The Wandlitzer See (colloquial also Wandlitzsee) is a lake in Wandlitz, Brandenburg, Germany. At an elevation of 48.6 m, its surface area is 2.15 km².

Wandlitz is a municipality in the district of Barnim, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated 25 km north of Berlin, and 15 km east of Oranienburg. The municipality was established in 2004 by merger of the nine villages Basdorf, Klosterfelde, Lanke, Prenden, Schönerlinde, Schönwalde, Stolzenhagen, Wandlitz and Zerpenschleuse. The communal government of the Great municipality has its seat in Wandlitz directly. It consists of deputies from the several parts of the commune and in accordance with the election results of the existing parties here.

Waldsiedlung (German for "Forest settlement") was the secure housing zone for the leaders of the German Democratic Republic in Bernau bei Berlin, Brandenburg from 1960 to 1989. Waldsiedlung housed the most senior party members of the ruling Socialist Unity Party of Germany in relative luxury near Wandlitz, 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of East Berlin, with surrounding areas off-limits to all ordinary citizens. Security was provided by soldiers of the Felix Dzerzhinsky Guards Regiment.Nowadays, the community is treated by Germans as a symbol of the elite in the SED party when it ruled East Germany.

The Children's Follow-up Clinic (Kindernachsorgeklinik) Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH in Bernau bei Berlin is a non-profit family-oriented rehabilitation center for children with cancer and heart defects. This clinic was founded on 13 March 2009. The Children's Follow-up Clinic follows a family-oriented rehabilitation (FOR) concept which has been modelled after the "Nachsorgeklinik Tannheim".The clinic consists of four detached two-storey buildings, each with living units and a home therapy. In addition to medical care, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychotherapy, the clinic offers a daycare, a school, a swimming pool, a sports hall and a youth club. It has a capacity for 28 patients and 72 family members. The clinic is located in the Waldsiedlung, a district of Bernau near Berlin. The buildings formerly belonged to the East German government.

Basdorf is a village to the north of Berlin, in the German federal state of Brandenburg. Until 2003, when it merged into Wandlitz, it was an autonomous municipality.

Liepnitzsee is a German lake located in the municipalities of Wandlitz and Bernau bei Berlin, Brandenburg. At an elevation of 49.7 m, its surface area is 1.17 km².

Zehlendorf (German: Zehlendorf bei Oranienburg) is a village belonging to the city Oranienburg in Brandenburg. It was incorporated into Oranienburg on 26 October 2003. The village was home to the Sender Zehlendorf, a transmission site for long wave and medium wave radio.

Bogensee is a small lake near Wandlitz in the German state of Brandenburg, located about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of the Berlin city limits. The oval-shaped lake, a relic of the last ice age, is located on the Barnim Plateau and part of the Barnim Nature Park. It covers an area of approximately 9,200 m2 (99,000 sq ft), and is 180 m (590 ft) in width (west to east) and 300 m (980 ft) in length (south to north). The maximum depth is given as 2.5 m (8.2 ft). The surrounding estates of Lanke manor were acquired by the City of Berlin in 1919. There are no buildings, paths or beaches directly on the banks of the lake. Bogensee is known for the nearby former summer retreat of Nazi minister Joseph Goebbels, located approximately 500 m (1,600 ft) northwest of the shore. The premises were dedicated to Goebbels by the Berlin city administration on the occasion of his 39th birthday in 1936; he had an extended country home erected at the site until 1939, including a private cinema, a bunker, and adjacent SS barracks. Co-financed by the UFA film company, the building became a popular venue for movie actors like Zarah Leander, Emil Jannings and Heinz Rühmann. Temporarily seized by the Soviet Military Administration after World War II, the former country house was included into the newly established academy of the East German Free German Youth (FDJ) association. A wide building complex was erected from 1951 onwards, according to plans designed by Hermann Henselmann in a Stalinist style. Since German reunification in 1990, most of the buildings have been empty. As of 2018, the property had remained unoccupied for two decades.

Sender Zehlendorf or Zehlendorf (radio) transmission facility was a radio transmission facility which was in service since 1936, when a short wave transmitter was built on the occasion of the Berlin 1936 Summer Olympics in Zehlendorf (a village near Oranienburg) as part of the establishment of permanent radio services. This Zehlendorf site, which until the end of World War II was referred to as the Rehmate Radio Transmission Centre (German: Funksendestelle Rehmate), had 26 different antennas at the time (that is, before and at the end of World War II). In 2017 the last antenna at the site was demolished by controlled implosion, ending the era of the transmission towers in Zehlendorf.

Barnim Nature Park (Naturpark Barnim) is a nature park and reserve in the state of Brandenburg, and partly in Berlin, Germany. It covers an area of 750 km2 (290 sq mi). It was established on September 24, 1998.

The ADGB Trade Union School (Bundesschule des Allgemeinen Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbundes (ADGB)), is a training centre complex in Bernau bei Berlin, Germany. It was built for the former General German Trade Union Federation, from 1928 to 1930. It is a textbook example of Bauhaus functionalist architecture, both in the finished product and in the analytical and collaborative approach used develop the design and complete the project. Next to the Bauhaus Dessau building, it was the second-largest project ever undertaken by the Bauhaus.It was designed by the Bauhaus director Hannes Meyer, with Hans Wittwer, who taught the Bauhaus building theory course alongside Meyer. The two architects, both Swiss, had also worked together in their hometown, Basel. Students from the building theory course and other areas of the Bauhaus were also involved with the design, construction and interior fitting of the complex.In 2017 the ADGB Trade Union School was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Bauhaus and its Sites in Weimar, Dessau and Bernau.

The Finow Canal (German Finowkanal) is one of the oldest artificial waterways in Europe. Construction began in 1605 The channel, about 50 kilometres (31 mi) long, is in the German state of Brandenburg in the Barnim district. It was built for the first time in 1605 and connects the Oder and Havel rivers. The Ragöse river flows into the canal. After completion of the straighter Oder–Havel Canal in 1914, the economic relevance of the Finow Canal decreased. Today it is mainly used for tourism. The Experimental Radio Station Eberswalde is also at the Finow Canal.
