The Macedonian Evangelical United Church (Macedonian: Македонската Евангелска Обединета Црква, Makedonska Evangelska Obedineta Crkva) is the Macedonian parish of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) located in Preston, a suburb of northern Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Methodist Church parish of the UCA was formed during the mid 1970s and links are maintained between Preston church and the Evangelical Methodist Church based in the Balkans.

The Division of Batman was an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. It took its name from John Batman, one of the founders of the city of Melbourne. The division was created in 1906, replacing the Division of Northern Melbourne, and was abolished in 2019 and replaced by the Division of Cooper.The division was located in Melbourne's northern suburbs. It covered an area of approximately 66 square kilometres (25 sq mi) from Thomastown/Bundoora in the north to Clifton Hill in the south, with Merri Creek providing the vast majority of the western boundary and Darebin Creek, parts of Macleod and Plenty Road in Bundoora providing the eastern boundary. The suburbs of Alphington, Clifton Hill, Fairfield, Kingsbury, Northcote, Preston, Reservoir, and Thornbury; and parts of Bundoora, Coburg North, Macleod, and Thomastown were in this division.Held by Labor for all but 10 years of its history, Batman has traditionally been a safe Labor seat. However, the Greens have made the seat a contest since 2010, where they reduced Labor from a 26.0% margin to a 7.9% margin. Though Labor increased their margin against the Greens to 10.6% in 2013, the Greens reduced Labor's margin to just 1.0% in 2016. At the 2018 Batman by-election however, Labor increased their margin to 4.4% against the Greens.In June 2018, the Australian Electoral Commission announced that, at the 2019 Australian federal election, the division would be re-named Cooper, after Aboriginal community leader and activist William Cooper.

The St. Nikola Macedonian Orthodox Church (Macedonian: Македонска Православна Црква "Свети Никола", Makedonska Pravoslavna Crkva "Sveti Nikola") is the Macedonian Orthodox church located in Preston, a suburb of northern Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. First consecrated in 1978, after a fire, the church was rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1996. Attendance by parishioners averages at some 200 per liturgy.

Preston is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 9 km (5.6 mi) north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Darebin local government area. Preston recorded a population of 33,790 at the 2021 census.

The City of Preston was a local government area about 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of 37.05 square kilometres (14.31 sq mi), and existed from 1871 until 1994.

Northland Shopping Centre is a major shopping centre in Preston, approximately 11 km north of the Melbourne Central Business District in Victoria. It is the largest predominantly single-level shopping centre in Melbourne. It has more than 330 stores all spread over one floor apart from the cinemas and Pancake Parlour on a smaller top level. The centre is anchored by a Myer department store (4 levels), Target and Kmart department stores, Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets, as well as mini majors Best & Less, JB Hi-Fi, Rebel Sport, TK Maxx and Chemist Warehouse, international brands H&M, Uniqlo and Sephora, and a Hoyts Cinema complex.

Regent railway station is located on the Mernda line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Reservoir, and it opened on 8 October 1889 as Preston-Regent Street. It was renamed Regent on 1 August 1905.

East Preston tram depot was a depot on the Yarra Trams network in Melbourne. Located on Plenty Road, East Preston, it opened in 1955 to coincide with the reintroduction of trams to Bourke Street. It closed in April 2016.

The Division of Cooper is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. It takes in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The division was contested for the first time at the 2019 federal election, with Ged Kearney of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) elected as its inaugural member of parliament. She had previously represented the Division of Batman since the 2018 by-election.

Samaritan Catholic College was a Roman Catholic boys' high school, located in Preston, Melbourne, Australia. The College was a school founded and run in the tradition of the Marist Brothers and their founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat. Samaritan was established in 2000, as an amalgamation of two former Marist Colleges: St. Joseph's in Fitzroy North, and Redden Catholic College, which was located on the site now used by the Parade College Preston Campus. Samaritan College was a member of the Associated Catholic Colleges. In January 2009, Samaritan Catholic College ceased to be a school in its own right due to declining numbers. Parade College now uses the site as its Preston Campus.

The district was defined by the Electoral Districts Boundaries Act 1903:Commencing at the intersection of Nicholson-street and Scotchmer-street; thence east by Scotchmer-street to Falconer-street; thence north-easterly by that street to the Merri Creek; thence easterly and southerly by that creek to the Yarra River; thence easterly and north-easterly by the Yarra River to the Plenty River ; thence northerly by that river to the south boundary of section 17, parish of Keelbundora ; thence west by that boundary and the south boundaries of sections 16 and 15 to the Whittlesea-road; thence north-easterly by that road to the north boundary of section 15; thence west by the north boundaries of sections 15, 14, and 13 to the Merri Creek ; thence southerly by that creek to the north boundary of the parish of Jika Jika ; thence east by that boundary to the east boundary of section 148 in the last-named parish ; thence south by that boundary and James-street to Bell-street; thence west by Bell-street to the Merri Creek ; thence southerly by that creek to the north boundary creek to the north boundary of the parish of Jika Jika ; thence east by that boundary to the east boundary of section 148 in the last-named parish ; thence south by that boundary and James-street to Bell-street; thence west by Bell-street to the Merri Creek ; thence southerly by that creek to the north boundary of portion of 93 ; thence west by that boundary to Nicholson-street to the commencing point. The district was abolished in a redistribution in 1927, replaced by the electoral district of Northcote.

Reservoir High School is a medium-sized co-educational, year 7 to 12 public high school, with approximately 700 students in Reservoir, Victoria, Australia. The school has a well established International Student Program. The program includes students from a range of countries such as China, Vietnam, Nepal, Thailand, India and Saudi Arabia. Reservoir High School is one of a select group of secondary colleges to be accredited to offer advanced learning classes (SEAL or Select Entry Accelerated Learning). In 2021, Reservoir High was recognised by the Age newspaper as a 'School that Excels' due to the continued improvement of its students' achievements and excellent results in the Victorian Certificate of Education. The school's improving achievement is based on a culture of respect and firm discipline, underpinned by strengths based restorative practices and strong focus on the straightforward 'Gradual Release Model' of teaching. Reservoir High has undergone a renewal of its teaching spaces and grounds. This includes the construction of a 250 seat Performing Arts Centre, a new Senior School building, 5 external competition grade netball courts (as well as the 4 internal courts as part of the joint use agreement on the Darebin Sports Stadium) and added in 2022 a new Visual Arts and Technology building. The facilities support all students to achieve at their best in a wide range of pathway programs which are designed to promote the passions, talents and interests of a diverse variety of students.
