Château de Bilstein

Château de Reichenstein is a château in the former commune of Kientzheim (now Kaysersberg Vignoble), in the department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. It has been a listed historical monument since 1996.It is not to be confused with the eponymous castle near Riquewihr.

The Château de Saint-Ulrich (also known as Château de Grand-Ribeaupierre or Ulrichsburg) is one of three castles (with the Girsberg and the Haut-Ribeaupierre) which overlooks the commune of Ribeauvillé in the Haut-Rhin département of France. It is situated at an altitude of 528 m. The present name of the site is from the chapel dedicated to Saint Ulrich of Augsburg which is found in the castle. Medieval texts never gave the present name - the castle had the name of the Rappolstein dynasty (or Ribeaupierre in the French style).

It stands at an altitude of 528 m. The Lords of Ribeaupierre built the castle, then named Stein (La Roche), in the 13th century. They rebuilt it after a fire caused by lightning in 1288. In 1304, they gave it to their vassals, the knights of Guirsberg, from whom the castle took its name. The Guirsbergs kept it until they died out in the 15th century. It was abandoned in the 17th century. The remains currently visible date from several epochs: 13th century : pentagonal keep 14th century : inner court 15th century : corps de logisIt has been listed since 1841 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Riquewihr (French pronunciation: [ʁikviʁ] ; Alsatian: Richewihr; German: Reichenweier [ˈʁaɪçn̩vaɪɐ] ) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. The Taennchel is one of the summits of the Vosges Mountains, rising to 988 metres (3,241 ft). The Taennchel rises at the East of France, in the département of Haut-Rhin (region Alsace), halfway between Strasbourg to the North and Mulhouse to the South, around 60 km (40 mi) from both cities. The general area around the crest, which is 6 km long, is enigmatic. The ground is strewn with rocks and various inscriptions, many of them undeciphered and remaining mysterious. Another curiosity is the "pagan wall" which covers its sides and whose origin is unknown. The summit shelters numerous vegetable and animal species, including the lynx, which was reintroduced to the area during the 20th century.

The Alsatian Grand Cru vineyard Schoenenbourg is situated north of the village Riquewihr. The vineyard faces south and south-east on the steep hill Schoenenbourg. The altitude of the vines are between 265 and 380 meters and covers 53.4 ha og Keuper subsoil with marl, gypsum and dolomite.
