Château de Reichenstein, Kientzheim

Château de Reichenstein (Reichenstein Castle) is a ruined castle in the commune of Riquewihr, in the department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. It has been a listed historical monument since 1990.The ruin lies in the valley of the Sambach (a local brook). The ruin is near to Château de Bilstein, another castle ruin.

A popular tourist attraction for its historical architecture, Riquewihr is also known for the Riesling and other wines produced in the village. Riquewihr looks today more or less as it did in the 16th century. It is located on the Route des Vins (The Wines Road), close to Colmar.

The Château de Bilstein is a castle ruin in the commune of Riquewihr in the Haut-Rhin département of France.The origin of the castle dates from the 12th century, with additional building work done in the 14th century. The castle was destroyed in 1636. It has been classified since 1898 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.The ruin is near to that of another castle ruin, Château de Reichenstein, both popular hiking destinations. The ruin of Chateau de Bilstein lies just off GR 5.Château de Bilstein should not be confused with another Château du Bilstein or Bildstein in Urbeis, Bas-Rhin. That château is usually referred to as Chateau du Bilstein Lorrain to avoid confusion.

The Château de Saint-Ulrich (also known as Château de Grand-Ribeaupierre or Ulrichsburg) is one of three castles (with the Girsberg and the Haut-Ribeaupierre) which overlooks the commune of Ribeauvillé in the Haut-Rhin département of France. It is situated at an altitude of 528 m. The present name of the site is from the chapel dedicated to Saint Ulrich of Augsburg which is found in the castle. Medieval texts never gave the present name - the castle had the name of the Rappolstein dynasty (or Ribeaupierre in the French style).

The Château du Girsberg (also Guirsberg, formerly named Petit-Ribeaupierre) is one of three castles (with the Château de Saint-Ulrich and the Haut-Ribeaupierre) which overlook the commune of Ribeauvillé in the Haut-Rhin département of France. It stands at an altitude of 528 m. The Lords of Ribeaupierre built the castle, then named Stein (La Roche), in the 13th century. They rebuilt it after a fire caused by lightning in 1288. In 1304, they gave it to their vassals, the knights of Guirsberg, from whom the castle took its name. The Guirsbergs kept it until they died out in the 15th century. It was abandoned in the 17th century. The Château du Haut-Ribeaupierre (German: Hohrappolstein or Burg Hohrappoltstein) is one of three castles (with the Château de Saint-Ulrich and the Château du Girsberg) which overlook the commune of Ribeauvillé in the Haut-Rhin département of France. Situated at an altitude of 642 m, it overlooks the other two castles.

Château de Lupfen-Schwendi is a castle in the former commune of Kientzheim (now Kaysersberg Vignoble), in the department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. It has been listed since 1994 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.The castle was originally built by Jean I de Lupfen, Prince-Bishop of Constance, one of the counts of Lupfen, known in German as Johann von Lupfen, some time before his death in 1536. Ownership passed to Lazarus von Schwendi, who also owned Château du Hohlandsbourg, who rebuilt part of the castle and extended it.Since 1972, the castle has been owned by la Confrérie Saint-Etienne, a local gastronomic society, which has housed a museum dedicated to wine in one of the buildings since 1980.

Kientzheim (French pronunciation: [kintsaim] ; German: Kienzheim; Alsatian: Kientza) is a former commune in the Haut-Rhin department in north-eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Kaysersberg Vignoble.
