Goose Pimple Junction is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Virginia, in the United States.

South Holston Lake is located near the town of Abingdon, Virginia and the city of Bristol, Virginia / Bristol, Tennessee, and is a 7,580-acre (31 km2) impoundment operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Much of the reservoir is in Tennessee, but the Virginia portion of the reservoir offers anglers more than 1,600 acres (6 km2) of water. South Holston Lake is said to stand out from the rest and is always a favorite amongst boaters. At this time there is a South Holston Reservoir Fishing License that will allow anglers from the two states to fish the entire lake with the purchase of this license.

South Holston Dam is a hydroelectric and flood control dam on the South Fork Holston River in Sullivan County, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is the uppermost of three dams on the South Fork Holston owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority, which built the dam in the 1940s as part of efforts to control flooding in the Tennessee River watershed. On October 21, 1950 the valve gate closed and water began backing up to create South Holston Reservoir. Work began on the dam in December 1941, but in November 1942, the War Production Board requested that the operation be suspended because of a shortage of critical materials. Work did not resume until July 1, 1947. The dam now impounds the South Holston Lake of 7,550 acres (3,060 ha), which extends northeastward across the Tennessee-Virginia state line.

Paperville Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Tennessee.Paperville Creek took its name from a paper mill near its course. A settlement called Paperville also once existed in the area.

The Virginian Golf Club, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1992, is a luxury golf community located in Bristol, Virginia. It features an 18-hole golf course along with a golf club house, and a swimming and racquet club.

The Cherokee National Forest is a United States National Forest located in the U.S. states of Tennessee and North Carolina that was created on June 14, 1920. The forest is maintained and managed by the United States Forest Service. It encompasses an estimated area of 655,598 acres (2,653.11 km2).

John S. Battle High School is a high school located in the Southwest portion of Virginia in Washington County. Built in 1959, the school was named after former Virginia Governor John S. Battle.

The Grove, also known as The Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol and Washington County, is a historic home located just outside Bristol in Washington County, Virginia. It was built in 1857, on the Walnut Grove tract. It is a two-story, five-bay, brick Greek Revival style dwelling with a kitchen wing. The house has a gable roof and features a two-story wood-framed front porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Walnut Grove, also known as the Robert Preston House, is a historic plantation house located just outside Bristol in Washington County, Virginia. It was built about 1815, and is a two-story, Georgian style timber-frame dwelling covered with wood weatherboard. The house has a gable roof and has a one-story full-width porch. The Grove was built on the Walnut Grove property in 1857.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

King University is a private Presbyterian-affiliated university in Bristol, Tennessee. Founded in 1867, King is independently governed with covenant affiliations to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).

Mountain Empire Baptist School was a private Baptist K-12 Christian school, and was a ministry of Belle Meadows Baptist Church. Started in 2001, it was member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools. With old fashioned style worship and preaching from the King James Bible (1611), it was a Baptist school without apologizing for doctrine, heritage, nor for zeal. Their goal was to not take the place of the Christian home, but seek to complement it. The curriculum used for all grades was A Beka. Subjects were taught from a Biblical viewpoint and were based upon the firm foundation of spiritual truth. Social development was encouraged through the teaching of good manners, high moral standards, respect for parents and authority, and patriotism.

East Hill Cemetery, also known as Maryland Hill, Round Hill, Rooster Hill, and City Cemetery, is a historic cemetery located at Bristol, Virginia. It is an American Civil War-era cemetery established in 1857, with sections for Confederate soldiers and veterans as well as a small section for African American burials. In 1995, the United Daughters of the Confederacy put up a small commemorative monument to the Civil War dead. Among its graves are the founders of the city, representatives of enslaved African-Americans, Civil War soldiers including those who died as a result of the war as well as those who survived the war, a Revolutionary War General of Militia Evan Shelby, and many who have made contributions to Bristol and the nation. It straddles the Tennessee-Virginia border.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
