New Haven Harbor

The Sound School is a regional vocational aquaculture center situated in the City Point neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut.

Gateway Community College (GCC) is a public community college with its main campus in New Haven, Connecticut, and an automotive technology campus in North Haven. As of February 17, 2010, GCC had the highest credit enrollment among Connecticut's community colleges, with 7,416 students enrolled in for-credit classes. It was formed in 1992 by the merger of South Central Community College in New Haven and the Greater New Haven State Technical College in North Haven.

City Point (formerly known as Oyster Point) is an area in what is now The Hill neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut, located in the southwestern portion of the city. The City Point area was, when settled and through the 18th century, a relatively narrow peninsula extending south into New Haven Harbor, located where the West River empties into the harbor. Areas adjacent to the original peninsula have since been filled in, broadening its shoulders, and Interstate 95 has cut across it. The Oyster Point Historic District is a 26-acre (11 ha) historic district encompassing an area of relatively old buildings in City Point south of I-95.

United States Coast Guard Station New Haven is located at 120 Woodward Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut 06512. It belongs to the Long Island Sound sector of operations.

Fort Nathan Hale, also known as Fort Hale Park, Black Rock, is a 20-acre (8.1 ha) city park located on the east shore of New Haven Harbor in New Haven, Connecticut. It includes the site of a 1659 fort, a Revolutionary War-era fort, and a Civil War-era fort. The fort was named after Nathan Hale, Connecticut's official hero. Since 1921, the site has been owned by the state of Connecticut. It has been used as a park and maintained as a historical site by the City of New Haven. Educational programs are given throughout the year to students attending local schools. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. In 1970 the listing included three contributing buildings, one contributing site, and three contributing structures.

Long Wharf Theatre is a nonprofit institution in New Haven, Connecticut, a pioneer in the not-for-profit regional theatre movement, the originator of several prominent plays, and a venue where many internationally known actors have appeared. Founded in 1965, the theatre is committed to the creation of new works and the reexamination of classic plays. It is currently led by Artistic Director Jacob G. Padrón and Managing Director Kit Ingui. The theatre has staged world premieres by Samuel D. Hunter, Craig Lucas, Steve Martin, Paula Vogel, Athol Fugard, and Anna Deavere Smith, among others. In addition, some of the nation’s leading actors, including Sam Waterston, Stacy Keach, Brian Dennehy, Al Pacino, Karen Allen, Colleen Dewhurst, Judith Ivey, Jane Alexander, Reg E. Cathey, Mary McDonnell, and Anna Deavere Smith, have performed on one of the theatre’s two stages. In 2022, Long Wharf announced plans to leave its longtime venue and become an itinerant New Haven theater company.

Long Wharf is a waterfront district and neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut, United States. The neighborhood is a mixed-use district, with a combination of commercial, industrial, port, and recreation facilities.

The New Haven Galleria at Long Wharf was a shopping mall proposed for construction in New Haven, Connecticut by mayoral candidate Wally Grigo in 1993.Although Grigo did not win the election, his idea was embraced in a March 1996 announcement by Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. for a $500 million project that would have been completed by 2001. In September 1997, DeStefano spoke of the Galleria as a "high-end mall that will not just make the city proud, but will serve the entire region with distinction."Although "developers from around the world competed to build the mall", the mayor insisted that the winning developer use a local construction family, the Fuscos, who were "major political fund-raisers for the mayor". The contract was eventually awarded to New England Development of Newton.

Hotel Marcel is a Hilton hotel in the Long Wharf district of New Haven, Connecticut. It is housed in the Armstrong Rubber Company Building, later known as the Pirelli Tire Building: a former office building designed by modernist architect Marcel Breuer. The structure is a noted example of Brutalist architecture. Since its renovation into a hotel, the building operates as a zero-energy building, generating enough renewable energy to sustain its operations. The building was constructed from 1968 to 1970 for the headquarters of the Armstrong Rubber Company. Pirelli purchased the site in 1988, and resold the building in 1999. From the late 1990s into the late 2010s, the building was predominantly vacant. The building was listed on the Connecticut Register of Historic Places in 2000, and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021. Conversion to a hotel commenced in 2020, leading to the Hotel Marcel's opening in May 2022.

Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School is an interdistrict middle school located at 150 Kimberly Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut, with a focus on the arts. Students are offered an array of art subjects including music, visual art, dance and theater along with additional disciplines within each subject. While students do partake in arts classes during each school day, academic programs are also an important focus. Betsy Ross has many connections within the New Haven county community including the Quinnipiac University College Scholars Program and a residency with Shubert Theatre (New Haven).

The Annex is a residential neighborhood in the city of New Haven, Connecticut. Originally part of East Haven, the neighborhood was voluntarily ceded by East Haven and annexed by the city of New Haven in the 1880s. It is located on the eastern side of New Haven Harbor across from Long Wharf. The City of New Haven defines the neighborhood to be the region bounded by Upson Terrace and East Shore Park on the south (border with Morris Cove), the city of East Haven on the east, Warwick Street and East Ferry Street on the northeast (border with Fair Haven Heights), the Quinnipiac River on the northwest, and New Haven Harbor on the west.

The Howard Avenue Historic District is a 32-acre (13 ha) historic district in The Hill neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. Extending along Howard Avenue between Minor Street and Interstate 95, it contains an unusually high concentration of well-preserved late 19th-century middle class vernacular architecture, reflecting the area's growth at that time. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
