West Laurel Hill Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1869, is 200 acres in size and contains the burials of many notable people. It is affiliated with Laurel Hill Cemetery in nearby Philadelphia. The cemetery property is an accredited arboretum and has an on-site funeral home and crematorium. The cemetery contains two Jewish burial sections and an environmentally friendly burial section. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Barmouth station was a railroad station in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. Located on East Levering Mill Road, the station was a stop on the Pennsylvania Railroad's Schuylkill Branch, and later became a part of SEPTA's Ivy Ridge Line (then called R6 Ivy Ridge). The station, and all of those north of Cynwyd station, was closed in May 1986 when the integrity of the Pencoyd Viaduct crossing the Schuylkill River and Schuylkill Expressway was questioned. In 2009, SEPTA leased the line to Lower Merion Township, who dismantled the tracks for the Cynwyd Heritage Trail. The last remnants of the station, the platforms and a stone shelter, were demolished in 2011 to make room for the trail parking lot.The Barmouth station site bisects West Laurel Hill Cemetery and Westminster Cemetery.

Pencoyd (Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania) was a historic house and farm in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Located along the north side of what is now City Avenue, the farm originally stretched from the Schuylkill River to Conshohocken State Road (PA Route 23). Settled by John Roberts in 1683, his descendants owned the property for 280 years. The house was built c.1684–1690, and demolished in 1964.

Pretzel Park is a small park in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was officially named Manayunk Park from its creation in 1929 until 2004, when it was renamed. However, residents have referred to the park as Pretzel Park as far back as anyone can remember.The park contains a partially fenced dog park.

St. John the Baptist Church is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1831, it is the tenth oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The current Neo Gothic church was dedicated on April 1, 1894 and is the spiritual home for Roman Catholics living in the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Manayunk, Roxborough, and Wissahickon.

The Manayunk Bridge (also known as the Manayunk Viaduct, Pencoyd Viaduct, and Schuylkill River Railroad Bridge) is an S-shaped former railroad bridge over the Schuylkill River, Schuylkill Canal and Schuylkill Expressway, that connects Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County and the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Closed to rail traffic in 1986, it is now an extension of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail (along the river's west bank) and connects to the Schuylkill River Trail (along the east bank).

St. Josaphat Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia is located in the Manayunk section of Northwest Philadelphia at 124 Cotton Street. This parish was merged with those of St. John the Baptist and St. Mary of the Assumption in 2012.The church was named in honor of Saint Josaphat, who was born circa 1580 as John Kuncevic in Vladimir, a village of the Lithuanian Province of Volhynia (then a part of the Polish Kingdom begun under the Jagiellonian dynasty), and who rose to increasing positions of authority within the church after professing his faith. Murdered in Vitebsk (Belarus) on November 12, 1623, while working to reunify the diocese he had been assigned to lead, he was declared "Blessed" by Pope Urban VIII in May 1643. He was then canonized as a saint on June 29, 1867, by Pope Pius IX and, on the tercentenary of his martyrdom (November 12, 1923) was declared by Pope Pius XI to be the heavenly Patron of Reunion between Orthodox and Catholics." On November 25, 1963, during the Second Vatican Council, the remains of Saint Josaphat were officially laid to rest at the altar of St. Basil in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. This action was ordered by Pope John XXIII.

Manayunk ( MAN-ə-yunk) is a neighborhood in the section of Lower Northwest Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania. Located adjacent to the neighborhoods of Roxborough and Wissahickon and also on the banks of the Schuylkill River, Manayunk contains the first canal begun in the United States (although not the first completed, due to budget problems).The area's name is derived from the language of the Lenape Native American tribe. In 1686, in documents between William Penn and the Lenape, the Lenape referred to the Schuylkill River as "Manaiung", their word for "river", which literally translates as "place to drink"; the word was later altered and adopted as the town's name.Although historically a working class community, in recent years the neighborhood has been substantially gentrified. While there is still a working class population within the neighborhood, the population has shifted to younger, upper middle class professionals and families. Additionally, the nightlife in Manayunk draws visitors from all over the Delaware Valley, as well as international visitors.

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is a private medical school with its main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and additional locations in Suwanee, Georgia (PCOM Georgia) and Moultrie, Georgia (PCOM South Georgia).Founded in 1899, PCOM is one of the nation's oldest medical schools. PCOM also operates several healthcare centers in Philadelphia and an osteopathic care clinic in Suwanee, Georgia. Additionally, PCOM sponsors residency training programs, which train newly graduated physicians. The Center for Chronic Disorders of Aging, which aims to improve quality of life for elderly individuals, is located on the Philadelphia campus.

Wissahickon station is a passenger rail station on SEPTA's Manayunk/Norristown Line in Northwest Philadelphia. In FY 2013, Wissahickon station had a weekday average of 410 boardings and 452 alightings.The station was recently upgraded as part of a major reconstruction project that involved the integration of a former trackless trolley electrical substation and short-turn loop known as the Wissahickon Transfer Center, located across Ridge Avenue and downhill from the rail station. On a typical weekday, the transfer center sees around 7,000 riders.

Manayunk station is a station located along the SEPTA Manayunk/Norristown rail line. It is located at Cresson and Carson Streets in the Manayunk neighborhood of northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In FY 2013, Manayunk station had a weekday average of 654 boardings and 563 alightings.

Cynwyd station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Located at Conshohocken State Road (PA 23) and Bala Avenue, it is the last station along the Cynwyd Line. The station includes a 41-space parking lot. Service formerly continued farther northwest, crossing the Schuylkill River via the massive Manayunk Bridge, and ultimately terminating at Ivy Ridge station. This service ended in September 1986 when the integrity of the Manayunk Bridge was questioned. The massive span was shedding pieces of concrete due to spalling. Further investigation by Urban Engineers determined that the bridge was safe and only needed surface work to end the spalling. In 1999, construction finished on a project to stabilize and refurbish the bridge, but train service did not resume as expected.SEPTA received criticism for refusing to reinstate service north of Cynwyd after the Manayunk Bridge was deemed safe. Plans to re-extend service floated around for approximately a decade until 2008 when SEPTA dismantled the line north of Cynwyd after leasing the line for the Cynwyd Heritage Trail and Ivy Ridge Trail, respectively.
