New Orleans Lager and Ale Brewing Company, commonly called "NOLA Brewing Company," is a brewery in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The brewery is located in a converted old warehouse building at the corner of Tchoupitoulas and Seventh Streets in Uptown New Orleans. Following the closure of the Dixie Brewing Company facility after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, no commercial brewery operated in New Orleans until NOLA Brewing Company produced its first craft beer in 2009. They celebrated their 7th year of production in 2016 with special releases.NOLA Brewing Company is currently served in bars throughout the Southeast United States, as well as full sized kegs and draft packs sold at grocery stores throughout Louisiana.

Protestant Home for Babies was located in the lavish and historic Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was established in 1926 by community women seeking to provide a shelter for destitute infants. By the early 1950’s, maternity services were added to provide short-term shelter for pregnant young women. The shelter continued to provide for adoptable and homeless infants. By 1974 the community's needs for maternity home services decreased and the Board of Directors discontinued the maternity and infant shelters. A group home was established for adolescent girls in need of a nurturing home environment. In 1979, the agency's name was officially changed from Protestant Home for Babies to Raintree Services. Raintree Services is a non-sectarian social service organization still operating today at the same location. Each year, Raintree assists more than 600 children and families through five specialized programs, which include Raintree House, Raintree Family Care, Early Steps, Afterschool Program and Attendant Care Services. Today, many adoptees and birth-families from the Protestant Home for Babies, and all over Louisiana, search for each other on the Internet.

The Garden District is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. A subdistrict of the Central City/Garden District Area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission are: St. Charles Avenue to the north, 1st Street to the east, Magazine Street to the south, and Toledano Street to the west. The National Historic Landmark district extends a little farther.The area was originally developed between 1832 and 1900 and is considered one of the best-preserved collections of historic mansions in the Southern United States. The George Washington Cable House is a historic house at 1313 8th Street, in the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1874, it was the home of George Washington Cable (1844–1925), an American writer who described Creole life, during the period in which he rose to national prominence. The cottage was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1962.

Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 is a historic cemetery in the Garden District neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1833 and still in use today, the cemetery takes its name from its location in what was once the City of Lafayette, a suburb of New Orleans that was annexed by the larger metropolis in 1852. The city's first planned cemetery, it is notable for the architectural significance of its tombs and mausoleums, often containing multiple family members, and for its layout, a cruciform plan that allowed for funeral processions.Confined within a single city block, the cemetery contains approximately 1,100 family tombs and 7,000 people.

The Louise S. McGehee School is an all-girls private, independent school in the Garden District in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The McGehee campus, which is one city block, has ten buildings and at least 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) of space.

Christ Church Cathedral, located today at 2919 St. Charles Avenue, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States, was the first non-Roman Catholic church founded in the entire Louisiana Purchase territory. It was founded in 1803 as Christ's Church by the Protestant inhabitants of New Orleans, and is today the official seat of the Bishop of Louisiana, in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.

St. Mary's Assumption Church is a National Historic Landmark church at Constance and Josephine Streets in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. The church was completed in 1860, built for the swelling German Catholic immigrant population in the Lower Garden District section of the city (the church across the street, Saint Alphonsus Church, was built at the same time for the swelling Irish Catholic immigrant population in the same area). Both churches are extremely beautiful and ornate.

St. Alphonsus Church (French: Église Saint-Alphonse) is a historic former church building at 2029 Constance Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Completed in 1857, it is one of the few surviving national examples of a richly multi-colored church interior predating the 1870s, and a high quality example of ecclesiastical Italianate architecture. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1996 for its architectural significance. It is now home to the St. Alphonsus Art and Cultural Center.

Anshe Sfard is a synagogue in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The congregation was founded by Hasidic Jews from Lithuania. The congregation today is Modern Orthodox. and is located in a historic building at 2230 Carondelet Street. Anshe Sfard's 1925 building features a barrel-vaulted ceiling ribbed with beams studded with electric light bulbs. This decorative feature was common at the time, inspired by the great excitement over the newly invented incandescent bulb. The Rundbogenstil exterior is brick, with triple arched Neo-Byzantine doors.After Hurricane Katrina, Anshe Sfard was damaged and did not reopen until 2006. The synagogue's Torah scrolls were rescued during Hurricane Katrina.The congregation, located a short walk from downtown hotels in the beautiful Garden District, welcomes tourists and business travelers to attend services.
