Moreton railway station (Merseyside)

The Birket is a tributary of the River Mersey, on the Wirral, Merseyside. The watercourse starts as lowland field drainage south of Hoylake and flows along to the south of Meols. Arrowe Brook joins at Moreton, and the Fender joins at Leasowe. The Birket discharges into the West Float at the site of the former Wallasey Pool. It is about 8 miles (13 km) long. The Birket was recorded by Ordnance Survey, around 1842.

Moreton is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England. It is located approximately 3 mi (4.8 km) to the west of Wallasey. Historically part of Cheshire, it is now within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. The town was divided in 2004 between the local government wards of Leasowe & Moreton East and Moreton West & Saughall Massie. Moreton is also part of the parliamentary constituency of Wallasey. In the 2001 census it had a population of 17,670.

New Brighton Football Club (Rugby Union) are a rugby union team based in Moreton, Merseyside, UK. They currently play in the ADM Lancashire Championship League. The club was formed in 1875 and have been based at several grounds over the years. The club's present home is Hartsfield, situated in Moreton, Wirral, England. One of the most notable matches in the club's history was when they hosted a joint New Brighton / North of Ireland F.C. team to face the 1969 touring South African team. The South Africa national team had initially intended to play an Ulster fixture in Belfast, but when this was cancelled and the New Brighton game scheduled in its place. The Springboks won 22–6. Today the club fields teams from many different age groups from 3 full senior men’s’ XVs, Womens’ XV, and under-18s sequentially down to under-5s

The North Wirral Coastal Park, on the Wirral Peninsula, England is a coastal park including public open space, common land, natural foreshore and sand-dunes. The park lies between Dove Point in Meols, and the Kings Parade in New Brighton, and was created in 1986. The park is managed by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral ranger service from their offices in the Leasowe Lighthouse, and occupies some 400 acres (988 hectares) of land in a four-mile stretch along the coastline making it Wirral's largest park. Although the park in its current form is relatively new, the history of the site goes back at least 5000 years to when the area, including the foreshore, was heavily forested. The remains of this coastal forestland are known as the 'submerged forest' and can be seen at Dove Point, Meols, between the slipway and the groyne.

Leasowe railway station is a station serving the village of Leasowe, in Merseyside, England. It lies on the West Kirby branch of the Wirral Line, part of the Merseyrail network.

Leasowe () is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England. Historically within Cheshire (ceased to be in 1974), Leasowe was part of the old County Borough of Wallasey. It is now within the Leasowe and Moreton East Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, as well as the Wallasey parliamentary constituency. At the 2001 census, Leasowe had a population of 6,180. By the time of the 2011 census specific figures for Leasowe were no longer maintained. The total population of the Leasowe and Moreton East Ward was 14,640.

The Kingsway Academy (formerly Wallasey School) was a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Leasowe in the English county of Merseyside. Wallasey Grammar School in the Wirral area was first constructed on St George's Road. A picture was painted by Victorian artist John Henry Robinson (1852–1922) of the first school building, and another by Harold Hopps (1879–1967) In 1876 it moved to Withens Lane. It moved again to a site purchased from the Navy in 1911, moving its former premises on Flag Field. The site once occupied by the now defunct grammar school is now occupied by Liscard Primary School. A Technical College was opened next door in 1963. The grammar moved to Leasowe in 1967, and later became Wallasey Comprehensive School. Previously a community school administered by Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council, Wallasey School converted to academy status in February 2015. However the school had already been renamed The Kingsway Academy in September 2014. On 3 July 2017 it was confirmed by the school that it would close down in August 2018. The Kingsway Academy then officially closed on 31 August 2018.

Radio Wirral (previously 7 Waves 92.1 and Wirral Radio) was an community radio station serving Liverpool, the Wirral Peninsula, the North West, North Wales and West Cheshire.

Town Meadow is a proposed railway station to serve the west of Moreton near Meols in the Wirral, England. The station would be situated on the West Kirby branch of the Wirral Line. The planned station forms part of the wider Local Transport Plan for Merseyside and is included on page 139 of the 2011–2015 document among other proposed stations at Carr Mill, Beechwood, Woodchurch and Deeside.Merseytravel found in a survey carried out in 2010 that support for the station was high. The proposed station would serve existing and new developments in Moreton. The Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Paul Maynard MP, visited the site in April 2017 with local councillors, to back calls for the building of the station. It was revealed that Merseytravel already own the land, but neither they nor Wirral Council had applied for a grant from the government's New Stations Fund. Merseytravel defended their decision, claiming that their plans for the station were not sufficiently advanced to bid for funding. The October 2017 Liverpool City Region Combined Authority update to the Long Term Rail Strategy mentions that station as being built between Network Rail Control Periods CP5 and CP7.The land for the station has been reserved by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral's local planning authority, which considers the station to be justified by the size of the catchment population.

Upton Hall is a large manor house on the peninsula known as the Wirral, in the village of Upton in Merseyside, England (historically, the hall was in the county of Cheshire). The owner of the hall was styled the Lord of the Manor and also known as the Squire.The Manor of Upton itself dates back to the Domesday Book in 1086, when it was recorded as being held by William Mallbank. "The title of Lord of the Manor of Upton passed from Mallbank to the Praers and Ornebias, one of whom in 1230 gave it, and the Manor of Willaston, to his mother. It descended through female heirs to Sir John Arderne and was given as a wedding present when his daughter married Baldwin Bold in 1310."Ownership of the hall and associated titles and privileges changed frequently. After six generations of occupation by the Bolds, it was purchased by Robert Davies in 1614. The currently standing Upton Hall, built by the Webster family in the 1800s, is a Grade II listed building.

Upton Hall School FCJ is a catholic girls' grammar school with academy status located in Merseyside, England. It was founded in 1849 by the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ).

Upton is a village in the northern part of the Wirral Peninsula, England, and is situated within 4 miles (6.4 km) of Birkenhead, 4 miles (6.4 km) of the Dee Estuary, a similar distance from the River Mersey, and 2 miles (3.2 km) from Liverpool Bay. The village is a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in the metropolitan county of Merseyside. Upton was in the traditional county of Cheshire. At the 2011 census, the population was 16,130. Upton was originally settled as an Anglo-Saxon farming community, and remained as a farming community until the village's rapid urbanisation and expansion from the mid-19th century. This was brought about by the development of Liverpool as a major port, with rail and road links across the Mersey estuary. The village now has a strong service economy which is based primarily around healthcare and retail, with a variety of places nearby, and within the village, to pursue sport and leisure activities.
