Bonny Doon Village Airport

The Bonny Doon Ecological Reserve is a nature preserve of 552 acres (2.23 km2) in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, United States. The reserve protects several rare and endangered plant and animal species within an area known as the Santa Cruz Sandhills, an ancient seabed containing fossilized marine animals.The land was purchased in 1989 by The Nature Conservancy which deeded the property to the state, and is now managed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. It is adjacent to the Laguna parcel of the San Vicente Redwoods protected area. The Santa Cruz Mountains are the only known location of the Zayante soil derived from the Santa Margarita geologic formation, that occur in three clusters in Santa Cruz County.

The Ben Lomond Mountain AVA is an American Viticultural Area in Santa Cruz County, California, located on the western edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Jim Beauregard established the AVA in 1983, Beauregard Vineyards and Soquel Vineyards continue to be only wineries that currently produce wine bearing the Ben Lomond Mountain AVA designation. Vineyards were first planted on the mountain in the 1860s sitting at a premium spot for grape growing. The appellation ranges in altitudes as high as 2,600 feet (792 m) above sea level to 1300 feet, placing it between the fog that rolls in from the Pacific Ocean, ensuring long hours of sunlight and long growing season

It is located in the San Lorenzo Valley between Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond on Highway 9. The 2010 United States census reported Brookdale's population was 1,991. The ZIP Code is 95007 and the community is inside area code 831. There is no mail delivery in Brookdale, though no home is more than 1.5 miles from the post office.

The San Lorenzo Valley is in the Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Cruz County, California and was once a logging industry center of California especially during the rebuilding of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake. Now it is home to over 35,000 people. Home to millions of Sequoia sempervirens, or redwood trees, the valley includes the census designated places of Ben Lomond, Felton, Brookdale and Boulder Creek, which lie along the winding, two-lane and outer areas of the valley and Highway 9. The San Lorenzo River starts at its headwaters above Boulder Creek, it runs through the valley on its way to the city of Santa Cruz, where it then flows into the Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean and also supplies the city of Santa Cruz with its drinking water. Much of the river valley is rural and wooded and other areas have neighborhoods and schools, and shopping areas. At its northern end, it abuts Big Basin Redwoods State Park and Castle Rock State Park; toward the southern end is Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.

The San Lorenzo Valley Museum is a pair of galleries and education centers created by the San Lorenzo Valley Historical Society "to preserve and share the history of the San Lorenzo Valley". Founded in March 1976, it operates as a nonprofit educational institution. The Museum's original gallery is located in Boulder Creek. An additional gallery is located in nearby Felton. The Museum's visitors are admitted without charge. Partial funding comes from the California Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Other funding comes from private and corporate contributions, membership dues, and earned retail revenue.

Fall Creek is a 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) southeastward-flowing stream originating on the eastern slopes of Ben Lomond Mountain in the southern Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Cruz County, before joining the San Lorenzo River, whose waters flow to Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Fall Creek is regarded as "the most important tributary stream for coho salmon and steelhead trout in the San Lorenzo River watershed."
