Design Museum Holon

Holon Institute of Technology (HIT, Hebrew: מכון טכנולוגי חולון), is a public college in Holon, Israel. The institution focuses on science & technology, and design & visual art, and offers diverse programs that enhance the interdisciplinary approach. The programs range from industrial design to visual communication design, to various specializations in engineering, science and technology. HIT conducts both theoretical and applied research; it has been active in the local and international art, technology & design scenes, and has maintained strong ties with the industry in Israel and abroad.

Holon (Hebrew: חוֹלוֹן (audio) ) is a city on the central coastal strip of Israel, south of Tel Aviv. Holon is part of the metropolitan Gush Dan area. In 2019 it had a population of 196,282. Holon has the second-largest industrial zone in Israel, after Haifa. Its jurisdiction is 19,200 dunams and its population is about 194,273 residents as of 2018 according to CBS data.

The Talpiot College of Education (המכללה האקדמית תלפיות) is a religious teacher training college in Holon, Israel. It prepares teachers “in the spirit of the Mamlachti dati (state religious) education system”. It was founded in 1937 by Jacob Alishkovsky and was originally called the "Talpiot Beit Midrash for Kindergarten Teachers". The college is accredited by the Council for Higher Education in Israel and offers specialized Bachelor of Education degrees in the following tracks: early childhood; elementary school; secondary school; special education; educational counseling. The college established Midreshet Aviv in 1998 as an institution of Torah Study “lishma” (for its own sake). Midreshet Binat is also associated with the college.

Bat Yam–Yoseftal railway station is a railway station on the Rosh HaAyin–Beersheba line. It is located at the Yoseftal interchange on the Ayalon Highway, on the border between Bat Yam and Holon, just south of Tel Aviv, Israel.

Mikveh Israel (Hebrew: מִקְוֵה יִשְׂרָאֵל, lit. 'Hope of Israel') is a youth village and boarding school in the Tel Aviv District of central Israel, established in 1870. It was the first Jewish agricultural school in what is now Israel and indeed the first modern Jewish settlement in Palestine outside of Jerusalem, heralding a new era in the history of the region.

Bat Yam-Komemiyut railway station is a railway station on the Rosh HaAyin–Beersheba line. It is located at the Komemiyut interchange of the Ayalon Highway, on the border between Bat Yam and Holon.

The 2002 Rishon LeZion bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on 7 May 2002 at a crowded game club located in the new industrial area of Rishon Lezion. 16 people were killed in the attack and 55 were injured. The Islamic militant group Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Bat Yam Municipal Stadium (Hebrew: האצטדיון העירוני בת ים, HaEtztadion HaIroni Bat Yam) is a football stadium in the Tel Aviv District city of Bat Yam, Israel. It has a capacity of 3,100. Opened in 1991, the stadium is located in the south-east of Bat Yam, and replaced the former municipal stadium that was in the south-west. It was host to Beitar Bat Yam, Maccabi Bat Yam, and later, Maccabi Ironi Bat Yam and Hapoel Bat Yam, all of which are now defunct.

Holon Children's Museum (Hebrew: מוזיאון הילדים חולון) is a children's museum in Holon, Israel.

Holon Toto Hall is an indoor arena that is located in the Tel Aviv District city of Holon, Israel. The arena is mainly used to host basketball games. It has a seating capacity of 5,500.

Gush Dan (Hebrew: גּוּשׁ דָּן, lit. "Dan bloc") is a conurbation in Israel, located along the country's Mediterranean coastline. There is no single formal definition of Gush Dan, though the term is in frequent use by governmenting bodies. It ranges from combining Tel Aviv with cities that form urban continuum with it, to the entire areas from both the Tel Aviv and the Central District, or sometimes the whole Metropolitan Area of Tel Aviv (Hebrew: מֶטְרוֹפּוֹלִין תֵּל אָבִיב), which includes a small part of the Southern District as well. Gush Dan is the largest conurbation and metropolitan area in Israel, with the metropolitan area having an estimated population of 4,054,570 residents, 95% of whom are Israeli Jews. Despite making up less than 8% of Israel's total land area, it houses about 45% of the country's total population. It is the second or third largest metropolitan area on the Mediterranean Sea.

On 22 December 2013, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a pressure cooker bomb exploded on a public bus in Bat Yam, Israel. All casualties were averted because a few minutes earlier, a passenger on the bus had examined the contents of an unattended bag, and saw what looked like a bomb inside, which led all passengers and the driver to exit the vehicle. The bombing shattered or blew out all windows on the bus, and significantly damaged the interior. On 2 January 2014, the Shin Bet announced it had arrested four Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives for the bombing, including one individual who was a Palestinian Authority police officer. The Islamic Jihad cell had reportedly been planning a larger bombing in Tel Aviv as well. It was the first terrorist bombing in Israel since the November 21, 2012 bus bombing in Tel Aviv.
