Nieuw-Balinge

Mantinge is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe. The village was first mentioned in 1335 as Mantinc, and means "settlement of the people of Mante (short for Manfred)".Mantinge was home to 280 people in 1840. In the 1930s, a work camp was established near the village. On 31 March 1942, it was used by 80 Jewish forced labourers. The food was poor, however the Jewish customs were respected. On 15 July 1942, the labourers were moved to Westerbork transit camp from where most were moved on to the concentration camps.

Langerak is a hamlet in the Netherlands and is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. Langerak is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Geesbrug. It was first mentioned in 1899 and means "long straight waterway" which is a reference to the Verlengde Hoogeveensche Vaart which has two bends, but is straight near Langerak. The hamlet consists of about 40 houses.

De Haar is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of Hoogeveen, about 7 km northeast of that town.It was first mentioned in 1936 as Haar, and means "sandy ridge". It is considered part of Tiendeveen, and has about 85 houses.

Geesbrug is a village in the Netherlands and is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe. Geesburg was first mentioned in 1913, and means the bridge near Gees.

Balinge is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 14 km northeast of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned between 1381 and 1383 as Balinghe, and means "settlement of the people of Balo (person)".Balinge was home to 59 people in 1840.

Bruntinge is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 13 km northeast of Hoogeveen.

Garminge is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 15 km northeast of Hoogeveen. It was first mentioned in 1362 as Gharminge, and means "the descendants of Garm". Garm is an old Dutch first name generally just used in the northern provinces Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland. Garminge was home to 97 people in 1840.

Drijber is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 9 km north of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned in 1217 as Triburd, and means "three neighbourhoods". The area around Drijber was first settled around 300 BC, however it was abandoned around 425.Drijber was home to 68 people in 1840. In 1928, a little church was built in the village.

Eursinge is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe and lies about 16 km northeast of Hoogeveen. The statistical area "Eursinge", which can also include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 60.

Nieuwlande (Dutch Low Saxon: Neilaande) is a Dutch village located in the north-eastern province of Drenthe situated in the municipality of Hoogeveen. The population, as of 2023 is 1419. Nieuwlande is one of only two villages in the world that collectively received the Righteous Among the Nations award for its Holocaust Rescue story where nearly all of the towns residents hid and saved the lives of hundreds of Jews as well as resistance fighters and German deserters during World War II.Nieuwlande is on peatland in the south of Drenthe. It arose where five municipalities meet: Oosterhesselen (by far the largest part), Dalen, Coevorden, Hardenberg, and Hoogeveen. For this reason, a book about Nieuwlande's history had the catching title "Nieuwlande, village with five burgomasters". This situation obstructed to a great extent the extension possibilities and an efficient governing board: for many municipalities it was but an unimportant peripheral area. Therefore, at the municipal division of Drenthe on 1 January 1998 it was decided for the village to be in one municipality, by moving over to the municipality border of Hoogeveen about 1.5 kilometres to the east. The small part of the municipality of Hardenberg (province Overijssel) was, however, not affected by this; and also beyond the new municipality border some inhabitants of Nieuwlande still lived in the new fusion municipality Coevorden. The border now, however, no longer goes straight through the village. Nieuwlande has a new Dutch Reformed church, a Reformed church from 1913, and a church of the meeting of the believers. It also has sports fields; a public and Protestant primary school; a hypermarket with a mail agency; children's playgrounds under its jurisdiction, other companies, and public places. Rural areas are characterised by agriculture (peat diggings) and some nature reserves - scrub and heathland or peat.

Witteveen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋɪtəˌveːn]; English: White Bog) is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 16 km northeast of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned in 1856 as "het Witteveen", and means "white peat". In 1926, the peat was excavated as part of a project for the unemployed. 50 houses were built to house the workers. In 1929, a small Dutch Reformed church was built. The church is nowadays used as a residential home.

Noordscheschut is a village in the north of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Hoogeveen, Drenthe.
