In 2012 he was invited by the White House to deliver the message at the National Prayer Service as a part of President Obama’s second inauguration.

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) -- formerly known as the Kansas City Plant -- is a National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies that manufactures "85 percent of non-nuclear components that go into the [United States] nuclear stockpile." It was renamed the KCNSC in 2015. The plant produces non-nuclear mechanical, electronic, and engineered material components for U.S. national defense systems such as high-energy laser ignition systems, microwave hybrid microcircuit production, and miniature electromechanical devices. It also provides technical services such as metallurgical/mechanical analysis, analytical chemistry, environmental testing, nondestructive testing, computer-based training, simulations and analysis, and technical certification.

Town Center Plaza is an open-air shopping center in Leawood, Kansas, United States. It is home to a number of upscale stores with few or no other locations in the Kansas City area, including Allen Edmonds, Arhaus, Brooks Brothers, Bonobos, Crate & Barrel, L.L. Bean, Peloton, Purple Mattress, a Restoration Hardware Gallery store, and Sundance. It opened in 1996 with Jacobson's as the main anchor store. After Jacobson's closed in 2002, it was converted to The Jones Store in 2003 and Macy's in 2006. Another original tenant was Galyan's, which became Dick's Sporting Goods in 2004. It and nearby Town Center Crossing (formerly One Nineteen) are owned by Washington Prime Group, formerly WP Glimcher and before that, Glimcher Realty Trust, who bought Town Center Plaza from DDR Corp. for $139 million.

Richards-Gebaur Memorial Airport is a former airport that operated alongside Richards-Gebaur Air Reserve Station (also Richards-Gebaur Air Force Station) until the base's closure in 1994, and until it was closed in 1999. Formerly, it was operated as Grandview Airport from 1941 until it was leased by the United States Army in 1944.

The Marine Corps Individual Reserve Support Activity (MCIRSA) is a subordinate unit within Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) that provides support for all Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) and Mobilized Training Unit Marine reservists.
