Basdorf

The Wandlitzer See (colloquial also Wandlitzsee) is a lake in Wandlitz, Brandenburg, Germany. At an elevation of 48.6 m, its surface area is 2.15 km².

Wandlitz is a municipality in the district of Barnim, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated 25 km north of Berlin, and 15 km east of Oranienburg. The municipality was established in 2004 by merger of the nine villages Basdorf, Klosterfelde, Lanke, Prenden, Schönerlinde, Schönwalde, Stolzenhagen, Wandlitz and Zerpenschleuse. The communal government of the Great municipality has its seat in Wandlitz directly. It consists of deputies from the several parts of the commune and in accordance with the election results of the existing parties here.

The Barnim Panorama, owned by the municipality Wandlitz, was created in September 2013 by combining the Agrarmuseum Wandlitz and the visitor center of the Barnim Nature Park. It has the largest agricultural collection in Brandenburg and offers six themed rooms to give visitors an insight into the 200-year-old history of agriculture in Brandenburg. The museum in the quarter Wandlitz was built in 1955 and could only use provisional arrangements until 2013. Because of the growing demand for more exhibition space and better opportunities to present its collection, the quarter decided to construct a new building across the street from the original museum.

The Children's Follow-up Clinic (Kindernachsorgeklinik) Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH in Bernau bei Berlin is a non-profit family-oriented rehabilitation center for children with cancer and heart defects. This clinic was founded on 13 March 2009. The Children's Follow-up Clinic follows a family-oriented rehabilitation (FOR) concept which has been modelled after the "Nachsorgeklinik Tannheim".The clinic consists of four detached two-storey buildings, each with living units and a home therapy. In addition to medical care, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychotherapy, the clinic offers a daycare, a school, a swimming pool, a sports hall and a youth club. It has a capacity for 28 patients and 72 family members. The clinic is located in the Waldsiedlung, a district of Bernau near Berlin. The buildings formerly belonged to the East German government.

Waldsiedlung (German for "Forest settlement") was the secure housing zone for the leaders of the German Democratic Republic in Bernau bei Berlin, Brandenburg from 1960 to 1989. Waldsiedlung housed the most senior party members of the ruling Socialist Unity Party of Germany in relative luxury near Wandlitz, 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of East Berlin, with surrounding areas off-limits to all ordinary citizens. Security was provided by soldiers of the Felix Dzerzhinsky Guards Regiment.Nowadays, the community is treated by Germans as a symbol of the elite in the SED party when it ruled East Germany.

Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle is a railway station in the Oberhavel district of Brandenburg. It is served by the S-Bahn line . The station was opened on 2 September 1984. The station is one of the few, which is just single-track. It does not cause problems, because only every 10 minutes a train stops (from each side every 20 minutes).

The Arkenberge is a hill in the Berlin municipality of Blankenfelde in the borough of Pankow. The name was originally given to a natural hill ridge on the site, and the nearby settlement of Arkenberge was named after that chain of little hills. In 1984 a rubble heap for building waste was established east of this settlement. In January 2015, it was determined that the top of this tip had reached a height of 120.7 m above sea level (NHN). Since then it has been ranked as the highest point in the state of Berlin, superseding the Teufelsberg. However, the highest natural point in Berlin is the Großer Müggelberg (114.7 m above sea level (NHN)).

Arkenberger Baggersee is an artificial lake in the Barnim Nature Park, close to the Blankenfelde locality in the Pankow borough of Berlin, Germany. Its surface area is 13 ha.

Liepnitzsee is a German lake located in the municipalities of Wandlitz and Bernau bei Berlin, Brandenburg. At an elevation of 49.7 m, its surface area is 1.17 km².

Zehlendorf (German: Zehlendorf bei Oranienburg) is a village belonging to the city Oranienburg in Brandenburg. It was incorporated into Oranienburg on 26 October 2003. The village was home to the Sender Zehlendorf, a transmission site for long wave and medium wave radio.

Sender Zehlendorf or Zehlendorf (radio) transmission facility was a radio transmission facility which was in service since 1936, when a short wave transmitter was built on the occasion of the Berlin 1936 Summer Olympics in Zehlendorf (a village near Oranienburg) as part of the establishment of permanent radio services. This Zehlendorf site, which until the end of World War II was referred to as the Rehmate Radio Transmission Centre (German: Funksendestelle Rehmate), had 26 different antennas at the time (that is, before and at the end of World War II). In 2017 the last antenna at the site was demolished by controlled implosion, ending the era of the transmission towers in Zehlendorf.
