Shichahai (simplified Chinese: 什刹海站; traditional Chinese: 什剎海站; pinyin: Shíchàhǎi Zhàn) is a station on Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. The station opened on December 28, 2013. The station is named after Shichahai, a scenic area in Beijing.

The Huode Zhenjun Temple (火德真君庙), also known as the Fire God Temple, located near the Shichahai in central Beijing, is a prominent Taoist temple of the city. First built during the Ming Dynasty and then rebuilt in 1759 during the Qing Dynasty, the temple is known for one of its gate, which boasts its yellow colored glaze tiles that were granted by the Emperor.

Di'anmen (Chinese: 地安門) or Bei'anmen was an imperial gate in Beijing, China. The gate was first built in the Yongle period of the Ming dynasty, and served as the main northern gate to the Imperial City (the southern gate is the much more famed Tiananmen). The gate is located north of Jingshan Park and south of the Drum Tower. The gate was demolished in 1954. Efforts to restore it have been under way since 2013.

The Guo Moruo Residence (郭沫若故居) is the former residence of Guo Moruo (1892–1978) in West Qianhai Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China.

The Kuanjie Protestant Church (Chinese: 宽街教堂) is a state church in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. It is operated by the Three-Self Patriotic Movement.

On August 9, 2008 in the People's Republic of China, two American tourists and their Chinese tour guide were stabbed at the historic Beijing Drum Tower; one of the tourists was killed. The assailant then committed suicide by jumping from the tower. The incident occurred during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The incident has been described as isolated since attacks on foreigners while visiting China are rare.

The Drum Tower of Beijing, or Gulou (traditional Chinese: 鼓樓; simplified Chinese: 鼓楼; pinyin: Gǔlóu), is situated at the northern end of the central axis of the Inner City to the north of Di'anmen Street. Originally built for musical reasons, it was later used to announce the time and is now a tourist attraction. The Bell Tower of Beijing, or Zhonglou (traditional Chinese: 鐘樓; simplified Chinese: 钟楼; pinyin: Zhōnglóu), stands closely behind the drum tower. Together, the Bell Tower and Drum Tower have panoramic views over central Beijing. Before the modern era, both towers dominated the Beijing skyline.

Jiaodaokou Subdistrict (Chinese: 交道口街道; pinyin: jiāodàokǒu jiēdào) is a subdistrict in Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. It contains 7 communities within 1.57 km2 of land, as of 2020 it has a permanent population of 31,951.The subdistrict was named after the Jiaodaokounan (Chinese: 交道口南; lit. 'South of Intersection') Avenue that is located in it.

Shichahai (simplified Chinese: 什刹海; traditional Chinese: 什剎海; pinyin: Shíchàhǎi) is a historic scenic area consisting of three lakes in the north of central Beijing. They are located directly northwest of the Forbidden City and north of the Beihai Lake. Shichahai consists of the following three lakes: Qianhai (前海), Xihai (西海) and Houhai (后海). In imperial times it was called the Riverbank (河沿; héyán).

Beihaibei (Chinese: 北海北站; pinyin: Běihǎi Běi Zhàn) is a station on Line 6 of the Beijing Subway. This station opened on December 30, 2012. It is named for the nearby Beihai Park.

Nanluoguxiang (Chinese: 南锣鼓巷; pinyin: nánluógǔxiàng) is a narrow alley that gives its name to an old part of the Beijing city centre with traditional architecture both new and old. The neighborhood contains many typical narrow streets known as hutong. It is located in the Dongcheng district.The alley itself is approximately 800 metres (2,600 ft) long, running from East Gulou Street in the north to Di'anmen East Street in the south.

Khanbaliq or Dadu of Yuan (Chinese: 元大都) was the winter capital of the Yuan dynasty of China in what is now Beijing, the capital of China today. It was located at the center of modern Beijing. The Secretariat directly administered the Central Region (腹裏) of the Yuan dynasty (comprising present-day Beijing, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, and parts of Henan and Inner Mongolia) and dictated policies for the other provinces. As emperors of the Yuan dynasty, Kublai Khan and his successors also claimed supremacy over the entire Mongol Empire following the death of Möngke (Kublai's brother and predecessor) in 1259. Over time the unified empire gradually fragmented into a number of khanates. Khanbaliq is the direct predecessor to modern Beijing. Several stations of Line 10 and Line 13 are named after the gates of Dadu.
