The Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, commonly referred to as the Q Bridge by locals, is an extradosed bridge that carries Interstate 95 (Connecticut Turnpike) over the mouth of the Quinnipiac River in New Haven, in the U.S. state of Connecticut. This bridge replaced the original 1,300 m (0.8 mi) span which opened on January 2, 1958. The old bridge had a girder and floorbeam design where steel beams supported a concrete bridge deck that carried three lanes of traffic in each direction with no inside or outside shoulders. The bridge was officially dedicated as the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in 1995 to commemorate the attack on Pearl Harbor.The old Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge was replaced by a $554 million 10-lane extradosed bridge; the northbound span of which opened to traffic on June 22, 2012. Southbound traffic was shifted onto the new bridge, sharing the northbound span with northbound traffic until the new southbound span was completed in late 2015. Since the Gibbs Street Bridge in Portland, Oregon was redesigned from an extradosed span to a box girder bridge, the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge was the first extradosed bridge completed in the United States when it fully opened in September 2015. The new bridge is the centerpiece of a $2 billion megaproject called the New Haven Harbor Crossing Improvement Program.

The Tomlinson Lift Bridge is a crossing of the Quinnipiac River in New Haven, Connecticut. The bridge forms a segment of U.S. Route 1. The Tomlinson Vertical Lift Bridge carries four lanes of traffic across New Haven Harbor and a single-track freight line owned by the Providence & Worcester Railroad that connects the waterfront with the Northeast Corridor line of Metro North and CSX. A sidewalk is present along the southern edge of the bridge.

The Quinnipiac River is a 45.5-mile (73.2 km) long river in the New England region of the United States, located entirely in the state of Connecticut. The river rises in West Central Connecticut from Dead Wood Swamp near the city of New Britain. It flows roughly southward to Plainville, Southington, and Cheshire, west of the city of Meriden, through Wallingford and Yalesville, North Haven, and flows into New Haven Harbor, an inlet of Long Island Sound, east of downtown New Haven.

The River Street Historic District encompasses a historic industrial area in the Fair Haven section of New Haven, Connecticut. Located south of Chapel Street between James Street and Blatchley Avenue, the industrial buildings here date to New Haven's growth as a major industrial center between the American Civil War and World War I, with significant emphasis on metalworking businesses. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The 29th Colored Regiment Monument is a monument located in Criscuolo Park in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. The monument commemorates the soldiers of the 29th Connecticut Infantry Regiment (Colored) and is located on the grounds of where more than 900 black recruits trained in 1863. It was designed by Ed Hamilton, a sculptor well known for the Amistad Memorial that is also located in New Haven.

Raynham, also known as the Kneeland Townsend House, is a historic residential property at 709 Townsend Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut. It is one of Connecticut's best-preserved Gothic Revival estates, having remained in the Townshend family for seven generations, and has a history dating back to the founding of the New Haven Colony in the 1630s. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Quinnipiac Brewery, also known as Brewery Square, is a complex of brick buildings at 19-23 River Street in the Fair Haven neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. Developed beginning in 1892 and operative until the 1930s, the complex is a rare example of a late 19th-century large-scale (for the time) brewery. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Most of the complex is now residences.

United States Coast Guard Station New Haven is located at 120 Woodward Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut 06512. It belongs to the Long Island Sound sector of operations.

The M. Armstrong and Company Carriage Factory is a historic carriage factory building at 433 Chapel St. in New Haven, Connecticut. Built in 1882, it is one of a small number of surviving 19th-century carriage factories in a city that once had more than 50 such businesses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

English Station is an abandoned thermal power plant in New Haven, Connecticut. It occupies eight acres of land on Ball Island in the Mill River, Connecticut, which separates the neighborhoods of Wooster Square and Fair Haven. It was constructed from 1924 to 1929. The plant operated as a coal- and oil-fired power plant for United Illuminating until it stopped electricity-generating operations in 1991. In 2019-2021 the turbines were removed and certain areas have been prepared for demolition. The site, which United Illuminating sold in 2000, is known to be heavily contaminated with asbestos and PCBs.

Fair Haven Heights, or simply the Heights, is a residential and light industrial neighborhood in the eastern part of the city of New Haven, Connecticut, located east of the Quinnipiac River. Fair Haven Heights is not to be confused with the adjacent Fair Haven neighborhood west of the river. The area is bordered on the west by the Quinnipiac River, on the north by Route 80, on the east by the town of East Haven, and on the south by Ferry Street and Warwick Avenue. The main through routes are Quinnipiac Avenue, East Grand Avenue, and Eastern Street

Mill River is a primarily industrial neighborhood in the city of New Haven, Connecticut located between the Wooster Square and Fair Haven neighborhoods.The area is bordered on the east by the Mill River (from I-95 up to the vicinity of Humphrey Street) then by Amtrak railroad tracks (up to Blatchley Avenue). It is bordered on the west and northwest by Interstate 91 (between Exits 2 and 6), and on the south by Interstate 95. There are two clusters of residential areas in the neighborhood, Farnam Courts, which are low cost apartments managed by the Housing Authority of New Haven, and the area around Jocelyn Square, which was traditionally part of the Upper State Street neighborhood. The northeastern corner of the area east of the river between I-91 (from Exit 5 to 6) and the railroad tracks, where the garage for Connecticut Transit New Haven is located, is also considered to be part of the community known as Cedar Hill. Hamilton Street and East Street are the main north–south thoroughfares, while Humphrey Street, Grand Avenue, and Chapel Street serve as east–west through routes. English Station, an abandoned power plant, is located on Ball Island in Mill River.
