Holon Children's Museum (Hebrew: מוזיאון הילדים חולון) is a children's museum in Holon, Israel.

The Israel Meteorological Service (Hebrew: השירות המטאורולוגי הישראלי, HaSherut HaMete'orologi HaYisra'eli) is a unit of the Israeli Ministry of Transportation that is responsible for forecasting weather, meteorological data supply and climate research in Israel. Its origins begin in the 1930s in a meteorological unit established by the British Mandate government mainly as a support to the evolving aviation needs at the time. After establishment of the state of Israel, it was incorporated into the newly established ministry of transport. It is a member of the World Meteorological Organization since 1949. the Israeli Meteorological Service runs more than 150 measuring stations across Israel. Located between Rishon LeZion, Mishmar HaShiva, and Holon, it is traditionally identified with also nearby Beit Dagan.

On 14 February 2001, a vehicular attack took place near Azor, Israel. A Palestinian man from Gaza drove a bus into a group of Israeli soldiers who stood at a bus stop at Azor junction, killing 8 people—7 soldiers and one civilian, and injuring 26 further. The Islamist militant organization Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

Design Museum Holon is the first museum in Israel dedicated to design. The building of the museum was planned and designed by Israeli architect and industrial designer Ron Arad in cooperation with Bruno Asa. The museum is in the eastern part of the new culture area of Holon that includes the Médiathèque (central library, theater, cinémathèque). Nearby is the faculty of design in the Holon Institute of Technology. The museum opened on 3 March 2010. That is the first building that was planned by Ron Arad. The museum was noted by travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler as one of the new world wonders.

The Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center (Hebrew: מנהל המחקר החקלאי - מרכז וולקני), previously known as the Agricultural Research Station of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, is an Israeli agricultural research center. It serves as the research arm of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of Israel and provides research opportunities for local and international scientists at post-graduate levels, as well as educational opportunities for Israeli and international youths, farmers and scientists. The organization supports Israeli agriculture research, focusing on plant sciences, animal sciences, plant protection, soil and environmental sciences, food sciences, and agricultural engineering. The organization was founded in 1921 in Ben Shemen, Israel, by Yitzhak Elazari Volcani, for whom it is named.

Azor (Hebrew: אָזוֹר, Arabic: أزور) (also Azur) is a small town (local council) in the Tel Aviv District of Israel, on the old Jaffa-Jerusalem road southeast of Tel Aviv. Established in 1948 on the site of the depopulated Palestinian village of Yazur, Azor was granted local council status in 1951. In 2019 it had a population of 12,957, and has a jurisdiction of 2,415 dunams (2.415 km2; 0.932 sq mi).

Yazur (Arabic: يازور, Hebrew: יאזור) was a Palestinian Arab town located 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) east of Jaffa. Mentioned in 7th century BCE Assyrian texts, the village was a site of contestation between Muslims and Crusaders in the 12th-13th centuries. During the Fatimid period in Palestine, a number of important people were born in Yazur. In modern times the town was the birthplace of Ahmed Jibril, the founder and current head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC). The Israeli town of Azor now stands on the former town lands of Yazur, which was depopulated and mostly destroyed during the 1947–48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine.

Holon Institute of Technology (HIT, Hebrew: מכון טכנולוגי חולון), is a public college in Holon, Israel. The institution focuses on science & technology, and design & visual art, and offers diverse programs that enhance the interdisciplinary approach. The programs range from industrial design to visual communication design, to various specializations in engineering, science and technology. HIT conducts both theoretical and applied research; it has been active in the local and international art, technology & design scenes, and has maintained strong ties with the industry in Israel and abroad.

Mishmar HaShiv'a (Hebrew: מִשְׁמַר הַשִּׁבְעָה, lit. 'guard of the seven') is a moshav in central Israel. Located near Beit Dagan, it falls under the jurisdiction of Sdot Dan Regional Council. In 2019 it had a population of 1,047.

The 2002 Rishon LeZion bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on 7 May 2002 at a crowded game club located in the new industrial area of Rishon Lezion. 16 people were killed in the attack and 55 were injured. The Islamic militant group Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

Mikveh Israel (Hebrew: מִקְוֵה יִשְׂרָאֵל, lit. 'Hope of Israel') is a youth village and boarding school in the Tel Aviv District of central Israel, established in 1870. It was the first Jewish agricultural school in what is now Israel and indeed the first modern Jewish settlement in Palestine outside of Jerusalem, heralding a new era in the history of the region.

Beit Dagan (Hebrew: בֵּית דָּגָן, lit. "House of Grain") is a town and local council in the Central District of Israel. it had a population of 7,285 in 2019. It was awarded local council status in 1958.
