Frederiksoord

Nijensleek is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 5 km north of Steenwijk. The village was first mentioned in 1402 as Nyensleker bure, and means "new natural stream". Nijensleek is a road village which developed in the Late Middle Ages as a peat excavation settlement.Nijensleek was home to 363 people in 1840. In 1934, a Reformed Church was built as an aisleless church with ridge turret.

Wilhelminaoord is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 26 km northwest of Hoogeveen. Wilhelminaoord was one of the farming colonies established by the Society of Benevolence in 1821 to decrease poverty by providing sustainable employment for able-bodied poor people. Along with the other colonies constructed by the Society, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021 because of its testimony to a unique method of housing reform and its urban planning. The settlement was named after Wilhelmina of Prussia.The Colony Church is a Dutch Reformed church which dates from 1853. Attendance used to be mandatory. In 2009, it was decommissioned and is nowadays used for weddings, conferences and parties.

Vledder (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvlɛdər]) is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 24 km northwest of Hoogeveen. It is located along the small river Vledder Aa.

The Molen van Vledder is a smock mill in Vledder, Drenthe, which is used as holiday accommodation. The mill was built in 1968 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 357823.

Vledderveen is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 26 km northwest of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned in 1877 as Vledderveen, and means "peat excavation settlement belonging to Vledder". The excavation started around 1780 by Frisian colonists. The settlement later grew as former colonists from Frederiksoord settled in the village.Vledderveen was home to 320 people in 1870. In 1891, a little wooden church was built in the village. It was replaced by a stone building in 1934. In 1942, Jewish forced labourers cultivated the heath around Vledderveen. On 2 October 1942, they were sent to Westerbork transit camp. A memorial has been placed in 1986.

Havelterberg is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It lies on the border of the municipalities Meppel and Westerveld, and lies about 21 km west of Hoogeveen.

Darp is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. In 2001, the town of Darp had 507 inhabitants. It is a suburb of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 19 km west of Hoogeveen. The current name was first mentioned 1851-1855 as "sic: Erp", and means village. It used to be called Hesselte (1206 in Hesle). The reason for the name change is unclear.Much of the village was demolished in 1942 by the Germans to construct the military airfield Havelte. After 1948, part of the village was rebuilt further to the west.

Oosterstreek (West Frisian: Easterstreek) is a small village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 535 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1974 as Oosterstreek, and is a new name for the linear settlement along the Noordwolde to Boijl road, however it was first used around 1930 by the local football club. It means "eastern region" (as viewed from Noordwolde). The area around Oosterstreek was a peat excavation region, and nowadays mainly consists of heath.

Noordwolde (West Frisian: Noardwâlde) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 3,600 as of 2017. Noordwolde-Zuid, the settlement to the south of Noordwolde is considered a separate village.There is a restored windmill in the village, Windlust. The National Museum of Weaving is located in the village. There is a natural lake, the Spokedam, which is partly surrounded by a beach, on the outskirts of Noordwolde. There are several camp sites near the lake such as "Hanestede" and the bungalow park "The Bosmeer". There is a swimming pool beside the Spokedam. There are two supermarkets and several other shops and restaurants in the village, and the largest model train shop (G-scale) in Europe is in Noordwolde.

The Havelter Molen is a smock mill at Havelte, Drenthe, the Netherlands which was built in 1914 and has been restored to working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 21029.
