Cortex Innovation Community, Cortex Innovation District, or Cortex is an innovation district in the Midtown neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. A 200-acre hub for technology and biological science research, development, and commercialization, Cortex is a main location for the city's technology startup companies. It is near Washington University School of Medicine, Saint Louis University, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Cortex officials say their master plan calls for $2.3 billion of construction, producing more than 4.5 million square feet of mixed-use development to house 13,000 jobs in technology.Cortex 3.0, a $170 million expansion was completed in fall 2018.

Cortex station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. It opened on July 31, 2018, as an infill station just east of Boyle Ave in the Cortex Innovation Community in St. Louis' Central West End neighborhood. It was built as a public-private partnership between the Bi-State Development Agency (Metro), Washington University in St. Louis, BJC HealthCare, and the City of St. Louis. In partnership with Great Rivers Greenway, the first segment of the Brickline Greenway was opened with the new station. Eventually the Brickline will travel between the Gateway Arch and Forest Park in addition to North and South St. Louis.

The Central West End is a neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, stretching from Midtown's western edge to Union Boulevard and bordering on Forest Park with its outstanding array of free cultural institutions. It includes the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis (the New Cathedral) on Lindell Boulevard at Newstead Avenue, which houses the largest collection of mosaics in the world. The Central West End sits entirely within the 9th Ward.

The 1907 Dorris Motor Car Company Building is a factory and industrial warehouse located at what is now 4059 – 4065 Forest Park Avenue in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The building was originally constructed in 1907 as an automobile factory for the Dorris Motor Car Company and was modified in 1909 with the addition of a third story. It was the headquarters and manufacturing facility for the company until 1926, and the company played a significant role in the establishment of St. Louis as an automotive assembly and parts manufacturing center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 10, 2000.In 1926, the Dorris Motor Car Company officially went out of business, but the building has seen subsequent use. It held the Brauer Brothers Manufacturing Company's shoe factory for many years. After the Brauer Brothers Manufacturing Company moved out, the space was used for retail purposes by a furniture store. It then sat vacant for years. In 2004, it was renovated for use by the Center for Emerging Technologies, a startup incubator that is now called the CIC@CET. The building is undergoing further renovation today for continued use by the CIC@CET.

Rosati-Kain High School is an all-girls Catholic high school in St. Louis, Missouri. Rosati-Kain is accredited as a college preparatory school by the North Central Association, the Missouri Department of Education, and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis.

The Kate Chopin House, located at 4232 McPherson Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, is the former home of author Kate Chopin. The house was built in 1897 by contractor Oscar F. Humphrey. Chopin moved to the house in 1903 and lived there until her death in 1904; while living in the house, she wrote her last poem and story. Chopin grew up in St. Louis before moving to Louisiana with her husband; after his death, she returned to St. Louis, where she began her writing career. Her stories discussed the evolving role of women in American society, and contemporary literary critics considered her one of the most significant St. Louis authors of the period. The house at 4232 McPherson is her only surviving former residence in St. Louis.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 14, 1986.

McDonnell Genome Institute (The Elizabeth H. and James S. McDonnell III Genome Institute) at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, is one of three NIH funded large-scale sequencing centers in the United States. Affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine and the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center, the McDonnell Genome Institute is creating, testing and implementing new approaches to the study of genomics with the goal of understanding human health and disease, as well as evolution and the biology of other organisms.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, is a Catholic cathedral in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Completed in 1914, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski. The cathedral is named for Saint Louis and was designated a basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1997.The cathedral was built as a replacement for the previous cathedral, the Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France, located along the Mississippi River. Although workers began clearing ground for the building on May 1, 1907, dedication of the cathedral and its first Mass did not take place until October 18, 1914, when the superstructure was complete. Consecration of the church took place more than a decade later on June 29, 1926. The church is known for its large mosaic installation (which is one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere), and for its burial crypts.

The Butler House is a turreted, brick house built in 1892 for prominent St. Louis tobacco manufacturer James Gay Butler. It was designed in the Queen Anne style by Albert Knell, a Canadian architect.

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes–Jewish College is a college of nursing located in St. Louis. It has one campus: located at Washington University's Medical School and Barnes-Jewish Hospital campus.

It is the metropolitan see of the ecclesiastical province containing three suffragan sees: Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau, the Diocese of Jefferson City, and the Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph. It is led by Archbishop, Mitchell Thomas Rozanski, formerly the Bishop of Springfield in Massachusetts. The archdiocesan cathedral is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The original cathedral and mother church is the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France.
