Enderby Warren Quarry is a 1.7-hectare (4.2-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Enderby in Leicestershire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This former quarry is described by Natural England as nationally important as it is the only one in Britain where it can be shown that palygorskite clay soil has been formed by the action of groundwater on Triassic and pre-Triassic sediments.The site is private land with no public access.

Thorpe Astley is a suburban settlement on the southwestern edge of the city of Leicester, England. It is part of the civil parish of Braunstone Town, although a small part of the development, around Goodheart Way, extends into Leicester Forest East civil parish. Both Braunstone Town and Leicester Forest East are within the district of Blaby, Leicestershire. This settlement was built on the last area of agricultural land in Braunstone Town. Construction of this development began after approval from the Blaby District Council in 1994. It covers most of a wedge of land between the M1 Motorway on its western side and the A563 ringroad on the east, with the established community of Braunstone West is on its north side. It is neighboured to the south by the Meridian industrial and commercial development. A Community Centre to serve this housing estate was opened in October 2010; this is maintained by Braunstone Town Council. Around the same time a new community group was formed, Your Thorpe Astley, with the aim of furthering the interests of local residents and staging events at the Centre. The name "Thorpe Astley" was derived from the Astley family, who owned land in Braunstone Town from 1334 to 1404. Several roads in the Thorpe Astley estate are named after famous people from history, including the 18th-century political radical Thomas Paine and American paratroop commander General James M. Gavin. The headquarters of General Gavin's U.S. 82nd Airborne Division was stationed at Braunstone Park during 1944.

The Winstanley School is a coeducational secondary school located in Braunstone in the English county of Leicestershire.The school specialises in sports, and a range of sporting and community facilities have been developed to support the specialism. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012, along with the celebration of the Olympics that year. The school also converted to academy status in 2012. A painting was painted by an Art Teacher and students. Previously, The Winstanley School was a middle school educating pupils aged 11 to 14 (academic years 7 to 9). However, from September 2014 the school expanded to be a full secondary school educating pupils up to the age of 16. The school was formerly known as Winstanley Community College.

Enderby is a village and civil parish in Leicestershire, England, on the southwest outskirts of the city of Leicester. The parish includes the neighbourhood of St John's, which is east of the village separated from it by the M1 motorway. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 6,314.The village's name means 'farm/settlement of Eindrithi'.The village is situated on the B4114 between Fosse Shopping Park and Narborough. The parish includes Fosse Shopping Park, Grove Park Commercial Centre and Everards Brewery. The parish is bounded by the City of Leicester and the civil parishes of Braunstone Town, Glen Parva, Lubbesthorpe, Narborough and Whetstone. The course of the Fosse Way Roman road passes through the parish. Near St John's is the deserted village of Aldeby by the River Soar.Enderby Hall was the ancestral home of the Smith family when the paternal line ended. The hall was left to Charles Loraine who took the name Charles Loraine Smith.

Brockington College is a Church of England mixed secondary school in Enderby, Leicestershire, England. It is in the district of Blaby. The school became an academy on 1 August 2012.

Fosse Shopping Park is one of Britain's biggest out-of-town shopping parks and it is situated in Enderby parish, in Blaby district, on the southern edge of the city of Leicester, England.The retail park is in an area of mixed industrial and commercial development, about half a mile from Junction 21 of the M1, where it meets the M69. Junction 21 also connects the M1 with the A5460 (Narborough Road), from the centre of Leicester, and Leicester's main ringroad, the A563. As of 2016, it is one of "about twenty" retail parks owned by the Crown Estate.

Emmanuel Christian School, Leicester is a small, independent, co-educational Christian school for pupils aged 4–16. Opening in August 2003, it was the first (and remains the only according to Ofsted and government records) independent Christian school in Leicestershire. The River Sence is a Leicestershire (England) tributary of the larger River Soar. The River Sence can be traced eastwards up to the village of Billesdon, and then flows south west through Great Glen, Leicestershire, and then west (south of Wigston and South Wigston) until the confluence with the River Soar just to the west of Blaby. Tracing the River Sence upstream, the Environment Agency does monitor the river between Blaby and Great Glen, but there has been no significant flooding in recent years, and the land along the River Sence is largely agricultural. In 1881 Sebastian Evans wrote that the usual names for this river were Billesdon Brook and Burton Brook.The river flows past South Wigston at a point known locally as Crow Mills. After heavy rain the river level here rises quickly. It floods neighbouring fields and then flows across the road causing the road to become impassable to traffic. After prolonged rain the river floods large areas of farm land along its course. At village of Blaby it floods across the cricket pitch and also it can flood across the Leicester Road under the Leicester to Birmingham railway bridge. This can cause significant disruption to local traffic. Over recent years the maintenance on the river appears to have been reduced. It can often be seen choked with weeds and other vegetation.

Braunstone is a civil parish and is the largest parish within the district of Blaby in Leicestershire, England, now known as the Town of Braunstone or more commonly, Braunstone Town. In 2007 the population was around 15,000. There are around 7,500 households including Thorpe Astley. At the 2011 census the population of the civil parish had increased to 16,850.Braunstone is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, giving a population of "two sokemen and four villeins". The village remained a small settlement (population 238 in 1921) until 1925 when the Leicester Corporation compulsorily purchased the bulk of the Winstanley Braunstone Hall estate. It is just outside the city boundary of Leicester, and the part of the old civil parish now inside the city boundary is also called Braunstone. This part of the parish, which contains a large council estate was detached in 1935 from the Blaby district and Braunstone Parish to become part of the county borough of Leicester, hence the present split. The use of the name Braunstone Town is more recent, and is an attempt by Braunstone Town Council to distinguish their village from the council estate of the same name. Braunstone Town is adjacent to the M1 motorway (junction 21) and is adjoined by the Meridian Business and Leisure Parks, and the Fosse Shopping Park and Grove Triangle retail outlets. Although the parish doesn't have a railway station of its own, Leicester station is close. Leicester PlusBus, is a scheme where train and bus tickets can be bought together at a saving.

Leicester Forest East (LFE) is a large suburban village in Leicestershire, England, west of Leicester, straddling the M1 motorway. It is part of the Blaby district. Leicester Forest East is a popular location among commuters and young families. It was developed primarily between 1920 and 1985, seeing major developments constructed along the Hinckley Road (A47) and to the south-east of the M1 throughout the 1930s. Large-scale housing developments took place in the 1960s, to the north-east and west of the M1 motorway. In the 1980s, a large housing project was constructed at the western edge of the settlement. The village takes its name from the ancient Leicester Forest. The streets through the housing developments to the north-east of the M1 take their names from Ann Packer and Robbie Brightwell, Olympic medalists in the 1964 Tokyo games.
