The Oakland Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Dallas, Texas, United States. It originally stood on 180 acres in rural Dallas County 1.5 miles southeast of the county court house when it opened in 1892. Economic problems, court judgements, land sales and acquisitions altered the cemetery to approximately 48 acres by 1969. About 27,000 people have selected Oakland Cemetery as the burial location for themselves and/or their family members. Burials include many prominent politicians, educators, physicians, ministers, business leaders, military service members, ancestors of famous individuals and ordinary citizens. The cemetery has a number of interesting memorials, sculptures and vaults. Mount Auburn pauper cemetery, owned by the city of Dallas, a Dallas county pauper cemetery (Rest Haven), and Opportunity Park, a city of Dallas public park border Oakland Cemetery. A Confederate cemetery, cared for by the city of Dallas Parks Department, is nearby.

James Madison High School, formerly Forest Avenue High School, is a public secondary school in Dallas, Texas (USA). Madison High School enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school is a Dallas Landmark which serves Cedars. It formerly served much of Downtown Dallas, until 2016.In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Trinity English Lutheran Church (now known as the Mount Olive Lutheran Church) is a historic Lutheran church at 3100 Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard in Dallas, Texas. The congregation is currently part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The late Gothic Revival church building was constructed in 1922 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Levi–Topletz House is a historic brick residential building in Dallas, Texas, U.S.. It displays elements and characteristic of the Italian Renaissance revival and Prairie School styles. It is one of the few residences of the Edgewood Addition (1912) that is surviving on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (formerly Forest Avenue), the principal streetcar route across the South Dallas neighborhood. The original owner of the house was Jewish businessman, Leo S. Levi, who commissioned the building.It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1995, for the architecture. The building is associated with the historic context, "The Development of East and South Dallas: 1872–1945". It is also known as Phase IV--East Dallas DAL/DA 9.

The Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School is a school for girls in Dallas, Texas. Part of the Dallas Independent School District, it is the first public all-girls school in the state and is renowned for its challenging coursework and high college matriculation rate.The school was established in 2004 and graduated its first class of 21 students in 2009. It opened under the leadership of Principal Vivian Taylor-Samudio. The school is in proximity to Fair Park.

MLK Jr. station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is situated in South Dallas and serves the Green Line. MLK Jr. station acts as a transfer point to numerous buses at the nearby J.B. Jackson Jr. Transit Center. Since opening in 2009, ridership has grown substantially to 1,153 riders each weekday.

The former James H. and Molly Ellis House was located in Dallas, Texas, United States. It was added to the National Register on March 23, 1995. It is notable as a large farmhouse that has survived for over a hundred years in the inner city. The house is the former home of James H. Ellis, who was one of the first real estate developers involved in the construction of modern-day Dallas. The house is also notable as being the last in the area built with Classical Revival style detailing. On Sunday August 11, 2019 at approximately 4:45am, a structure fire was reported at the Ellis home, and Dallas Fire Dept Station 24 responded to find the home consumed with heavy fire. Dallas Fire Department Engine 06 supplied water. The fire was extinguished, but the damage was too extensive to salvage the home. The remains of the historic Ellis House were demolished by the City of Dallas later that day, due to the unsafe structure.

Levi–Moses House is a historic residential building in Dallas, Texas, U.S.. It was designed by architect H. A. Overbeck with elements of Italianate, Renaissance revival, and Prairie School styles. It is one of the few residences of the Edgewood Addition (1912) that is surviving on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (formerly Forest Avenue), the principal streetcar route across the South Dallas neighborhood. The Edgewood Addition was home to many prominent Jewish families who built their homes near Temple Emanu-El (which is no longer existing in that location). The original owner of the house was Charles G. Levi and then his son-in-law Jacob Moses who succeeded him.It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1995, for the architecture. It is also known as Phase IV--East Dallas DAL/DA 16.

Dallas Ice Arena was an indoor arena in Dallas, Texas. It hosted the United States Hockey League's Dallas Texans from 1945 to 1949. The arena held 8,900 people.

Texas Star is a Ferris wheel at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, where it operates during the annual State Fair of Texas as its most popular ride.With an overall height of 216 feet (65.8 m), it was the tallest Ferris wheel in North America from 1985 until the opening of the 250-foot (76 m) Star of Puebla in Mexico, on 22 July 2013.It can carry up to 264 passengers in its 44 gondolas. The view is one of the things that entice people to ride on it. Built by SDC Corp. in Reggio Emilia, Italy, at a cost of $2.2 million, it was shipped to Dallas for its debut at the 1985 State Fair of Texas. It is owned by Barbara Brown and her brother Mike Sandefur.From 1985 to 2007 it was illuminated at night by 16,000 incandescent red, white, and blue turbolites. In 2008, this system was replaced with a longer-lasting, more energy-efficient LED system.
