Llangyndeyrn () is a village, community and electoral ward in the River Gwendraeth valley, Carmarthenshire, in Dyfed region of West Wales, United Kingdom. The village name is often spelt as Llangendeirne. The Welsh language name of the village means "the church of St. Cyndeyrn". A Welsh saint named Cyndeyrn is the equivalent of the English Kentigern and the Scottish St. Mungo; but the St Cyndeyrn associated with Llangyndeyrn is believed to be a different one, a descendant of Cunedda whose festival is on 5/6 August. Both St Cyndeyrn's parish church and Capel Salem are grade II* listed buildings. Nearby is the remains of Banc y Betws, or Betws Castle, a motte-and-bailey castle. The small village is well known for its resistance against the attempt to flood the village in order to create a reservoir for the Borough of Swansea. Within the village is the Ysgol Y Fro school for infants. The community is bordered by the communities of: Llangunnor; Llanddarog; Pontyberem; Llanelli Rural; Trimsaran; Kidwelly; and Llandyfaelog, all being in Carmarthenshire and includes the villages of Pontyates, Carway and Meinciau.

Coedydd Capel Dyddgen is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales. Coedydd Capel Dyddgen is a mosaic of Ash-Hazel woodland, scrub and grassland. The site is important for bats, particularly Rhinolophus ferrumequinum (Greater Horseshoe bat) that use the large cave Ogof Capel Dyddgen and the adjoining woodland and pasture provide important feeding areas. Muscardinus avellanarius (Common dormouse) and several noteworthy invertebrates also inhabit the site.

Nantycaws or Nant-y-caws is a rural settlement in the community of Llangunnor, Carmarthenshire, Wales. 'Nant y caws' is Welsh for 'River of the cheese' and probably refers to the rich dairy farmland in the area. The Welsh word for 'milk' has been used in other place names to refer to fertile land. Though plausibly 'Nant y caws' could refer to a cloudy stream, or one with an unpleasant smell.Nantycaws lies largely on the old A48 road to Carmarthen (5 miles away) which was replaced in the 1980s with a dual carriageway, running close to the village. There is a petrol station and restaurant on the A48 and the Nant-y-caws Recycling Centre, located to the east of the village. The Philadelphia Independent Chapel lies on the Llangynnor Road (old A48) and dates from 1809.

Allt Penycoed Stream Section is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or SSSI) in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is protected by law and has been designated as an SSSI since April 1985 in an attempt to protect rare or unique features or species within it. The site has an area of 1.62 hectares and is managed by Natural Resources Wales. This site is designated due to its geological qualities. In Wales, geological sites range from quarries to rocky outcrops and massive sea-cliffs. 30% of SSSIs in Wales are notified for geological and geomorphological features. This stream section provides valuable information of dense turbidite/shale sequence, demonstrating the base of the member and good sections in the underlying Pibwr mudstones, which shows trilobite faunas representative of major ecological changes related to water depth and oxygenation around 500 million years ago. Trilobites are the fossilized remains of a new extinct group of sea-living arthropods, which have been recorded from this site and helped geologists understand conditions of the sea bed during the accumulation of sediment. The rich fossil assemblage has also enabled geologists to compare this section with rocks of a similar age all through South wales and the rest of the British Isles.

Mynydd Llangyndeyrn is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales, and a hill reaching 263 metres (863 feet), which is a Marilyn. Mynydd Llangyndeyrn and the SSSI are located west of Drefach and north of Pontyberem. The SSSI is approximately 1.3 miles (2.1 km) east-west and 0.3 miles (0.48 km) north-south, taking the approximate shape of a horns downwards shallow crescent.The SSSI citation for Mynydd Llangyndeyrn specifies that it is "notable as one of the larger upland semi-natural areas left in south-west Wales which, unlike most others, remains lightly grazed." The site features marshy grassland, wet heath, and dry heath, and hosts the marsh fritillary butterfly (Euphydryas aurinia).

Coed Gwempa is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales. It is managed by the Woodland Trust, who describe it as mixed native woodland and ancient trees with abundant floral species like bluebell, meadowsweet and dog violet. Dormice have also been observed.

Capel Dewi is a small village in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The village is built on raised ground to the south of the River Towy, and to the east of the area's principal settlement Carmarthen. Originally a farming community, Capel Dewi has grown into a commuter village, serving Carmarthen and the surrounding area. Today it is part of the community of Llanarthney.Capel Dewi is a village made up of several buildings, one of the oldest being the chapel. Originally known as Capel Heol Dwr it was built in the early nineteenth century by a wealthy Wesleyan man. In 1834 it was bought by a member of the Water Street Methodist Chapel in Carmarthen, and since then the building has been known as Capel Heol Dwr (Water Street Chapel). The property is registered by Cadw, though after closing in 2001 it has now been converted into a home. The only school built in the village was closed in 1963

Bishops Pond (Welsh: Pwll yr Esgob) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying adjacent to the former palace of the Bishop of St Davids (now the Carmarthenshire County Museum). The pond is an oxbow lake, formed when a meander of the River Tywi got cut off from the main river. The water level is topped up in winter as the river floods the valley floor, and the level drops in summer. The pond exhibits a natural succession from lake through swamp to marsh, and will eventually become meadow; this happens because aquatic plants clog the water and there is a gradual build up of organic detritus.

Llangunnor is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is the southern suburb of Carmarthen town and consists mainly of typical suburban housing which has expanded in recent years. It has a small shop, two chapels, a church and a Primary School. It is made up of the villages and hamlets of Nantycaws, Pensarn, Login and Pibwrlwyd.

St David's Church is a Church in Wales parish church in Abergwili, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The church was built in the early 1840s when the Rev. Joshua Hughes was vicar, and was near to the location of a mucch earlier church, said to date from the medieval period. The new church was consecrated in 1843. The cost was £1,400, and Hughes was later to become Bishop of St Asaph. Richard Davies, who translated parts of the Bible into Welsh in the sixteenth century, was buried at this church. In October 1849, a memorial to Davies was unveiled, portraying him seated at a table, at work translating the scripture. A sermon, in Welsh, was delivered by John Jones (Ioan Tegid), vicar of Nevern. As of 2023, St David's is part of the Bro Caerfyrddin deanery, which consists of eleven churches and is served by four priests.
