Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum (Malay: Makam Diraja Shah Alam) is a royal mausoleum of Selangor. The mausoleum is located near Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in the state capital of Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Taman Tasik Shah Alam, also known as Shah Alam Lake Garden, is a 43-hectare public park located in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is the first public park to open in the state of Selangor in 1985 and designed by architect Fumiaki Takano. The park is home to three man-made lakes, which are connected by a network of canals and walkways. There is also a water theme park, Wet World Shah Alam, located on the Western Lake. The park hosts a variety of flora and fauna. There are over 100 species of trees and plants, as well as a variety of birds, animals, and insects.

The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque (Malay: Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz, Arabic: مسجد سلطان صلاح الدين عبدالعزيز) is the state mosque of Selangor, Malaysia. It is located in Shah Alam and is the country's largest mosque and also the second largest mosque in Southeast Asia by capacity. Its most distinguishing feature is its large blue and silver dome. The mosque has four minarets, one erected at each of the corners.

Sultan Alam Shah Museum (Malay: Muzium Sultan Alam Shah) is a museum in Shah Alam, Petaling, Selangor, Malaysia. It is the state museum of Selangor. This museum was opened in 1989 by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Shah Alam Royale Theatre is a theater in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located at Jalan Persidangan in section 14, just behind the Grand Blue Wave hotel. This theatre provides an alternative venue for local theatre productions besides Shah Alam City Council auditorium and Petaling Jaya Civic Centre. The theatre is aimed to function as the centre of cultural and performing arts and tourist attraction for Selangor, especially Shah Alam.

National Botanic Gardens Shah Alam (Malay: Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam or TBNSA) is a national botanic garden in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is incorporated in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries. With area of 817 hectares, it is the habitat of flora and fauna, also a recreational destination in the Klang Valley. As of August 2021, the director of TBNSA is Siti Zubaidah binti Mohamad.

The Dato Menteri LRT station is a light rapid transit (LRT) station nestled in the state capital city of Shah Alam in Selangor, Malaysia. It serves as one of the stations on the Shah Alam Line. The station is located at Section 14 where most of the important commercial and government departments in the state of Selangor are located. The station is marked as Station No. 12 along the RM9 billion line project with the line's maintenance depot located in Johan Setia, Klang. This LRT station was expected to be operational in February 2024, but Transport Minister Anthony Loke mentioned that the overall line would be expected to be operational by 1st March 2025 adding more delays to the opening of the Shah Alam Line. It will have facilities such as public parking, kiosks, restrooms, elevators, taxi stand and feeder bus among others.

SIRIM Berhad, formerly known as the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), is a corporate organization owned wholly by the Malaysian Government, under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI). It has been entrusted by the Malaysian Government to be the national organization for standards and quality and as a promoter of technological excellence in the Malaysian industry. The main headquarters is located in Shah Alam, Selangor. The organization came into operation on 1 September 1996 via a corporatization scheme of standards and industrial research institute.

The MARA Technological University (Malay: Universiti Teknologi MARA; Jawi: اونيۏرسيتي تيكنولوڬي مارا; abbr. UiTM) is a public university based primarily in Shah Alam, Selangor. It was established to help rural Malays in 1956 as the RIDA (Rural & Industrial Development Authority) Training Centre (Malay: Dewan Latihan RIDA), and opened with around 50 students. It has since grown into the largest institution of higher education in Malaysia as measured by physical infrastructure, faculty and staff, and student enrollment.The university comprises one main campus and 34 satellite campuses. It offers over 500 programmes taught in English that range from undergraduate to the postgraduate level. The school is home to some 170,514 full-time and part-time bumiputera and international students. Postgraduate programme is open for international students and bumiputera but not for non-bumiputera.In 2019, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) proposed its corporate name change to Arshad Ayub University (Malay: Universiti Tun Arshad Ayub) to honour the country's education icon and its founding father, Arshad Ayub, which subject to regulatory approval. The proposed name is still pending for approval from the Ministry of Education. Another proposed name is Universiti DiRaja Malaysia (English: Royal University of Malaysia).

Raja Tun Uda Library (Malay: Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda) is the main public library of the Malaysian State of Selangor. It is located at Section 13, Shah Alam, inside Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf & Country Club and has 6 stories and an area of around 203,600 sq ft; It is currently the headquarters of the Selangor Public Library Corporation (Malay: Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Selangor, abbreviated as PPAS), a statutory body of the Selangor State Government.
