Petoskey State Park

The Stafford’s Bay View Inn is located in Bay View, Michigan, on Little Traverse Bay. The inn is a historical building that has been around for over 120 years as part of the Bay View Association of the Methodist Church established in 1876. It is located on Woodland Avenue directly off U.S. Highway 31 with a Petoskey address.

The Bay View Association of the United Methodist Church, known as Bay View, is an example of two uniquely American community forms: the Methodist camp meeting and the independent Chautauqua. Designed for the first purpose in 1876 as the county's only romantically-planned campground, and adapted for the second from 1885 to 1915, Bay View constitutes a well-executed ideal Victorian summer community that has remained in continuous operation since its foundation.

The G. W. Olin House is a private house located at 610 Kalamazoo Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The G. W. Olin House is a well-preserved example of a bungalow. It is a 1½-story front-gable structure with a gabled front porch supported by Doric piers. It has exposed eaves and multi-paned windows.The house was constructed in the late 19th century, possibly in 1898. G.W Olin and his wife lived in the house in 1899, along with their daughter, Nellie, who was a clerk at the Cushman House. By 1903 the Warren family lived in the house.

It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The George and Eugene Markle House is a two-story frame cross-gable Queen Anne house. A two-story shed roofed addition fills the angle between the walls behind the front porch. The porch itself is a hip-roofed wraparound porch with Doric piers. The house is clad with clapboard, with the gables covered with decorative shingling.The house was constructed before 1899, and is associated with George and Eugene Markle, who owned and operated the nearby Markle Machine Works.

The Stout House is a private house located at 606 Grove Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The Stout House is a two-story frame Colonial Revival structure. It has an L-shaped plan, with the short, gable-roofed section of the L facing the front. A single story wing projects to the rear. A single story hipped roof porch with Doric columns fills the angle between the legs of the L. The windows are one-over-one double hung units.The Stout family lived in this house until some time after 1903, along with their boarder, Anna Vaughn. By 1917, Joseph Jordan, a carpenter. owned the house, with Anna Vaughn continuing as a boarder. By 1928, John L. Smith owned the house.
