Borghesiana (Rome Metro)

The church of San Giovanni Maria Vianney is a church in Rome, the Borghesiana area, wide Monreale. It was built in the eighties, in the place of an earlier church built above ground in 1952, and solemnly consecrated by Cardinal Ugo Poletti 4 November 1990; It is dedicated to Saint John Mary Vianney, known simply as "the holy Cure of Ars", which was inspired of the Prado, priestly Association International which took charge of the parish in his first decades of life. The church is home parish, erected July 26, 1963, with the decree of the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Quo efficacius, initially entrusted to the Institute of the Prado, then, since 1974, to the clergy of the Diocese of Treviso, and finally, since 1999, to the priests of the diocese of Rome. On 27 February 1983, the church was visited by Pope John Paul II. Currently the parish priest is Msgr. Marco Gandolfo. In the consistory of February 18, 2012, it is instituted by Pope Benedict XVI the title of cardinal of St. John Mary Vianney. The current Cardinal Priest is Cardinal Rainer Woelki.

Due Leoni-Fontana Candida is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located along the Via Casilina, on Via della Stazione Due Leoni. The previous train station of the Rome–Pantano railway line closed in 2008 and was totally rebuilt into the current Metro station; the stop was opened on 9 November 2014.

Bolognetta is a stop of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located at the junction of Via Bolognetta and Via Motta Camastra, in the Roman frazione of Borgata Finocchio. The stop was renovated and it re-opened as part of the new Metro line on 9 November 2014.

Finocchio is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located at the intersection of Via di Rocca Cencia with Via Mandanici and Piazza Serrule, in the Roman frazione of Borgata Finocchio. After a thorough rebuilt, the stop re-opened on 9 November 2014 as part of the new Metro line.

Grotte Celoni is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located along the Via Casilina in the Roman district of Grotte Celoni, but it also serves the districts of Tor Bella Monaca and Villaggio Breda. The previous train station of the Rome–Pantano railway line closed in 2008 as part of the renovation and modernisation programme; it was re-opened on 9 November 2014 as part of Line C.

Santa Maria Causa Nostrae Laetitiae is a 20th-century parochial church and titular church on the eastern edge of Rome. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, with the phrase causa nostræ lætitæ ("cause of our joy") being taken from the Litany of Loreto.

Graniti is a station of Line C of Rome Metro. It is located at the intersection of Via Graniti with Via Tortorici, in the Roman frazione of Borgata Finocchio. It used to be a train station of the Rome-Pantano railway line until 2008, when rebuilding works commenced. With the inauguration of Line C, the stop re-opened on 9 November 2014. This station also serves the nearby depot of the line's rolling stock, and it extends over 21.7 hectares.Among the other things, the premises host the maintenance and control centre of Line C.

Torre Gaia is a station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located along the Via Casilina and serves the Roman districts Torre Gaia and Tor Bella Monaca. The former train station of the Rome–Pantano railway line closed in 2008; the new Metro station, which opened on 9 November 2014, has been built nearby.

World Youth Day 2000 (Italian: Giornata mondiale della gioventù 2000) was a Catholic youth festival held from 15–20 August 2000 in Rome, Italy.

The Church of Santa Maria Madre del Redentore a Tor Bella Monaca is one of the titular churches of Rome to which Cardinal Priests of the Roman Catholic Church may be appointed. It was established as a titular church in 1988 by Pope John Paul II for Cardinal James Hickey, Archbishop of Washington. The church is named for Mary, Mother of Jesus. It is located in the Tor Bella Monaca section of Rome, in Municipio VIII. The present Cardinal Priest of this Titular Church is Joseph Zen, SDB, the Diocesan Bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Hong Kong in China. On 24 March 2006 Pope Benedict XVI elevated him to the dignity of a Cardinal Priest assigned to the above titular church. Pope Francis was scheduled to visit the church (stopping beforehand briefly at the Church of Santa Giovanna Antida) in a pastoral visit on the Third Sunday of Lent, Sunday, 8 March 2015, in the afternoon, to preside at Mass and give the homily.

The Battle of Lake Regillus was a legendary Roman victory over the Latin League shortly after the establishment of the Roman Republic and as part of a wider Latin War. The Latins were led by an elderly Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, the seventh and last King of Rome, who had been expelled in 509 BC, and his son-in-law, Octavius Mamilius, the dictator of Tusculum. The battle marked the final attempt of the Tarquins to reclaim their throne. According to legend, Castor and Pollux fought on the side of the Romans.

Regillus was an ancient lake of Latium, Italy, famous in the legendary history of Rome as the lake in the neighborhood of which occurred (in 496 B.C.) the Battle of Lake Regillus between the Romans and the Latins which finally decided the hegemony of Rome in Latium. The lake, now drained, was near the present-day town of Frascati. During the battle, so the story runs, the Roman dictator Postumius vowed to build a temple to the twin gods Castor and Pollux, who were specially venerated in Tusculum, the chief city of the Latins (it being a Roman custom to invoke the aid of the gods of the enemy). The pair duly appeared during the battle dressed in white armour riding white horses, helped to Romans to prevail, and afterwards took the news of the victory to Rome. There they watered their horses at the spring of Juturna, close to which their temple in the Forum was subsequently erected. There can be little doubt that Lake Regillus actually existed. Of the various identifications proposed, the best is that of Prof. L. Pareti, who locates the lake in a crater, (Prataporci), which lies north of Frascati. The lake has since been drained by an emissarium of uncertain date. Most of the other sites proposed are not, as Regillus should be, within the limits of the territory of Tusculum.
