KDNA (St. Louis)

Gaslight Square in St. Louis, Missouri, was an entertainment district located in an area close to the intersection of Olive and Boyle streets, near the eastern part of what is now known as the Central West End neighborhood and close to the current Grand Center arts and theater district and the adjoining Midtown neighborhood.

Listed below are notable or preserved private residences in the United States of significant American writers. These writers' homes, where many Pulitzer Prize-winning books were written, also inspired the settings of many notable poems, short stories and novels.

The Kate Chopin House, located at 4232 McPherson Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, is the former home of author Kate Chopin. The house was built in 1897 by contractor Oscar F. Humphrey. Chopin moved to the house in 1903 and lived there until her death in 1904; while living in the house, she wrote her last poem and story. Chopin grew up in St. Louis before moving to Louisiana with her husband; after his death, she returned to St. Louis, where she began her writing career. Her stories discussed the evolving role of women in American society, and contemporary literary critics considered her one of the most significant St. Louis authors of the period. The house at 4232 McPherson is her only surviving former residence in St. Louis.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 14, 1986.

Douglass University was a university established for African Americans in 1926 in located in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the second university in the state of Missouri to admit African American students; and it was the second U.S. law school that admitted African Americans for a full law degree. The university moved locations many times within the same city; as well as remained active off-and-on for decades after its founding.

Rosati-Kain High School is an all-girls Catholic high school in St. Louis, Missouri. Rosati-Kain is accredited as a college preparatory school by the North Central Association, the Missouri Department of Education, and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, is a Catholic cathedral in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Completed in 1914, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski. The cathedral is named for Saint Louis and was designated a basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1997.The cathedral was built as a replacement for the previous cathedral, the Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France, located along the Mississippi River. Although workers began clearing ground for the building on May 1, 1907, dedication of the cathedral and its first Mass did not take place until October 18, 1914, when the superstructure was complete. Consecration of the church took place more than a decade later on June 29, 1926. The church is known for its large mosaic installation (which is one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere), and for its burial crypts.

Second Presbyterian Church is a historic church at 4501 Westminster Place in St. Louis, Missouri.

Metro Academic and Classical High School is a magnet public high school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, that is part of the St. Louis Public Schools school district. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 377 students and 24 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.7:1. There were 374 students (99.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Metro is notable for being one of two International Baccalaureate World Schools in Missouri. Their IB Diploma Programme is coordinated by Sharleta Williams.

Vandeventer is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The area is bounded by Dr. Martin Luther King Drive on the North, Delmar Boulevard on the South, Vandeventer Avenue on the East, and Newstead Avenue on the West.

Ranken Technical College is a private technical school in St. Louis, Missouri. It offers programs in five main divisions: Automotive, Electrical, Construction, Information Technology, and Manufacturing. The school has a student body consisting of approximately 2,300 students.

The Central West End is a neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, stretching from Midtown's western edge to Union Boulevard and bordering on Forest Park with its outstanding array of free cultural institutions. It includes the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis (the New Cathedral) on Lindell Boulevard at Newstead Avenue, which houses the largest collection of mosaics in the world. The Central West End sits entirely within the 9th Ward.

The Sanitol Building, at 4252-64 Laclede Ave. in St. Louis, Missouri, was built in 1906. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.It is a two-story red-brown brick building, on a limestone foundation, which was built as a factory and offices building for the Sanitol Chemical Laboratory Company. It was designed by architect George W. Hellmuth, and it includes Classical Revival detailing.
