Hutchinson House (Alstead, New Hampshire)

Alstead () is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,864 at the 2020 census. Alstead is home to Feuer State Forest.

The Shedd-Porter Memorial Library, located at 3 Main Street, is the public library of Alstead, New Hampshire. The library building was a gift to the town from John Graves Shedd and Mary Roenna (Porter) Shedd, and is a Beaux Arts building built in 1910 to a design by William H. McLean and Albert H. Wright. Shedd also donated 2,000 books to the library, whose collection now exceeds 10,000 volumes. The library building, one of the finest of the period in the state, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Marion Nicholl Rawson (June 24, 1878 – December 4, 1956) was an author, illustrator, artist and lecturer.

The Jewett-Kemp-Marlens House is a historic house on North Road in Alstead, New Hampshire. Probably built sometime between 1798 and 1806, the house is notable for the well-preserved and conserved stencilwork of the itinerant 19th-century folk artist Moses Eaton. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The Cold River Bridge, also known as McDermott Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge spanning the Cold River near Crane Brook Road in Langdon, New Hampshire, USA. Built in 1869, it is one of the state's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is closed to vehicular traffic.

Distant Hill Gardens and Nature Trail is a privately owned 155-acre (63 ha) wildlife garden in New Hampshire, United States. The property is protected by a conservation easement. Features include a stone circle, outdoor sculptures, "450 varieties of labeled plants, a managed forest, a milkweed meadow, a pollinator meadow, a cranberry bog, a restored sugarbush, and 11 vernal pools. There's also a mile-long wheelchair and stroller-accessible trail, a beaver pond, more than 30 species of native trees and 150 acres of forest." Located in Cheshire County, within the towns of Walpole and Alstead, the gardens were built by married couple Michael and Kathy Nerrie, who first moved to what was then a 21-acre (8.5 ha) parcel in the 1970s as "back-to-the-landers." Michael Nerrie created the found-material sculptures that dot the property. They first opened Distant Hill to tourists and school groups in the 1990s. The property is accessible on selected weekends May through October.

Drewsville is an unincorporated community in the town of Walpole in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The village is located in the northeastern corner of Walpole, just south of the valley of the Cold River. New Hampshire Route 123 passes through the village, connecting it with Alstead to the east and the rest of Walpole (including North Walpole) and Bellows Falls, Vermont to the west. The Drewsville Mansion is a historic house on Old Cheshire Turnpike in the Drewsville village of Walpole, New Hampshire, United States. Built in 1880, it is a regionally rare example of vernacular Stick/Eastlake style architecture, located in an area that has predominantly even older buildings. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Langdon Meeting House is a historic meeting house and former church at 5 Walker Hill Road in Langdon, New Hampshire. Completed in 1803 as a combination town hall and church, it is now a multifunction space owned by the town, and is claimed by the town to hold the record for consecutive town meetings held in the same space. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Prentiss Bridge is a historic covered bridge in Langdon, New Hampshire. Built about 1874, it spans Great Brook just east of the modern alignment of Chester Turnpike, which it carried until it was bypassed by a modern bridge in 1955. At 36 feet (11 m) in length, it is the shortest 19th-century covered bridge built for use on a public roadway in New Hampshire that is still standing. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Great Brook is a 10.0-mile-long (16.1 km) tributary of the Cold River in western New Hampshire in the United States. Part of the Connecticut River watershed, Great Brook begins in the highlands in the town of Acworth, New Hampshire, and flows southwest through the center of the town of Langdon, joining the Cold River 2 miles (3 km) upstream from the Connecticut River.
