspension and Expulsion) formerly known as the Victory Academy.

The Boise Idaho Temple is the 29th constructed and 27th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The temple is located in the city of Boise, Idaho.

Bishop Kelly High School is a private Roman Catholic secondary school in Boise, Idaho, operated by the Diocese of Boise. One of two Catholic high school in the state of Idaho, its school colors are black and gold and the mascot is a knight.

The Aquarium of Boise is a 501 c(3) non-profit aquarium in Boise, Idaho, United States. It opened to the public in 2011.

Borah High School is a three-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, one of four traditional high schools in the Boise School District. It serves students in grades 10–12 in the southwest portion of the district. It is named after William Borah (1865–1940), a prominent U.S. Senator and a presidential candidate in 1936.

Boise Towne Square is a mall in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The largest retail complex in the state, it opened in 1988 after more than 20 years of planning, and features 150 stores, with Macy's (formerly The Bon Marché), JCPenney, Kohl's and Dillard's (added in 1998) as anchor stores. The mall also includes the first Apple Store in Idaho. Boise Towne Square is owned by the Chicago-based Brookfield Properties Retail Group and is located near the junction of Interstate 84 and Interstate 184. Brookfield Properties Retail Group also operates an adjacent strip mall, Boise Towne Plaza, which is anchored by Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy. In addition, the mall comprises nine freestanding businesses on its property, including major retailers PetSmart and Pier 1 Imports.

The Boise City Police Department (BPD) is located in Boise, Idaho's capital. BPD employs just over 400 people, with 325 allocated positions for sworn officers and 82 civilians.

KGEM (1140 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious talk format. Licensed to Boise, Idaho, United States, the station serves the Boise area. The station is currently owned by SNL Radio, LLC. Former owners Journal Broadcast Group announced July 22, 2009 that KGEM, along with sister station KCID, were to be sold to Salt & Light Radio for $950,000. The sale closed on September 25, 2009, and as a result the stations were converted to Salt & Light's local Catholic radio format (see Salt + Light Television).

The New York Canal in Ada County and Canyon County, Idaho, is a 41-mile irrigation canal originating at the Boise River Diversion Dam and ending at Lake Lowell. The canal system includes multiple lateral canals that distribute water to approximately 165,000 acres of farmland in the Boise Valley. The canal has a capacity of 2,400 cubic feet per second.

Cole School and Gymnasium in Boise, Idaho, was a 2-story, stucco over brick school building with stone trim. The year of construction was likely 1903, although in an annual report issued by the Boise School District 1972–73, the year was given as 1908. Above the main entry of a 1951 addition to the building was written, "Cole Elementary Est. 1888." The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982.

The Idaho Centennial Ladies' Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour, played only in 1963 in Boise, Idaho. The 54-hole event was held 59 years ago at Hillcrest Country Club over the Labor Day weekend, Saturday through Monday.Mickey Wright won the event by four strokes over runner-up Kathy Whitworth; both players shot 68 (−3) in the final round. Tied for third at 215 (+2) were Shirley Englehorn of Caldwell and Marlene Hagge. It was Wright's 10th of 13 victories on the LPGA Tour in 1963, and her 49th of 82 career wins. Whitworth won the previous week in Ogden, Utah, and the following week in Spokane, Washington. The centennial referred to the establishment of the Idaho Territory in 1863; statehood for Idaho came 27 years later in 1890.

Hillcrest Country Club is a country club in the western United States in Boise, Idaho. Located in the bench area in the southwest area of the city, it is immediately northwest of the Boise Airport. The club hosts the Boise Open professional golf tournament, a regular stop on the Korn Ferry Tour.
