Graniti (Rome Metro)

Monte Compatri-Pantano is the eastern terminus of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located in Pantano (a frazione of the comune of Monte Compatri), along the Via Casilina; thus being the only Roman Metro station outside the Rome municipality border. The station used to serve as the terminus of the Rome–Pantano railway (the urban section of which now forms the Rome–Giardinetti railway). The former railway station was closed in 2008 so as to be rebuilt into the terminus of the new Metro line; it re-opened on 9 November 2014.

Finocchio is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located at the intersection of Via di Rocca Cencia with Via Mandanici and Piazza Serrule, in the Roman frazione of Borgata Finocchio. After a thorough rebuilt, the stop re-opened on 9 November 2014 as part of the new Metro line.

Bolognetta is a stop of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located at the junction of Via Bolognetta and Via Motta Camastra, in the Roman frazione of Borgata Finocchio. The stop was renovated and it re-opened as part of the new Metro line on 9 November 2014.

The Battle of Lake Regillus was a legendary Roman victory over the Latin League shortly after the establishment of the Roman Republic and as part of a wider Latin War. The Latins were led by an elderly Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, the seventh and last King of Rome, who had been expelled in 509 BC, and his son-in-law, Octavius Mamilius, the dictator of Tusculum. The battle marked the final attempt of the Tarquins to reclaim their throne. According to legend, Castor and Pollux fought on the side of the Romans.

Regillus was an ancient lake of Latium, Italy, famous in the legendary history of Rome as the lake in the neighborhood of which occurred (in 496 B.C.) the Battle of Lake Regillus between the Romans and the Latins which finally decided the hegemony of Rome in Latium. The lake, now drained, was near the present-day town of Frascati. During the battle, so the story runs, the Roman dictator Postumius vowed to build a temple to the twin gods Castor and Pollux, who were specially venerated in Tusculum, the chief city of the Latins (it being a Roman custom to invoke the aid of the gods of the enemy). The pair duly appeared during the battle dressed in white armour riding white horses, helped to Romans to prevail, and afterwards took the news of the victory to Rome. There they watered their horses at the spring of Juturna, close to which their temple in the Forum was subsequently erected. There can be little doubt that Lake Regillus actually existed. Of the various identifications proposed, the best is that of Prof. L. Pareti, who locates the lake in a crater, (Prataporci), which lies north of Frascati. The lake has since been drained by an emissarium of uncertain date. Most of the other sites proposed are not, as Regillus should be, within the limits of the territory of Tusculum.

Gabii was an ancient city of Latium, located 18 km (11 mi) due east of Rome along the Via Praenestina, which was in early times known as the Via Gabina. It was on the south-eastern perimeter of an extinct volcanic crater lake, approximately circular in shape, named the Lacus Gabinus, and then during later times called the Lago di Castiglione, "lake of the fortification", after Castiglione, a mediaeval tower erected on the site of the ancient acropolis, or arx, of Gabii. A necropolis is adjacent on that side of the lake. At present, the former lake is entirely agricultural land. The ruins of the ancient city project from the fields next to the cliffs overlooking it, on both sides of the via. A municipium in Roman times, Gabii is currently located in the frazione of Osteria dell'Osa 10 km (6.2 mi) from the comune of Monte Compatri, of which it is a part, in the Province of Rome, Region of Lazio. The site is under new seasonal archaeological excavation.

The church of San Giovanni Maria Vianney is a church in Rome, the Borghesiana area, wide Monreale. It was built in the eighties, in the place of an earlier church built above ground in 1952, and solemnly consecrated by Cardinal Ugo Poletti 4 November 1990; It is dedicated to Saint John Mary Vianney, known simply as "the holy Cure of Ars", which was inspired of the Prado, priestly Association International which took charge of the parish in his first decades of life. The church is home parish, erected July 26, 1963, with the decree of the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Quo efficacius, initially entrusted to the Institute of the Prado, then, since 1974, to the clergy of the Diocese of Treviso, and finally, since 1999, to the priests of the diocese of Rome. On 27 February 1983, the church was visited by Pope John Paul II. Currently the parish priest is Msgr. Marco Gandolfo. In the consistory of February 18, 2012, it is instituted by Pope Benedict XVI the title of cardinal of St. John Mary Vianney. The current Cardinal Priest is Cardinal Rainer Woelki.

Borghesiana is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located between the Via Casilina and Via Biancavilla, in the Roman district of Borghesiana. The station used to be part of the Rome-Pantano railway line until the old station was closed in 2008 so as to be transformed into a Metro stop. It re-opened on 9 November 2014.

Lazio (UK: LAT-see-oh, US: LAHT-, Italian: [ˈlattsjo]) or Latium ( LAY-shee-əm, US also -⁠shəm; from the original Latin name, pronounced [ˈɫati.ũː]) is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy. The capital of Lazio is Rome, which is also the capital and largest city of Italy.

Due Leoni-Fontana Candida is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located along the Via Casilina, on Via della Stazione Due Leoni. The previous train station of the Rome–Pantano railway line closed in 2008 and was totally rebuilt into the current Metro station; the stop was opened on 9 November 2014.

The ESA Centre for Earth Observation (also known as the European Space Research Institute or ESRIN) is a research centre belonging to the European Space Agency (ESA), located in Frascati (Rome) Italy. It is dedicated to research involving earth observation data taken from satellites, among other specialised activities. The establishment currently hosts the European Space Agency's development team for the Vega launcher.

DAFNE or DAΦNE (Double Annular Φ Factory for Nice Experiments), is an electron-positron collider at the INFN Frascati National Laboratory in Frascati, Italy. It consists of 2 accelerator rings, both approximately 100 meters in length. Since 1999 it has been colliding electrons and positrons at a center of mass energy of 1.02 GeV to create phi mesons (φ). 85% of these decay into kaons (K), whose physics is the subject of most of the experiments at DAFNE. There have been five experiments at DAFNE: KLOE (K LOng Experiment), which has been studying CP violation in kaon decays and rare kaon decays since 2000. This is the largest of DAFNE experiments. It has been continued by the KLOE-2 experiment. FINUDA (FIsica NUcleare a DAFNE), studies the spectra and nonmesonic decays of hypernuclei containing Lambda baryons (Λ). The hypernuclei are produced by negatively charged kaons (K−) striking a thin target. DEAR (DAFNE Exotic Atoms Research experiment), determines scattering lengths in atoms made from a kaon and a proton or deuteron. DAFNE Light Laboratory (DAΦNE-L) consists of 3 lines of synchrotron radiation emitted by DAFNE, a fourth is under construction. SIDDHARTA (SIlicon Drift Detectors for Hadronic Atom Research by Timing Application), aims to improve the precision measurements of X-ray transitions in kaon atoms studied at DEAR.
