Potgietersrus Rugby Stadium is a rugby union stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. It seats 4,000 people. Previously it was used as home venue by the Katlehong City Football Club, but when the club was relegated from the National First Division in May 2002, they moved their home venue to another place in the Free State Province. Since then, the stadium has mostly been used to host various Rugby games in Johannesburg.

Vosloorus is a large township situated south of Boksburg and just east of Katlehong in Ekurhuleni, just 30 kilometres south-east of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1963 when Black Africans were removed from Stirtonville because it was considered by the government too close to a white town. Stirtonville, renamed Reiger Park, has since become home to Boksburg's coloured community. A local authority was established in 1983 when Vosloorus was given full municipal status.

Thokoza, alternatively rendered Tokoza, is a township in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. Thokoza is at the location of the now-defunct Palmietfontein Airport. It is situated south east of Alberton, adjacent to Katlehong. Thokoza was the first black township which was established in the South. During the early 1990s Thokoza was the middle of unrest between the supporters of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), rival party of the African National Congress (ANC).

Katlehong is a large township in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. It is 28 km south-east of Johannesburg and south of Germiston between two other townships of Thokoza and Vosloorus next to the N3 highway. It forms part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Hoërskool Alberton is a Dual-medium high school in Florentia, Alberton, South Africa. The school has approximately 800 learners.On Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1948, the books, furniture, and other supplies in use in the middle section of the Kruger School were transferred to the new junior high school in Alberton. The first principal, P.F. Erasmus, opened the school with nine teachers and 183 pupils. The school was officially opened on Feb. 24, 1949 by the Administrator of the Transvaal, Dr. W Nicol. In 1954, the junior high school became a full-fledged high school with ten pupils in standard ten. Improvements were made to the existing buildings in 1954 and 1959. From 1960 to 1975, Mr. J.J. le Roux was head of the school. From 1976 to August 1994 Dr. P. Krynauw was the principal. From August 1994 - 2016, Mr. H.J. Schoeman has served as principal. Since 2017, Mr. J Jordaan has taken over the reigns as principal

Kweneng’ ruins are the remains of a pre-colonial Tswana capital occupied from the 15th to the 19th century AD in South Africa. The site is located 30km south of the modern-day city of Johannesburg. Settlement at the site likely began around the 1400s and saw its peak in the 15th century. The Kweneng' ruins are similar to those built by other early civilizations found in the southern Africa region during this period, including the Luba–Lunda kingdom, Kingdom of Mutapa, Bokoni, and many others, as these groups share ancestry. Kweneng' was the largest of several sizable settlements inhabited by Tswana speakers prior to European arrival. Several circular stone walled family compounds are spread out over an area 10km long and 2km wide. It is likely that Kweneng' was abandoned in the 1820s during the period of colonial expansion-related civil wars known as the Mfecane or Difaqane, leading to the dispersal of its inhabitants.

Alberton is a town situated on the southern part of the East Rand of the Gauteng Province in South Africa and is situated very close to the major urban centre of Johannesburg. Alberton is described as a typical suburban community, one which is primarily residential in character, with most of its workers commuting to work in nearby suburbs or cities such as Johannesburg and Germiston.
